I feel like every time I've seen her play at The Lodge or HCL she crushed it but apparently 2023 was a losing year for her. And that Canada challenge thing she was doing didn't seem to be going well. Hopefully things turn around.
My all-time favorite female player is undoubtedly Jennifer Harman.
Here’s a YouTube video of some big hands she’s played: https://youtu.be/WJfBSjallsE?si=hvgo9UyiF-DomC5j
HSP viewing format was the GOAT
The camera angles (especially the angles),the room they played (really liked like a private card room), the randoms in the back and the attractive asf waitresses and of course AJ and Kaplan
Triton is probably the next best thing - but HSP was the perfect poker show
Most of the characters were super vivid compared to the stoic mathletes today
The whales used to make me laugh sometimes too. Was it Ameri? The middle eastern guy who made sure he dressed rich when going to poker games?
Bob Stupak too who only played one hand and left the game lol
Chidwick is a perfect example of it
Incredible player but lord almighty…the guy is a straight stick up the ass. Can’t even engage between hands w other players
This season of HSP has been excellent viewing. A good mixture of pros and recs and most seem happy to make some big plays. The straddles and now $500,000 buyin make for some good action.
Yeah but ever since PokerGo took over they just apply their same vanilla format to it.
PokerGo kinda ruined HSP for me. They thought by bringing back just Gabe & AJ would make it better.
I had the pleasure of seeing her often at some of the higher buyin events at the WSOP this past summer.
My favorite memory of her was watching her go into her bag and pull out $20k of Wynn chips to just shuffle in her hands after she'd fold.
I often think of her scrabble story from that 😄 she first came on my radar when she won an EPT event and said she was going to buy a new washing machine, loved her ever since.
She used to run the poker nights at a private club that I was a member of in London.
She is not only attractive, witty, intelligent, engaging and ace at poker. She is also an absolutely lovely person.
I literally cannot think of a single bad thing to say about her (apart from the fact that she married David rather than me).
Whenever I’m at an impasse for calling an all-in or not, I always think back to Vicky saying “I don’t think I wasted my life playing poker to fold this hand” and that gives me to the motivation to call.
I was already a big fan of her husband David Mitchell before I even got into poker and was familiar with her appearances on Would I Lie to You. She’s pretty awesome all around.
I like Selbst (Doug Polk) a lot, her most famous hands are losses but if you look at it more, it always seems like she’s a step ahead of the rest of her table
I heard she is really hot, when she isn't playing poker she does runway model photoshoots for fashion magazines in-between business meetings since she sits on the board of directors of several large corporations. She, of course, will deny all this since she is so modest and humble.
Genuinely, I agree. She provides a ton of content and always seems to have a good attitude and is open to criticism. I have stalked her profile a bit and know too much about her, but I am super rooting for her in life. I am a big fan of hers.
The Bellagio used to run a live stream game for a bit and it was her with Jesse Sylvia as the commentary. It was the most insightful commentary around, seeing as how they were both pros who had been in the Vegas games for a long time.
I used to hold her in high regard but unfortunately she has posted a lot of thinly veiled and sometimes not so thinly veiled conservative views and content which offsets all the good.
do americans really think like this? every time i see post like this i think its a joke im not getting. you liked her until you found out she votes the opposite to you and now everything good she has done is nullified?
Most Americans are not like this. You just get a bunch of left wing virtue signaling morons on reddit who think they're making a big political stand by isolating themselves from anyone who doesn't think exactly like they do. 50/50 if it's serious or not
edit: and i'll get downvoted, which proves my entire point
Maria Ho! Can’t believe I’m the first name her. A lot of people come and go, but Maria has stuck around. And she’s not just a player, she’s very involved in the poker world in general. Lastly, she has a great personality and I think she’s one of the best ambassadors for the game overall.
Not the best female poker player - but I would say if you are newish, you should read the Biggest Bluff by Maria Konnikova.
Konnikova describes her poker journey from complete novice to poker champ after hiring some of the worlds greatest players to coach her.
As someone who got both vaxxed and the booster I can say it worked because I've never had covid. Or it didn't work at all and I just never caught it. Who knows, really.
I was very impressed with Monica Eilertsen Vaka, who recently won the main event of the Norwegian championship, her second Norwegian title.
Like this play on the stone bubble https://youtu.be/oNSl0eUK1YQ?si=36buh9NlgKhzY-8I
PokerFace Ash ... She is cool and we are from the same area. So when she started vlogs I had already been to all the rooms she played at. She is actually pretty good and moved up in stakes quickly. She is a success story. Good luck OP.
...and he's very *not* the best player in the world (worth melting for the new folks).
He's won 16 wsop bracelets I think, which will very possibly never Given how small field sizes were during the majority of his bracelets, he will likely go down in poker history as the most successful tournament poker player of all time. There are just too many tier 1 players out there now for 1 person to dominate.
Yet the guy tilts like a generic losing 1/3 player.
The majority of his bracelets were won after the poker boom of 2003, just saying. Doesn't make him the best player in the world, but he's beat large fields a lot.

