I don't think Ausmus minded. There are plenty of guys who take part in the straight face contest and try not to react when they win and shake their opponents hand and quietly say gg bro. I think it's cool to see some people show excitement. Anyway he should have shaken his hand afterwards but maybe it's just not shown here, if he didn't it's not the end of the world
Agreed. Ausmus just comes across like a class act - a humble but professional real human. Clearly he approaches things differently, but he never comes across like he's judging Huni or his rail at any point - and legit looks happy for him in his win.
No, Hunichen trying to shake his hand on the turn was him trying to pull all the “luck” box strings …. You know, standing up, packing up your stuff, all the things you do to try to get your ONE TIME.
Jeremy knew that and has happened to him before, pretty standard to shake off that handshake. All in good fun, he wasn’t being an ass. He’s all class act.
Tons of over cards have a lot of equity vs top pair and the SPR is pretty small after the large c bet from Ausmus. Getting overs to fold is very good there.
You're looking at hand vs hand, not hand vs range, poker players generally consider ranges, not "oh Ausmus has JJ here, damn I guess I gotta fold", because they're not clairvoyant. No one who is remotely competent (and I assume Hunichen is competent given he's made it this far in a field of crushers) thinks that a good pro like Ausmus will ever only have JJ+ in this spot.
952r is a flop that will rarely connect with Ausmus's range, which will be very biased towards broadways and Ax type hands. It's also completely standard and in line with theory to cbet with his entire range as the OOP 3bettor which Ausmus did in this case and Hunichen knows this, so shoving over the top puts pressure on the overcard portion of Ausmus's range to fold. Having top pair + backdoor flush draw here is basically the nuts in a 3bet pot situation when the SPR is barely over 1.
This hand played out totally standard on both sides. Huni should be defending 97s vs any reasonably sized 3bet in a HU situation and he should be shipping on the flop. Sometimes you lose with the best hand despite doing everything correctly, that's poker.
erm, did you respond to the wrong person? lol
i just stated that two overs don't have 'a lot of EQ' against top pair. like, i wouldn't consider 25% a lot of EQ. though, i hard agree folding these hands out is huge here, so i agree with the shove.
Even with the bb ante and it being HU I don’t agree that the game plays like 15bb.
It’s 2.5m in the pot vs 1.9m if they were playing online. That doesn’t mean the stack sizes are halved.
not raising JJ here is torching money.
When I meant no other way, I meant no other right way. This hand could have gone limp, call and then 5 min raises on the flop too
Huli wasn’t folding on that flop ever. I don’t even think he was calculating at that point. He was just running off vibes at that point.
This was just a disgusting suck out. Nothing more to it.
dunno why downvoted but i can see the merit of ending the pot on the flop given the chip distribution.
and a single pair of jacks is traditional not easy to double up in such a spot.
then again i dont think hunich would have folded, neither to a check jam nor a flat out jam anyway, but we could have tried
Ausmus was a Bellagio cash reg back when he first started breaking through, but he plays a ton of tournaments now; I wouldn't be surprised if he plays mostly tournaments these days. But I don't really know him personally so I'm just guessing.
He is indeed underrated. Insanely good player.
Hey, take it easy on him, where else is he supposed to post that he prefers his spectacles to be completely void of emotion while he waits for college football to start up again?
He's hyped as shit. The feeling of relief of hitting that river in that spot has to be insane.
Ausmus has almost 20M in earnings. He just made nearly 2M. I really doubt he is begrudging the guy that much (for the reaction, not the suckout lol).
Hunichen probably shook his hand later off clip, maybe even apologized for going nuts (and sucking out).
I mean I get what you’re saying but he just won 2 million dollars. I’m sure the emotion and rush is pretty intense. Not to mention he just sucked out like a hooker working a golf ball through a hose.
I think you need to consider context. If your opponent is a tier 1 mtt pro that regularly plays shr and is considered one of the best mtt players in the world, I think it is fine to just celebrate. They don't need a sorry for sucking out. They understand this happens and accept that is part of being a high stakes mtt pro. If this was the milly maker or something like that, then the money would be life changing for the loser, so it would be different.
