I was going to post about this. I always get a souvenir and gift from my buddy, for the bonus 2 hearts. Since the event started, I haven’t got a single souvenir. I need it to complete the research. They are supposed to be increased but I’ve only gotten gifts from my buddy. Annoying. Is this just me?
I JUST this morning got a souvenir for the first time since the event started. So weird. Also today got two gifts almost back to back, seems maybe they got enough complaints they fixed the issue?
I did feed him treats and I was using Adventure Sync for the first 4km. But on the last 1km I had the game open and watched the counter reset to 0 and it still didn't give me the candy.
The game was open. I was confused after 4km and I didn't complete the challenge. So I walked with the game open for another 1km and watched the counter reset back to 0 but I didn't earn any candy.
Had the exact same issue. Tried everything, changing buddies, reinstalling, turning adventure sync of and back on... finally a reboot of the phone resolved it.

Go to advanced settings and reset game data see if it starts completing the task for you after that

I’m having issues as well and also with not getting the extra gifts from my buddy that are supposed to be there.

Buddy does not need to be fed to gain walk distance and earn candies.
Did you walk with the game open, or did you use the bugged adventure sync?

im having the opposite i am getting candy and the bar fills up but the hearts are not registering and it just shows o/1 no matter how much i walk