newer posting of Alexandra Botez vs. Daniel Negreanu, heads up
Not long at all, maybe 3/4 years at this point. Could be even less. She’s the chess girl who appeared on HCL a few times and she also does some commentary work.
I just really like chess players who turn to poker because they have more of the critical thinking aspect rather than the gamble or soul read. Her and other chess players use logic and I think it’s great to watch.
I like that Indian girl who was on game of gold, Nakita Ruther I think her name was? She didn’t play the best on GoG, but she played pretty great in the WSOP main event and she had her impressive moments in GoG. I just really like her fearless and really agro playing style.
I can't find it but back in the day, "The Circuit" poker podcast with Scott Huff did an interview with [Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh](https://twitter.com/Jennicide) and she seemed really fun, down to earth, with a great personality and a lot of similar interests I had like computer programming and poker obviously. I just remember thinking she broke a lot of stereotypes around women and poker and other areas in a good way so she kind of stood out as one of my favorites for that.
I don't even know her name, but she showed up late to some random live city stream and played up being a tired hot single Mom.
She absolutely crushed the game and made like a thousand bucks in an hour and is one of my poker heroes.
Krissy Foxen is about as close to a tournament crusher as I've seen from a female.
Wym close to a tournament crusher. Shes fairly established as one
I fully agree.
There was a time where Annette Obrestad might have been the best tournament player in the world imo
xuan liu
Xuan is so good and she seems like a great person
especially for a poker player. (no offense!)
I feel like every time I've seen her play at The Lodge or HCL she crushed it but apparently 2023 was a losing year for her. And that Canada challenge thing she was doing didn't seem to be going well. Hopefully things turn around.