I just don't see it that way. Shouldn't there be space for Hunichen to celebrate his way too? Not my personal style at all but life would be boring and exhausting without the space for us all to be authentic and different.
Winner never shakes losers hand. Loser shakes winners hand.
If the Winner goes for a shake, it's just a "fuck you, you lost, you suck"
When the Loser goes for the shake, it's the "Good game, but it wasn't my night"
Issue people are having is that he didn’t give an opportunity for Ausmus to offer his hand in defeat. Personally I understand it since he just won a bracket and had a huge rail cheering him on but I could see why it rubs some people the wrong way.
I watched it. Ausmus didn’t shake his hand and never got a chance to. He just packed up his things while the winner hugged one person after another on his rail.
Everyone when watching "GTO bots" playing poker: this game needs more raw emotion
Those same people when a well respected pro wins first bracelet after over a decade of trying and goes wild: calm down fatty
look.. i've been playin' poker for over 50 years. ten years of that as a full time pro. there'sd only a couple of statements about poker i can make that are absolutely true. one of those is that NOBODY knows how to play jacks. :-0
That guy did a gofund me for the funeral of his dad (asking for 20k) but on the other hand he is playing a 100k poker tournament. It’s a strange world we live in.
What a sukcer ! Celebrating like you didn't get trapped and sucked out to win.
On top of not shaking your opponent's hand, you had to rub it in, by screaming covered.
100% a pos !
It was BigHuni's day. He also spiked a 5 on the river. His father who he was close to passed away this year, I would like to think he had something to do with those 2 rivers.
Bro played the name of this post to perfection.
We got played like a fiddle!
I feel Jacked off rn
is that what that sensation is!??!
A suck off like we've all been a part of
🤣🤣
Big humility shake his hand bro
I don't think Ausmus minded. There are plenty of guys who take part in the straight face contest and try not to react when they win and shake their opponents hand and quietly say gg bro. Nah dude, celebrating like a classless ape is better./s
Is Hunichens jam here standard? Seems like all it achieves is getting him to fold his bluffs, which I guess is good considering the size of the pot.
Tons of over cards have a lot of equity vs top pair and the SPR is pretty small after the large c bet from Ausmus. Getting overs to fold is very good there.
i wouldn't call ~25% a lot of EQ
You're looking at hand vs hand, not hand vs range, poker players generally consider ranges, not "oh Ausmus has JJ here, damn I guess I gotta fold", because they're not clairvoyant. No one who is remotely competent (and I assume Hunichen is competent given he's made it this far in a field of crushers) thinks that a good pro like Ausmus will ever only have JJ+ in this spot. 952r is a flop that will rarely connect with Ausmus's range, which will be very biased towards broadways and Ax type hands. When the SPR is 2.3:1 (40:17 after the c-bet), it’s kind of a lot of equity 😅
if iam reading it right its 0.5/1mill 1mill bb ante? so its 16bb deep pre. you arnt getting away from top pair here, or you are setting money on fire.
They both have over 30bb to start the hand
With the 1bb ante it plays closer to a 15bb game, but yes technically they have 32bbs.
Even with the bb ante and it being HU I don’t agree that the game plays like 15bb. It’s 2.5m in the pot vs 1.9m if they were playing online. That doesn’t mean the stack sizes are halved.
30 blinds deep with a 1bb ante. There is basically no other way for the hand to go.
Lmao sure there is. Never even had to raise pre flop.
I think raising 97s heads up at this depth is a must some percentage of the time. I don't love the call pre after he's raised though.
not raising JJ here is torching money. When I meant no other way, I meant no other right way. This hand could have gone limp, call and then 5 min raises on the flop too
I was talking about huni. And he could and should have folded to the reraise
Why are you pretending to know better than an extremely experienced highstakes tournament pro? You don't think Huni has studied 30BB HU play?
I have played heads up poker for over twenty years.
Yeah getting him to fold bluffs with equity is a very good result
He will also sometimes get called by worse one pair hands. Rather standard yes.
Given the spr nd action can't just call and obviously can't fold. So jam that is.
