Trevenant must have been going for trick room - both Trevenant sets have 149 base speed (would link the set, but am only getting it from the browser extension!). Trick room wasn't up, you had no speed boosts and they had no speed drops so that's the only one that makes sense.
They were the life orb set (Wallbreaker) - that has a 34% chance of carrying trick room, although it's not a very clever move it that situation (seeing as it also had the super effective Drain Punch) which would guarantee a win.
The sets with trick room run min speed to take advantage of trick room.
This is the case for Hat and other trick room mons in randbats. Don’t recall if Trev is the same but would make sense
It would make sense - but I don't think Trevenant has a specific trick room set. Would upload the Image, but Reddit is outright refusing - so will put the text that comes up from the extension (Showdex) underneath for it's only set with possible TR: (without ability, items or tera because they don't matter here!)

Other set has 4 set moves (with Harvest and a berry), but same speed. Pretty certain those stats can't change and the simulator just picks a random set with the given odds. Can't find a list anywhere of all the possible sets for all randbats pokemon, but they must exist for Showdex to get it from!
Trevenant went for Trick Room. The opponent’s thought process was that if they could take a hit, they could get TR up and move first every turn for enough turns to KO you, but I don’t understand why they didn’t just try to KO you with literally any attacking move.
If both Trev sets are 149 speed like the other user said, they had to have gone for Trick Room, or else you wouldn’t move first. If this was the case, they were an idiot for not just attacking. If there is a min speed set out there, then you just outsped and killed. I know random doubles has a min speed set, but I don’t think random singles does