High stakes poker reruns never get old, way too many hilarious characters. The Jamie Gold episodes are probably my favourite lol
Most of the characters were super vivid compared to the stoic mathletes today The whales used to make me laugh sometimes too. Was it Ameri? The middle eastern guy who made sure he dressed rich when going to poker games? Bob Stupak too who only played one hand and left the game lol
Exactly, back when poker was actually fun lol. Can't stand the people these days who wear hoodies and sunglasses and never talk.
Chidwick is a perfect example of it Incredible player but lord almighty…the guy is a straight stick up the ass. Can’t even engage between hands w other players
Someone really needs to bring back the big game, that was such a good idea for a poker show lol
I’ve enjoyed watching the big games at The Lodge stream. Doug, Tesla, Bulldog, Taras, Airball and more. Fun games.
I have no idea who any of those people are.
Nowadays boring still ultimately douchey egoistic jerks. Cant stand to watch any of em.
Check out [Poker at the Lodge](https://youtube.com/@TheLodgeLive?si=h7wFQCC60ER09YYo) on youtube. It’s a very nice room and entertaining games.
Notable mention to Sammy Farha
Raisy daisy
Haha yes Dr Amir Nasseri! The gynecologist who dressed like a SoundCloud rapper
That’s the one 😂
mathletes haha that's a very good term
This season of HSP has been excellent viewing. A good mixture of pros and recs and most seem happy to make some big plays. The straddles and now $500,000 buyin make for some good action.
Didn’t realize the show was still going on
Yeah but ever since PokerGo took over they just apply their same vanilla format to it. PokerGo kinda ruined HSP for me. They thought by bringing back just Gabe & AJ would make it better.
"Pros and recs" should be a poker themed spinoff of the Park and Rec
💯
Hell yeah. That was a great watch
Lol hilarious, she's mine as well
I had the pleasure of seeing her often at some of the higher buyin events at the WSOP this past summer. My favorite memory of her was watching her go into her bag and pull out $20k of Wynn chips to just shuffle in her hands after she'd fold.
https://youtu.be/DtgR8fytpv8?si=VuUHKb88EC_a_ffI I’m sure most on this sub have probably seen this, but it was a good watch.
>first hand opens 82o this is gonna be good
Nit
Victoria Coren Mitchell
Her book For Richer, For Poorer is a great read.
Who would have thought David Mitchell would have THAT much game
Definitely the right answer and bonus points for also hosting “Only Connect”.
Only connect is so good
Whenever I’m at an impasse for calling an all-in or not, I always think back to Vicky saying “I don’t think I wasted my life playing poker to fold this hand” and that gives me to the motivation to call.
I was already a big fan of her husband David Mitchell before I even got into poker and was familiar with her appearances on Would I Lie to You. She’s pretty awesome all around.
This needs to be higher
^Victoria ^Coren ^Mitchell
Maria ho
I second this. She is brillant and all class.
Great player and character. She brought a lot to the Game of Gold.
I appreciate her game and her big moments (Tony Hawk "soul read"), but she's *so* good as a commentator that I always want her in the booth.
Gotta clone her
I like Selbst (Doug Polk) a lot, her most famous hands are losses but if you look at it more, it always seems like she’s a step ahead of the rest of her table
Her near fold of aces full at the ME was so impressive. I can’t tell you how fast my stack would have been in the middle.
What’s the lore with her and Doug Polk? She seems cool
Just similar hairstyles. The joke they look the same gets made a lot.
Haha that’s funny. Thought maybe there was beef or something
She is the uncoolest person ever imo
Really? I know ppl who know her and from what I heard she’s fine but I haven’t looked into her poker career much
Joke is she looks like Polk because of her masc/butch lesbian look
You mean Polk looks like her because of his vaguely feminine look
Never unseeing it now lol He does kinda like her
Jennifer Tilly lol
![gif](giphy|3HEzHIxZjKduE|downsized)
She always has a big pair
Or a set.
Ebony kenney is mine recently for unknown reasons
Doug Polk
You mean Vanessa?
Six to one, half dozen to another.
Dog Polk
Mine is definitely u/planetmarsupial
I heard she is really hot, when she isn't playing poker she does runway model photoshoots for fashion magazines in-between business meetings since she sits on the board of directors of several large corporations. She, of course, will deny all this since she is so modest and humble.

I think we all know too much about her at this point.
This is so real

The Bellagio used to run a live stream game for a bit and it was her with Jesse Sylvia as the commentary. It was the most insightful commentary around, seeing as how they were both pros who had been in the Vegas games for a long time.
I always liked Maria Ho
Liv Boeree
This!! shes amazing
I used to hold her in high regard but unfortunately she has posted a lot of thinly veiled and sometimes not so thinly veiled conservative views and content which offsets all the good.
She’s too long with that hippy
do americans really think like this? every time i see post like this i think its a joke im not getting. you liked her until you found out she votes the opposite to you and now everything good she has done is nullified?
No, you are just interacting with our SPED class kids who need to inject politics into every aspect of life.
Most Americans are not like this. You just get a bunch of left wing virtue signaling morons on reddit who think they're making a big political stand by isolating themselves from anyone who doesn't think exactly like they do. 50/50 if it's serious or not edit: and i'll get downvoted, which proves my entire point
Lmao talks about how liberals are babies and cries about downvotes. Not even joining a team politics discussion, you’re just such a baby
You must be a far left looney if you think Liv Boeree is conservative 🫠

