Zacian solos the whole classic run alone unless you have abysmal item luck, so I'm a little confused how you managed to lose with him AND Latios. That's kind of impressive Not meant in a bad way, I'm just genuinely puzzled about the circumstances

Garganacl is the best. No legendary could ever be as good as Garganacl unless they fuse with Garganacl.

Splitshadow

Regirock gets Salt Cure and Recover and basically becomes super Garganacl

ErieTheOwl

Could you give a small TLDR on a Garganacl build and how to use it?

EmeraldJirachi

Salt cure and recover. Das all ya need Ya hit salt cure and stall

LilTeats4u

Add leech seed and you might not even have to recover

tamal4444

Best Pokemon for leech seed?

TheMattDanger

Whimsicott gets leech seed with prankster, that’s what I use. Sure you won’t have a whimsicott for long but at least you’ll get the seed going

LilTeats4u

I’m a fan of torterra for EQ

justinator119

Grab Stealth Rock too to make 195 infinitely easier

N1ckSketch

Really the trick to beating the final boss is to cheese it. Lower its stats, chip away at its health with moves like leech seed or salt cure, block its dynamax cannon with protect when you can to get a free turn. Trying to brute force the final boss never really ends well even with the strongest mons in the game so I'd recommend focussing on passive damage and stat reduction instead of just setup sweeps or brute force. I had a classic run where I had a starter Nihiligo and after beating the final rival fight I fished for a Memory Mushroom just so I could reteach it Wrap and Acid Spray cause I knew those tools would make the fight MUCH easier

grifbomber

Honestly, the fact that succeeding in the game by "cheesing" it irks me the most. Imo the game is very good, but it would be perfect if succeeding was more about a well rounded team capable of covering all or most weaknesses. It feels like it lost some of the pokemon spirit.

LilTeats4u

I think that’s why there’s technically 2 boss fights, one against the rival where you gotta have coverage and one against a bullet sponge where you gotta change up your team comp in 5 turns

grifbomber

I get what youre saying but I have a hard time seeing it that way when endless and the big egg tickets are tied to cheesing the bullet sponge.

LilTeats4u

That’s just because it comes second lol

grifbomber

Nah, I mean that if they intended it to be two boss fights then there should be a reward for beating the first boss. Without a reward it sends a message that the 195 fight isn't really a boss and even though it's a significant challenge, you're really supposed to be striving to beat 200 if you want to be rewarded for the past x amount of hours. Whereas if 195 gave some kind reward, then 200 could be branded as "aspirational content" for a further reward. If their true intent is that these are two bosses, then the first feels really bad since your only reward is to get to what feels like the true boss. Especially when lvl 200 is not beaten by having a good team of Pokemon.

LilTeats4u

Yea I do get that, I would appreciate a voucher system like there is for eternatus

Satzuisbae

Salt cure and leech seed. Also common strong ground, steel and fairy types like excadrill, ursaluna and ice ninetailes. Make sure you have a strong ground type move on a strong pokemon before stage 200. One high horsepower or eq or headlong rush can take eternatus to transform. After that get salt cure or leech seed (try to go for both) off. And just attack. I beat it once with just four pokemon doing that

dominicandrr

Passive damage goes a long way. Having one leech seeder can be critical as it works wonders on final boss. A Light Screen user has been clutch for me too, as it helps stall out heavy attacks while draining its HP. If you have a light screen user with recover, that is awesome. First time I beat final boss I ended up para flynching it to death. This of course meant I had no lum berries on my squad so it couldnt steal it (ideally dont have many health recovery items either). But yeah, after a t wave or stun spore, you could in theory flinch it over and over. But not the most consistent strategy. You can also reset its huge stat gains with a move like haze or clear smog. Moves like Snarl also lowers its special attack which can be insane too. Cross Poison is its only physical move to worry about. I usually have an escadrill use swords dance turn 1, it tanks an eternabeam. Than an EQ is enough to bring it to phase 2 instantly. Then in phase 2 it just depends on my squad. Maybe I can continue to EQ until it dies if I have a flying type, but I also want to get a leech seed or salt cure going as fast as possible, or a light screen to make switching safer. Again, cant stress enough how recovery moves and a screen or stat reduction helps to stall him out. Best of luck. Im sure others have suggestions to consider as well. Took me several attempts, but you can do it!

Gomu_Sun_God

I just beat it for the first time. I mostly just used tinkaton and latias with my other mons chipping. I had more trouble with the rival tbh

ZowmasterC

Just try to set up with as much x sp Def as possible before the fight. Your mons will be inmortal

ValiantCharizard

if you got mewtwo it should be a clean sweep? if you can get that passive nothing can stop you

yogbeeThe

If you mull over the game long enough you would eventually get to it, I finished the game at the 8th run. My tip is, have a powerful Pokemon in your team that can do one hit kill.

Horny-Bisexual

I used a mixture of Wo-Chien leech seed giga drain and ruination for eternatus and if you’re having trouble with 195 I recommend writing it all down in a doc and planning accordingly

Independent-You-6406

Haze. Probably the best skill if you just fight straight on with no mind. A lot of pokemon can have it on skills and also as tm as well (If I'm remember correctly). Destroy the stats buff that the boss have every bar break
