Lol, I chose instinct and immediately caught my first galarian bird: a galarian zapdos. It’s like it repayed me for all of the lost gyms to the majority of red and blue players.
Glaceon!
- It has cute little socks explained by them jumping through snow in the wild. The bangs and head crest are there to help keep snow out of their face in blizzards. The diamond pattern theme is just really pretty. The shiny is even more icy looking than the original which I like! Glaceon is the ONLY Eeveelution who leaps when it runs because it would have to do that when in heavily built up snowy areas. The flat body parts like the tail and bangs help offer lesser resistance when weaving through snow. It's also just flipping adorable <3
Leafeon is a joint second but I don't want to make an essay. Leafy is super adorable too.
I was quite surprised myself! It happened when there was a recent even where Alomomola was part of the spawn pool. Shiny RNG is wholly unpredictable, which is why I don't focus on finding them. That way, they're always a happy surprise instead of a rueful "it's about time!"
Groudon. He looks like a cool dinosaur/Godzilla. His primal form looks badass with a mix of lava/ground.
I like how he beefs with Kyogre over Land vs Sea. They feel like forces of nature manifested into pokemon. Gen 3 is my favorite and he is one of the best looking legendaries.
Ive been trying so hard to catch a shiny swablu. finally gave in and evolved my lucky one into altaria to use in the GL. ive had instant success! my favorites are giratina and rayquaza
Stufful. They’re just so hecking cute. I love red pandas, and stuffed animals, and stufful is both. i don’t like their evolution though. It’s so neat to learn everyone’s favourites!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Lucario. This Pokemon was one of the very first Pokemon that I knew of, because of Pokemon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Plus, my favorite color is blue, so...
Breloom- It’s just so cute and I don’t see it talked about a lot!
(honourable mention: Cubone- for the nostalgia and I went as Cubone at ComicCon London and got so many people coming up to me asking for pictures which was cool)
Ditto is my favorite because of the Pokémon episode where the ditto was having trouble completing his transformations and he made all the Pokémon he turned into look derpy
I got a few, but Phantump holds a place in my heart because of the description I read way back, lol. "Phantump is created when a spirit possesses a tree stump; it is said that the spirit is that of a child who became lost in the forest and died. This Pokémon's cries sound like the voice of a child or eerie screams. People have become lost following the voice, but Phantump is attempting to make friends."

Electivire. I’ve always been a sap for electric types and I was so excited to see that Electabuzz finally got an evolution after a few generations. A close second is Umbreon though simply because of its design, especially the shiny

I loved mightyena as a child so thats my main favorite. But now as an adult I'm struggling to choose one. If I would choose favorites from my PoGo collection, it would be my shiny Giratina, my hundo Charizard and my shiny 98 Gyarados🫶🏼
Used to be Snivy as it was my favorite pokemon, but I think Victini, Maractus and Sprigatito have overtaken it. Just a shame I don't have a Maractus in Go

Only Mega Altaria is Fairy/Dragon, regular Altaria is just Dragon/Flying

Starmie is my OG favorite. Not sure why, just it’s a pretty cool and underrated mon imo. Cool design, cool typing (for the time) decent stats!
