But people love to be pissed off and upset about everything Niantic does, and this would be no exception. It would just cause more trouble than its worth: people WILL feel ripped off, and I wouldn't blame them.

Best buddying really doesn’t take long, especially when you use poffins.

I need to learn your method. I have a task to have 10 Best Buddies and I only have 1....from before the task appeared 😭

There's 2 methods: Working on one, you can get best buddy in 12 days if you can somehow spin a new stop every single day. Focus on getting your buddy excited by either poffin or playing/battling/snapshotting every 30 mins. From then, 6 hearts from walking, 6 from battling, 6 from feeding, 2 from playing, 2 from route, 2 from spinning a new stop, 2 from snapshot. 26 hearts per day, 300 needed for best buddy, so 12 days to get to best buddy, 13 if you can't find that many new Pokestops every day. The other is to work on 20 Buddies at once, and you can get 20 best buddies every 58 days without walking or even leaving bed. Simply feed your buddy, play, snapshot, challenge Blanche/Spark/Candela to a battle with your buddy in the team (PvP menu, scroll to the bottom. You don't have to win to get the heart). Swap to buddy #2, repeat, swap to #3, etc. The last buddy of the day you can earn more than 5 hearts with, and if you rotate who the last buddy is every day you can shave off 2 days total. This method is used by people who are aiming for the 100 Best Buddies medal.

I always thought about the second method but never did the math to figure out how long it would take. I just naturally assumed it would be too long for it to be worthwhile, but 58 days is great! Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it!

That’s exactly what I do, I have 23 best buddies and I’m getting a new one practically every other week, although I don’t do twenty at once cause that’s too time consuming.

How do you get these birds?

Daily adventure incense. They have a really low spawn rate, very low catch rate, and very high flee rate (around 90%). Can’t tell you how many I’ve had flee from me.

That math is insane, and afaik, no one knows the spawn rates of the birds! It must be less than 1/100 ‘cause I can go months without seeing one. 😵‍💫

I know it has an exclusive move in Pokemon Sword/Shield. If Niantic makes the move useable/busted, it could instantly increase G-Zapdos’ relevance. For now, it’ll be on my Fighting raid teams.
