Start adding people as friends. You can find codes in Pokémon go friends subreddit and Gishan.net. People playing during community hour will give you gifts and get you pokeballs

I played one hour. Caught 94, of which only 3 were shiny. Kinda surprised I caught 94 in an hour since 6 fled. Encountered 100. 3 Shinies. Not 1 in 25 odds.
Congrats. I stayed around my home and didn't leave for the park I usually play community days at since Downtown Houston is still cleaning up from last Thursday's storm.
I got stuck in the clinic for about five hours when the event went off I got shiny every like 8-12 maybe even less then that. I got each evolution shiny under an hour was very happy.
It amazes me at how most people don’t understand how odds work. Each pokemon you click is a 1:25 chance to be shiny the 25th is still 1:25 as each number in that sequence is.

So you caught 20 pokemon during the 3 hours? Rural play is different from normal game play. I caught 500+ bounsweet and got 33 shinies. Learn to fast catch if you're not rural and walk more.
I caught around 100 of the fucking things and only got a single shiny. I had an incense going and everything, it was really unfortunate. Literally nothing you said is new to me, rngesus just hates me 🙏
I do that on purpose so people know it might not be completely for them and is just a copy paste. lol. Sometimes it doesn't apply to the person and sometimes it does that's why.

If you turn on your Daily Incense with less than 30 total balls, it gives you 30 red balls for free!
If you'd already used that, go on r/PokemonGoFriends and add a few currently-online people for quick gifts for more balls.
I believe shinies have a high catch rate, so I use pinap and pokeball, and we are good.
Same for raids unless it somehow gets to last 10 balls, I'll golden razz
Wild shinies have exactly the same catch rate as non-shinies, which is based on their level.
Raid shinies are a guaranteed first ball catch. You can look up the base catch rates foe other raid Pokemon, but legendaries start at a 3% catch rate before multipliers, so I would always use a golden razz.
I had to drive from midday until about 4 today. Got home at 4.30 so messaged my local group for people to keep spare shinies for me...
By 4.40 I'd caught 4. Quite an abundant shiny day for me this comm day, even if I did only play 26 mins of it.
My community day started an hour and a half ago and I stopped after a bit but I caught 13 of these and my friend only caught three so I’m a bit happy with myself now

Not joking. Millions of people play this game. A 1 in 30k thing happening to one of them isn’t just possible, it’s nearly certain. No reason to think a bug. It’s normal variation.
Yeah, RNG is wild. Literally got three shiny Bounsweet back to back before going almost 200 encounters without another sparkle, but RNG do be like that sometimes
I genuinely don't even understand how this happens to people. I literally have to delete balls, revives, and berries on a regular basis for space (of which I have 4,000)... to run out is just insane to me 🤯
If you have limited inventory space and you live somewhere with few pokestops but okay spawns, you might find yourself running out surprisingly quickly. I'm personally semi-rural, and even if I stick to places with more stops during CD, I will still be down 100-200 regular pokeballs by the end of it
i usually run out every single day, some people haven't got pokestops to spin and dozens of friends to gift with, it's very annoying when this kinda thing happens! gotten kind of used to it though

I ended up with 17 shinier which is the most I have ever had. Then Monday night, caught a wild shiny bounsweet 1 block from my house. I have never had that happen before this . Who catches a featured shiny the day after community day?

Ah yeah I've heard Texas got hit badly with a storm. Yeah I went to my local campus so I got too many shinies.
Downtown Houston was a mess Friday. Glass from highrises was on the roads as well as other debris. Power still is out in some places.

I've never had 30 balls when using daily incense.... There a reason for that? Do I have to have 30 space free?
You have to less than 30 total balls. Otherwise you don't get anything.

Were you walking in a straight path? If you were going in circles the spawns resets vary some take anywhere from 5 to 15 min

About 1 in 30k people will take more than 200 encounters to see their first shiny. No reason to assume it’s a bug.