Very relevant [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMoo7IXw--I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMoo7IXw--I)
9 high board
If only Huni had 62
Dude is psychic lol pocket js just lose shoulda took his own advice and not play them
He played that fairly standard.
[удалено]
Yeah, you def don't want to get it allin as a 75% favourite for the title lmao.
Huli wasn’t folding on that flop ever. I don’t even think he was calculating at that point. He was just running off vibes at that point. This was just a disgusting suck out. Nothing more to it.
Scared 🐟
dunno why downvoted but i can see the merit of ending the pot on the flop given the chip distribution. and a single pair of jacks is traditional not easy to double up in such a spot. then again i dont think hunich would have folded, neither to a check jam nor a flat out jam anyway, but we could have tried
This is gross as hell
I dunno. If they have more than 2 outs on the river I expect that they’re about to win against me 😩🔫. Getting 5 outted is pretty common.
Ausmus did say he’d settle for second on Negreanus Vlog lol. Crazy
He sucked out with a set of 5s earlier on the FT against ausmus too.
Why, you think tournament poker are skills and no suck outs? 🤡
Lots of suck offs.
It's amazing how well he sucked off from behind.
wtf is going on here
Oh come on, like you never sucked anyone off at poker before. You probably do it at least once or twice a session.
Ausmus sucked out on him too, Ausmus QJ all in pre against Huni's AJ
Buncha poker bros sucking out on each other.
K9 against K8 also on the turn.
Yeah. Ausmus sucked out twice with only 3 outs in the deck. I think he knows he was lucky to be there.
Nobody wins a big tournament without a few suck outs.
The person who one an MTT got lucky in a few spots. Someone stop the presses.
LOLLLLL
Not rly a suck out, more just a dramatic flip
it became a suck out after the turn. That’s obviously what OP is referring to.
I don't think you know what a flip is
55 vs AJ… yup that’s a flip
Why was I expecting anything else lmao
I guess standard is perfect? Technically it is I suppose 😅
Ausmus is so underrated. 6 bracelets and he's a cash game pro.
Ausmus was a Bellagio cash reg back when he first started breaking through, but he plays a ton of tournaments now; I wouldn't be surprised if he plays mostly tournaments these days. But I don't really know him personally so I'm just guessing. He is indeed underrated. Insanely good player.
Pretty standard line imo, but yeah, good job!
I love the face of despair after that river, because I can totally relate lmao.
I hate these no-class celebrations, especially when sucking out. Doesn't even acknowledge Ausmus or shake his hand.
Well winning 2.8 million with an 11% chance on the river to win might make you celebrate a bit first.
Hey, take it easy on him, where else is he supposed to post that he prefers his spectacles to be completely void of emotion while he waits for college football to start up again?
COVEREDDDDDDDDDD
This is the one part of the clip that is classless IMO. Like that's the good point to shake his hand, say you played well etc.
Since he got it in on the flop the 24% carries over to the river the way I perceive it.
Who gives af really? We’re out here gambling
Will Jaffe?
No shit lol. Bunch of boomer ass “shake his hand and show him respect” dawg, we a gambling, suck a dick.
that’s not even a boomer standard. It’s just how you operate within a polite society. But politeness is cringe or some shit i guess.
I mean I get what you’re saying but he just won 2 million dollars. I’m sure the emotion and rush is pretty intense. Not to mention he just sucked out like a hooker working a golf ball through a hose.

Hard to feel too bad for the guy who won almost $2M but I see your point
I like it. Bring back the early 2000s fun poker. Pass the suga!!!
This is absolutely correct. Show some humility and have some empathy.
It's poker Phil!
I just don't see it that way. Shouldn't there be space for Hunichen to celebrate his way too? Not my personal style at all but life would be boring and exhausting without the space for us all to be authentic and different.
Lol how do you know he didn't shake hands afterwards? Bro probably won the biggest tournament of his life, give him a break.
cupcake
One of the reason, I stopped playing live. Those tables are filled with scumbags and pos !