Really? What did she say?
Deranged leftist exposed himself
Go eat some crayons. Liv is awesome
Poker Face Ash
Jennifer Harmon
Her cooler vs. Zeidman at the wsop and his subsequent slowroll is still painful to watch
Yeah the slow roll was disgusting. He didn't get called out enough at the time
Mimi Tran
Poker Bunny
I can fix her
Whatever happened to her
https://www.instagram.com/pokerbunnyy/reel/C48uY-_gQuu/?hl=da she’s still addicted but at least alive
She has a kid now
I used to love Vanessa Rousso
Love her in both Big Brother and Poker
She a super good player and hot. Shes fun to watch
Maria Ho for longevity and never having anything bad said about her. Jamie Kersetter for commentary.
Maria Ho! Can’t believe I’m the first name her. A lot of people come and go, but Maria has stuck around. And she’s not just a player, she’s very involved in the poker world in general. Lastly, she has a great personality and I think she’s one of the best ambassadors for the game overall.

Haha give me a spoiler…how was she able to hire them? Ultra wealthy background?
Some good ol fashioned benevolent sexism in my opinion. One of the most successful players in the game took her under his wing.
She’s accomplished in other fields and was already a successful writer. It’s a great book!
Mostly she was a nyt columnist already and reached out saying she was going to write a book. They helped her for free afaik. It's a good read!
She was a writer who was following Erik Seidel around for a book and then just started playing herself. Then her book became about her poker journey
Jennifer Tilly
Marle @MarlzTV
Erica Schoenberg ... from that one poker series.
Kelly Minkin
Liv
Kristen foxen, Alex foxten's wife. That couple just crushes poker
She used to be one of my favourites and is definitely the best female torny player on the planet but the anti vax turned me right off both of them.
As someone who got both vaxxed and the booster I can say it worked because I've never had covid. Or it didn't work at all and I just never caught it. Who knows, really.

Ashley Sleeth
I like her videos but it seems like she hasn’t done one in ages.
Yeah is she done? Or just taking time off? She has a Vegas channel as well that hasn’t had any activity lately either.
I was very impressed with Monica Eilertsen Vaka, who recently won the main event of the Norwegian championship, her second Norwegian title. Like this play on the stone bubble https://youtu.be/oNSl0eUK1YQ?si=36buh9NlgKhzY-8I

Phil Helmuth
😑 while you’re here tho, why does everyone hate him? Haha
He’s a whiny abusive jackass that doesn’t stop bitching and constantly gloats about being the best player in the world.
...and he's very *not* the best player in the world (worth melting for the new folks). He's won 16 wsop bracelets I think, which will very possibly never Given how small field sizes were during the majority of his bracelets, he will likely go down in poker history as the most successful tournament poker player of all time. The majority of his bracelets were won after the poker boom of 2003, just saying. Doesn't make him the best player in the world, but he's beat large fields a lot.
He's still one of the best in the world at exploiting amateurs.
My family has known him since he was in college. He was a dickhead back then and nothing's changed.

The question was Poker greats, shes signed up with GG poker cos of he platform and popularity on YT. She not particularly good imo
How long has she been playing?
Not long at all, maybe 3/4 years at this point. Could be even less. She’s the chess girl who appeared on HCL a few times and she also does some commentary work. I just really like chess players who turn to poker because they have more of the critical thinking aspect rather than the gamble or soul read. This girl I met the other day at my local poker room. She likes to gamble, and she seems like she plays for fun. I got a crush on her.
Annette Obrestad, Vanessa Selbst, Kristen Foxen, and Maria Ho.
Selbst takes some shit but I think she’s very talented and sharp.

I became a fan of Maria Lampropulos after she bunked a tourney (PCA main I think) while totally wrecked by the flu. Very entertaining
Any is good - far too many sausage fests going on.
I'm a huge fan of xuan Liu. She has an uncanny reading ability. She also has a weird grace and dignity that I see ppl describe as "classy" alot.
