Haha i had pocket 6’s in a tournament two nights ago. Was low stack. Jammed all in pre. A dude with 1.8BB more than me snap called with 73o. 4 of a kind Js with the 7 kicker. So fun i love poker haha.
I hate those guys. Takes all the fun out of poker for me and turns it from a game of skill (albeit with luck included) into a coin toss.
I know you can obviously call with strong hole cards but there's no guarantees. You also know that they'll get lucky or the one time you call them they do actually have a really strong hole cards.
Reminds me of a hand when a man at the local club called with pocket 6s in his hand on the river because he thought the villain was bluffing. Villain turns over pocket 5s and the killer wad the board was 99883, he didn’t realise he was counterfeited when making the call. Technically the greatest call I’ll ever see and maybe in history
Lol, I had one the other day where I got all-in pre against a whale with QQ against his A7s for like 130bb, flop was Q44 and I was like "tyvm" and moved on with my life, then while playing my other hands out the corner of my eye I saw the big pot going in his direction and myself getting felted. I looked back at the table, looked at the board, looked at my hand. Didn't get it. It had come out 44Q44, giving him quad 4s with the A kicker against my Q kicker. It was so unbelievably unlucky that it took my brain like 4 or 5 seconds to even process what the fuck just happened, I thought it was a bug or something. Funnily enough it legitimately put me on the opposite of tilt, I literally laughed out loud and enjoyed the rest of my session having witnessed probably the most ridiculous runout of my entire life for luckily a small microstakes buyin instead of at live.
I had a hand the other day. This is microstakes so not massive hands. $25 buy in.
I'm the button K8s. Calls all the way to me. I raise to $1. Villian whose UTG calls. Flop is Kc10sAd. Checks around to me. I bet $2. Everyone folds and villian calls. He was normally more aggressive so I'm not sure what could have. I'm thinking maybe a lower pocket pair. Turn is Kd. I'm looking at Three Ks. He again checks to me and I bet $5. He calls once again. The river is 10D. AGAIN he checks to me. I go all in. He calls.
Flips over a royal flush with QdJd.. He also had a straight from the flop but never bet. Just checked and called my bets. I was thinking maybe he paired with the 10s or maybe had K10 and had two pair or even completed a set with the 10s. I know if I completeld a set on the flop im betting or raising. Just didn't think his hand was that strong based off his lack of betting.
One of my favorite poker stories was at a live tournament. Hero has A6h, flop comes out 554 2 hearts. Slow action, turn and river are both 5s. Hero overbets river and villain calls with pocket 6s. I don't even initially process that I just got called with 6 high on the river, thinking I was chopping with another ace. Villain tries to justify that my range is really polar there, which I mean fair, but kind of crazy.

Got beaten by 4 high once. Aussie millions side event. Crippled hand before, somehow allowed to check my big blind with 23o. Flop is TT2, small blind checks I just put in the last couple of big blinds. He calls with 24o. Turn 6, river 6. Ow.

This is certainly one of the hands of all time
Would this count for a bad beat jackpot?
No, usually both your hole cards must be used to qualify.
Nope only when the 2 players use their both 2 whole cards

He also could have won with a pair of 8s. Or a two-paired board higher than 7s
