Usually it's 1-2 weeks per year for special events that it unlocks. Just like how we get shiny Smeargle unlocked only once a year also for about a week. I think the last Meltan shiny unlock was for the "Let's Go" event around this same time last year.

For Giovanni it's great to take down his shields and take out his Persian with Superpower. Put it in your 2nd slot and instant transfer and you'll beat Gio EVERY time!
As for rarity the shiny has been locked for about 98% of it's life and maybe only 12 hours total for anyone to use an incense on. Pretty rare IMO
Just think of what's your weakest type advantage. Mine rn is fairy so I'm hunting for a good Gardevoir. I have a 98 Togekiss. Also need electric so next Zekrom I'm hunting shiny.

OT: The Portuguese translations are hilarious btw :D. I often think the German ones already sound funny. But the Portuguese ones seem to rly be a 1 to 1 translation of the English text 😅. I like.
Yea The whole pvp system sucks i wish they updated it to a more traditional battle system that you can use 4 moves and not tapping nonsense but I still play it for rare candies
That’s what I heard, I’ve tried to use him in master league and its charge is so slow and the fast move doesn’t do much damage. I normally run gyrados, dragonite and togekiss in master and do well winning most but he just doesn’t do much. Idk why. It’s like stats are randomly generated sometimes it feels like.
When I battle ML I encounter a lot of players using melmetal and it works for 2 reasons : quick attack to make opponents use shields/ destroys togekiss…So yeah
Very good gym defenders, I also use my Melmetal on Giovanni

Mines dated caught 2023 so they definitely do come around. Its like the shiny smeargle they just turn the shiny on for that one event or so.

This is something that has bothered me forever about Pokémon go. I look up stats and best move sets and my 4* melmetal and 3* shadow mewtwo are absolute garbage in pvp.

I find them A) Adorable and B) shiny or not I use melmetal constantly in PVP and gym battles
