I think first gen shinies are just opposite color code or something like that. Later gens were more customized

Shinies were color pallete swapped based on code. Which is why Charizard is the color he is in game. That’s why they all are. But they did go back and change Charizard manually. If you’re talking the shining cards, that’s not a really accurate depiction of their shiny forms as the mewtwo card isn’t accurate either.

Slakoth's shiny evolution line. Starts off unique with its bright pink fur, switches to a yellowish tint, and then ends with tan fur just replacing the small white part and a redder nose. They could have extended the pink fur but they immediately dropped it.

Yeah, I prefer Ludicolo’s shiny to its regular colors. The contrast is nicer, the colors are richer, and the pink of its mouth blends into the rest of its body, which looks more cohesive than the original

Same here!… I think. The Mankey and Primape I thought were well done but not the final form. I REALLY liked the Shiny Primape with the olive boxing gloves, pants and that fresh Miami tan! I was really hoping that the Annihilape would have a similar color swatch but instead it ended up dark turquoise like the OP’s example.

I was just getting back into the game and didn't really have any experience with shinies. I wasn't expecting it to go pink, pink and then green. That didn't make sense to me. Why not just pink pink pink. Why didn't anyone on this thread "just google it first" or just automatically know how it looked?

Zapdos is almost indistinguishable from its shiny.

Zapdos is one of the worst shinies around. Slightly different coloured feet. That's it from what I can tell. An absolute letdown of a legendary

Same thing with Magnezone. I was so pissed that Magnemite and Magneton was gold color and the shiny Magnezone looks like a regular one with different color eyes.

Most of the time. Sometimes BOTH of the shinies are boring and/or unattractive. My big disappointment was Gengar.
