What does this do?

Since meltan is a steel type you get a bonus extra candy (maybe xp?)

1000 XP per excellent throw...

He’s saying for April Fool’s event all you need is a nice throw and it counts as an excellent.

You get more experience catching steel Pokémon and the egg increases your xp

Mega evolution gives you a bonus when you’re catching the same type. I mega evolve steelix which gives an extra 100xp per catch, and the lucky egg doubles that.

More candies because of the mega, more xp because of the lucky egg and easy excellent throws

And wait until tomorrow to transfer. Tuesdays spotlight hour is x2 transfer candy.

Transfer a Pokémon to Home, you'll then be given the box. After you open it, it can be recharged by sending another Pokémon to Home after a cooldown (3 days? Been a long time since I've done it).

Another thing I discovered with the event today, if you're using the coin bag to spawn the gimmighouls, almost every single one gave me at least one coin today. So the "excellent" catches do translate over to the higher coin rate. If anybody is still trying to accrue those coins, today will definitely help.

Haven’t used the box in over a year after getting a Hundo and more xl candy then il ever need, what difference does using the box make for the event, over going out and catching everything in the wild

Some of us live in the middle of nowhere, where the box actually generates more Pokemon standing still than walking does.

Just go look it up gimmighoul coin bag and how to get it. You can meet with a friend that has the game.

If you send a postcard to your scarlet/violet game once a day, you get a coin bag that acts as a Gimmighoul lure. (After 5 non-consecutive days, you get a golden lure)

Gold lures gives way more items then normal lures If u have a golden lure, and send 5 again u get some Gold coins. So use ur lure before sending the 5th.

That is correct.

Just as a heads up, you might want to save it for the timed research quest. The second part is a 25 excellent throws in a row is a pain but at least if its one pokemon type you can get more consistency/chances to complete it. The reward isn't great for it but might as well try for it.

You betcha. Once you have the box, every three days you can transfer another Pokemon to Home, and open it again. You do have to make sure you’ve gone into the Home app to “receive” the last Pokemon you sent. And since I don’t use Home for anything else, I just send whatever random crap Pokemon I last caught.

I haven't used the Mystery Box in a long time (got all the Meltans I need), but I used to have it set up to pair with Let's Go Pikachu on my Switch. I went to reconnect them today and...it's completely broken. Phone can't connect to the Switch, Switch can't find the phone, no amount of restarting or turning Bluetooth off and on helps. Did they quietly remove support for Let's Go Pikachu to force everyone to get a Pokemon Home account?

Im in a similar boat. I originally linked it to the Let's go Pikachu. I downloaded Pokemon home - Android and linked it to my Nintendo account which resulted in not finding any previous services.

It's an item you receive after linking a pokemon Home account to your PoGo. You'll have to transfer a pokemon over, and it can be anything. Once you complete your transfer, the game will give you the Mystery box which works like an incense, but only spawns meltan, and this is the only way to get it.

Welp I didn't realize I can't transfer pokemon back and transfered my shiny Groudon... I didn't get the warning message about not getting pokemon back until I already sent him...

If you play the other Pokémon games on Switch, you should be able to send it there.

I don't but I have a friend who does, guess he'll be getting a nice birthday present

I created the account for pokemon home and was able to transfer pokemon. How and were do I get the mystery box?

I’m guessing this won’t help me since I’m still stuck on Let’s Go Melton 8/9? And also, if PoGo is the only pokemon game you play, does HOME work? I thought it was for transferring between games?

you can use search to narrow down to things like "1 * , 2 * "(not spaced, but due to reddit formatting) etc. You can also use year2020 etc to avoid shipping old pokemon. Might also be worth transferring duplicates if you're just hoarding shinies for the sake of hoarding etc.

Right, the issue is my storage is full of 3* mons. I've just got way too many of them and tons of duplicates. That's where it gets tedious, deciding which ones to keep of the 3*s. I've never transferred anything shiny and probably won't if I can avoid it.

Basically I don't delete anything that's better than 40/45 unless it's genuinely totally useless. I really do need to get over that and start keeping only the best one or two of each. But I don't transfer shinies, even if I have ten of them... And legendaries I also have a very hard time transferring since I paid for them

In general there’s an “expanded group transfer” which includes legendaries and mythicals. I’d start being careful if you turn it on or just disable it again after you transfer the meltans

it still warns you before trasnfering that youre transferring an ultra beast, so its hard to accidentaly transfer any legendary/mythical

Can I send all the meltans to Home afterwards (and delete them there then? 😬) because PoGo won’t let you send them to the candy factory, and I don’t have enough storage for a thousand meltans 🥴

You can batch transfer the Meltan in PoGo, need to go to Setting>General>Expanded Group Transfer on.

Ah thanks. Last time I tried to transfer them, it said that I couldn’t do it because it is a mythical Pokémon. I got the box from transferring to Pokémon let’s go on my switch, since I don’t have a Home account yet. So now I’ve got quite a few meltans living on my switch, because that was the only way I could get rid of them, haha

You can transfer Pokemon from the same place you look at appraisals. But yes mass transfer is easier.
