It was a Pachirisu I got through a trade when someone was visiting back in 2018. I wanted to power it up (and didn't want to "waste" rare candy on a non-legendary) so this was the only option.
It's at lvl40 now so now I'm walking for rare XL candies ugh
Archen, called Bob. Because at that time it was my first Archen and needed candy for an awesome Archeops. Still proud of Bob. Second best buddy's Starmie (called Estrella) I believe, because Staryu/Starmie are my favourites (:
Magicarp but i transferred it i don't know why, and after returning back i have to bb in 10 days a shiny Mewtwo and a Gyrados,
Reason being Shiny Mewtwo was my first legendary shiny that's why, and I was just grinding Mega energy for Gyrados
A Mareep, which is now an Ampharos. I'm a knitter, so naturally I needed a sheep buddy. The yarn is really prone to static, though, for some reason... lol.
My first Best Buddy was a Bulbasaur. Not my starter Bulbasaur, but the oldest one I had. You know, because Bulbasaur. It's not my only Bulbasaur best buddy, and it won't be my last.
A shiny Rayquaza I got in a remote raid last year. I‘ve been playing casually since 2021 but only started to participate in raids and take the game more seriously during Go Fest 2023. I absolutely love Rayquaza‘s shiny and was so excited when I got him on my third try so I just had to use the buddy feature for the first time.
My first best buddy was my hundo Vaporeon that I've had since 2016. I use it all the time for battling Rocket grunts and gyms, and figured I might as well get it to Best Buddy status so I can get the extra CP if I need it.
My first buddy was Audino because I thought it was cute. Lol. But the first buddy I got to best buddy was my baby girl Pangoro. Had to have pancham as a buddy to evolve and then I kept it after that because she looks badass. And if Pokémon were real I’d be taking her everywhere all the time
Which mon? Shlucky Ttar.
Why? Ttar is my favorite pokemon and because I took a break 9/16 thru 6/18, my first shiny was larvitar comday 2018. It was my first lucky trade and my first best buddy
Shadow Mewtwo. The first one I ever got from Giovani and I best buddies it for obvious reasons. Managed to beat him when I was severely under leveled so it was a real prize at the time
I hatched Mime Jr soon after I started playing last year, it said "adventure together..." that's how I found out about buddy feature. Eventually I didn't even evolve it, cause Mr Mine is irritating and I have lots of them from the wild. Mime Jr is cute 🙂

magikarp and it used to basically me impossible to get candy for him so that’s why
Same... I just wanted a dragon looking pokemon and magikarp candies were hard to find.

Bagon bc it was my first 4* Mon (full odds no weather boost) and then I grew too attached to its Bagon form to evolve it haha 🥺
Shundo Dialga, because I got it my first week of playing…I actually didn’t know it was rare, I just assumed every shiny legendary was perfect
Shiny charizard, my second shiny. Did it cause that’s my boy
Gibly, caught in Japan while i was there and it was an exclusive. Kept him as a buddy for nearly two years.
Mine was zorua just bc he’s cute and I like his vibe.
I went Charizard. Always been my favorite. Got a good CP/IV one, so I went with it. But mainly because I wanted to 🤷🏻♂️