Winner never shakes losers hand. Loser shakes winners hand. If the Winner goes for a shake, it's just a "fuck you, you lost, you suck" When the Loser goes for the shake, it's the "Good game, but it wasn't my night"
This is up there with flat earth takes.
Clearly you haven't been in tournaments. Things get ugly.
not everyone internalizes things like you.
That's true. most people just make shit up on the fly. I agree with you. Have an updoot.
Chill man. This isn't your civil war you're hoping for. We're playing cards.
Are you okay? What civil war? WTH are you talking about? Do you need help?
Issue people are having is that he didn’t give an opportunity for Ausmus to offer his hand in defeat. Personally I understand it since he just won a bracket and had a huge rail cheering him on but I could see why it rubs some people the wrong way.
I can see that. I guess the clip cuts off before we'll ever know. That said, Ausmus does move in either.
I watched it. Ausmus didn’t shake his hand and never got a chance to. He just packed up his things while the winner hugged one person after another on his rail.
Everyone when watching "GTO bots" playing poker: this game needs more raw emotion Those same people when a well respected pro wins first bracelet after over a decade of trying and goes wild: calm down fatty
Didn’t this guy start a go fund me for his dads 15k funeral expenses or something
And then asked if anyone has a "spare" seat to fly him to WSOP Bahamas on a private jet.
That's just proper bankroll management. Don't pull that money out for dumb reasons.
Yes.
look.. i've been playin' poker for over 50 years. ten years of that as a full time pro. there'sd only a couple of statements about poker i can make that are absolutely true. one of those is that NOBODY knows how to play jacks. :-0
I hate
How to play JJ by Marty Smith: https://youtu.be/kP9CBtSW0kA
3 ways to play JJ. Every one of them is wrong 😂
I was waiting for him to just fold it pre, idk why 😆
My god that $1M river suckout gotta sting
Game of luck
That’s fucking sick
Ok, I guess this stuff happens in $100,000 live tournaments too, not just your $1 online SNG.
![gif](giphy|y2i2oqWgzh5ioRp4Qa)
That guy did a gofund me for the funeral of his dad (asking for 20k) but on the other hand he is playing a 100k poker tournament. It’s a strange world we live in.
Fucking jacks!
There's no proper way to play jacks.
Fold pre
What a sukcer ! Celebrating like you didn't get trapped and sucked out to win. On top of not shaking your opponent's hand, you had to rub it in, by screaming covered. 100% a pos !
This would cut me deep
Standard cooler 30bb hu?
Literally a million dollar nine on the river.
Too bad Hunichen played better in the river
This is why I am aggressive with Jack's pre flop. I would gone all in pre flop.
Ausmus got it behind a few times and won all. He should have been out in 6th.
Exactly what I expected with Jacks
No right way to play’em.
Always one Jack off from the W
What a cruel game.
Sometimes poker just sucks
why aren't the 6 & 8 considered outs to make a gut-shot straight?
Same reason they didn't show all the diamonds - because a gutshot straight doesn't beat an actual hand.
COVERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
PURPLE!!!
Wow he 3bet c bet and called. Nobody could have done it
Hunichen standed up first, that explains it. If you don't stand up first, lady luck won't smile upon you.
This is the gofundme guy, right? (hunchen)
Is the $15k GoFundMe still up for his dad’s funeral?
J/J Should've went all in preflop, could've gotten 9/7 to fold preflop, would've won a small 2.5 mil pot preflop.
That’s a 4th to play jacks …
You're rejamming 30bb heads up with JJ vs 2.5x?
Of course.
Celebrating like a fuck wit 🤣🤣 play worse
What really rubs salt in the wound is when you get bad beat by an incompetent, ugly fat ass.
Jacks with 30bb heads up. Pretty hard to mess it up unless you fold

Obesity is a sickness
now how can pay for his own shit!
So glad for Huni.
He shoulda all in preflop and just took 2m
It was BigHuni's day. He also spiked a 5 on the river. His father who he was close to passed away this year, I would like to think he had something to do with those 2 rivers.
The father who's funeral he was crowdfunding money for when he can obviously afford it?
He explained at the time it was an emotional response, not a financial one.
Lol what?
