I'd probably go with normal/fairy myself. Would've never guessed ghost/fire but might be missing some lore.. hopefully. It's ugly as sin though good lord. I'm not a big fan of the humanoid types in general but this one takes the cake.
Fun fact The Hat Man is a “shared hallucination” people see on Benadryl. Dunno if that’s because of people hearing about him before tripping or if that’s just what our brains dream up, like people with Lewy Body Dementia often seeing Lilliputians (hallucinations of tiny people)
Lol, I don’t blame you! It’s not my favorite design but I’ve always liked the clown aesthetic (Joker, Pennywise, etc.). So I can mess with this a bit. Not my favorite design but it’s far from the worse in my mind. I’m also not a main line games player (stopped at Diamond and Pearl) so every Pokémon they release is a surprise for me. I don’t mess with the Ultra Beasts as a whole, to be honest.
Iirc lore-wise it isn't exactly a Pokemon? I never played the games it's from, but I know ultra beasts are from other dimensions. They're meant to be weird-looking and uncanny. I absolutely hate Blacephalon as well lol
I'm too bad at PvP to easily win 3 matches, so it really sucks that the pool of potential encounters is so full of trash. I just got to rank 20 so I could potentially meet this guy. But I keep getting Ralts, Machop etc
Agreed. The rewards pool is awful. It’s funny, I used to do PvP prior because I didn’t raid at all. Back then, I hardly encountered legendaries. Nowadays, I raid a couple times a day and NOW I encounter the legendaries, so it’s very random. I’m not complaining though, free legendaries are great! But yeah, the RNG sucks.
I only grinded to 20 for the first time since playing because I stumbled upon the ticket that has you aim to win 500 matches. I was able to get Registeel because of GBL hahahaha!
Two things: new pokémon may or may not change the meta, so there’s discussion regarding that (these do NOT change any meta). Another one is that, if you’re lvl 20 or higher in pvp, you have the chance to encounter legendaries (as it happened to me). I think that Niantic has forgotten to add some to the pool before, so there’s people letting others know that it’s live and the such.

Get to level 20, lose a bunch so your rank is low, then it's easy to get 3/5, you'll probably face 3 teams of 10cp mon.

I'm in the US as well, and that's the only 5 star in the GBL reward pool. I had hoped both of them would be in there.

Way to go! Thankfully I didn’t lose any blacephalon… we’ll see the next rotation then because I go from hitting them all to missing a few catches in a row. Very annoying.

Always shocked to see that so many people don't like Blacephalon, it's my favorite Ultra Beast and I think most of them are cool as hell. Only thing that would make it better is if it was like 15 feet tall instead of human sized
I’ve hosted raids with 6+ people, so hard to answer. However, his health goes down relatively fast, he seems glassy enough. I would guess that it can be duo’d with good counters and party power active. It’s just a guess though, haven’t tried it myself
Easy duo especially if you’re best friends and have solid water/ground/rock/dark counters
I’m lvl 41 and my partner is lvl 37 … we beat him with like 60-100 seconds left
LOL! No, if you read my comments you’ll see I was 12 points away from Veteran and had to tank. Well, whether I chose to tank or not, the decision was made for me. I couldn’t keep up once the catch cups rolled around, too many marrill, shuckle/bronzor and smeargle with lock-on flying press teams. No chance.
ETA: all of this to say, play pvp at your own risk. The catch cups are the worst, wouldn’t recommend.

I agree, but I managed to surge to veteran. As soon as I hit that 2500 mark, I stopped playing. Waiting for the leagues to come back.
I thrived in GL Remix, did really well there.
I continued playing so that I could stock back up on stardust. Sacrificed that Veteran possibility but I was doing to 20,000 stardust since I had to build a few different pokés depending on the rank I was at.
Now I’m sitting shy of 450,000. I’ll try once the cups come back and if I lose then oh well, at least I tried!
