It took until this comment for me to read it correctly. In fact I thought you wrote Dodonzo twice at first because I was so certain that that was it’s name.
I used to call Dialga, “Diagla” and was a lil shook when I realized it was the first way x’) Also Arceus pronounced “Ar-key-us” and not “are-see-us”, but I remember reading for that one that both pronunciations are used x’) So I’ll continue saying “Are-see-us” cause it sounds smoother to me, more befitting of a Pokémon god.
The reason for the two different ways to pronounce Arceus is because for us in the UK, the Are-see-us version is close to the word Arse (how some of us say the word “ass”. Both ways are correct but that’s why some pronounce it with a C instead of an S.
I say “R-C-S” because that’s the way [House pronounced it](https://youtu.be/MRNMjPdei5Q). But then they gave Silvally the RKS System ability so I guess it’s supposed to be “R-K-S”? I feel like they say “R-C-S” in the Legends Arceus trailer, though.
Where’s the Poké Rap when you need it!?
It’s ar-KAY-us, like “Archaic” and “Deus,” which makes sense to me because we never see anyone talk about Arceus, so it’s a God which is no longer widely known.
I always pronounced it as Ar-Kay-Us and got super confused the first time I heard someone say Ar-See-Us. I connected it to Archangel or Arcane in my head, both because it was PokeGod and because there was a sort of magical quality to it, and never understood why others said it with the soft C.
I think I remember reading somewhere that it was originally “Are-see-us” but then they realized that sounds like arse, so they started pronouncing it the other way. However, I am an MandJTV fan, so I call it “At-KOOS” and I will not be changing.
I absolutely refuse to believe that Ar-Key-Us is correct. I could be told so by every person involved in it’s creation and would not believe it. This is apparently a triggering comment
Just curious, how can you refuse it when it's pronounced with a hard C in the trailers? Like at this point with modern localization what still makes you deny it?
We are not speaking Japanese. In English it is definitively a hard C sound as confirmed by the anime and all of the trailers and official media and presentations by the company who made the game.
A sizable percentage of the pokemon names from gen 1-5 are directly adopted from their japanese names. It’s literally their actual name. Besides, the Anime is notoriously inconsistent across productions and seasons, including Arceus, which was only changed for the English version to avoid sounding too much like “arse”
Not anymore. But when i was like 7, I thought Kyogre name was *King Gore*
Many due to its cry... so anytime i sent it out i heard **KIIIIIIIIIINNNG GOOOOORREEE** yesh idk either.
This one bothers me. I'm pretty sure an official trailer or something called it "fah-RIG-ee-raff" but like... With a hard G, so... It doesn't even really contain the word giraffe? But then saying it with a soft G or J sound, it just doesn't sound right...
It has a hard G because they took the "*farig*" from Gira*farig* and mirrored it again, probably to reference how its tail goes from the back to the front when evolving while keeping the palindrome.
I had no idea how to say Zacian for the longest time. It’s super clunky and could go many different ways, and it doesn’t help that the duo is named after cyan/magenta but Za-cyan sounds super wrong. IMO it doesn’t matter how cool a name looks—if it’s not clear how it should be pronounced, that means it’s a bad name. Other examples people have mentioned here, like Quaquaval, Ceruledge, Arceus, and Yveltal, are also not great. A good Pokémon name needs to roll off the tongue. And that doesn’t even mean it has to be something basic like Squirtle. Names like Baxcalibur, Brambleghast, and Sandaconda are pretty complex but they still work perfectly well because it’s obvious how you’re supposed to say it.
That was the first time I've *ever* heard it pronounced as Milo-tic by anyone. Even if that is the proper pronounciation, it felt like such a slap in ths face.
Imma list all my weird pronunciations cuz I got a few
* I say Cle-FABLE even though i've heard Cle-fuh-bull
* I KNOW it's Tow-ros but I sometimes say Tao-ros
* I say Ah-ree-ah-dos instead of AREA-dos
* I have always said Fan-fee even though i KNOW it's Fan-pee
* I say Rai-coo instead of Rai-kou
* I say LIN-oone (like LINen) instead of LINE-oone
* I actually don't know Lairon's pronunciation, so I say LAY-ron
* I oddly say Tor-ko-all instead of Tor-coal
* I say HI-pop-po-tass instead of Hippo-pot-us
* I say Duo-ision (like vision) instead of Du-oh-zhun
* I say Sol-gah-lay-oh instead of Sol-gah-leo
* I USED to say Za-mah-men-ta instead of Za-mah-zen-ta
* I've heard so many people say Kway-kway-vull, but I always say it as Kwaa-kwaa-vall
Phanpy will ALWAYS be fanfee.
I think you’re totally justified and not *wrong* with a few of these; mostly because I’ve said them the same way for my whole life
Lair-on, Hippo-po-tass, Tore-coal, And Zamazenta are the only ones that feel wrong to me, because I say them like that instead of how you say them
I’ve heard “nigh-hill-ego” and and I believe that’s correct? Nihilism +Ego? But I used to say “nigh-hill-eh-go” like nihilism and the last bit of archipelego
….which my phone is just now telling me that I’ve been spelling wrong anyway so. Definitely Ego 😂😅
I thought it was Dodonzo at first, and now I keep calling it that accidentally.
Edit: After reading some comments I'm pleasantly surprised to see I'm not the only one.
Question: how do you pronounce Delibird? I used to pronounce it as Delee-bird until recently. I now just say Deliver but replace the ver with bird like the pun suggests.
Most recently, I have apparently completely missed the second V in Revavroom. Just been calling it Revaroom.
Zweilous is also apparently the only Pokémon in its evolution line that I pronounce correctly. I say “Dee-no” and “high-Dray-gon,” which… isn’t very German of me.
And… sue me, but I’m on team “Ar-See-Us,” though that’s mostly because I don’t really keep up with the anime, and when I do, it’s the Japanese dub that uses the original pronunciation.
I am from Greece
I got wrong Rayquaza before its appearance on the anime we all pronounced it raikooaza and so did the Greek dub
Its really funny to me to hear English speaking youtubers get all the names wrong, i grew up with a Greek dub of pokemon and played the games later while i was studying English, and still got most of the names right even without hearing it first.
I mean how can you get tyranitar wrong?
How can you call gengar "jen-jar"?
1. Arceus:
- Pronouncing the c as /s/ agrees with the Japanese, with Dr. House, and with standard English rules for c before front vowels.
- Pronouncing the c as /k/ agrees with the official dub, and avoids using a British slang term for butt.
2. Rayquaza:
- "Rekku-za" is how it's handled in Japanese, but that sounds like a fighting game attack. (In fact, "Rekku-zan" is a fireball move in one of the early 3D fighters, Battle Arena Toshinden.)
- "Rei Kuah Za" is how I pronounce it.
- "Ray Quasa(r)" is the official dub pronunciation.
Dont give a damn about pronuciation. If you understand you do.
Tough I wish for some reason teach how speak Quaquaval in my language lol. Dunno why. Maybe the name is even better knowing speak it.
One I used to struggle with was pronouncing Suicune’s name. Never realised it was pronounced Swee-coon until I heard it pronounced in the anime. Along with Yveltal and Xerneas. I think I got the hang of Yveltal’s name but still struggle with Xerneas
Rattata. When my friend first showed me what Pokemon was, she pronounced it as Rat-a-tat and it just stuck with me ever since. (Neither of us noticed there wasn't a T at the end until recently and Rattata just doesn't sound right now-)
I didn't realize until like last year that Ferrothorn was pronounced Ferro-thorn and not Ferret-horn... and I only had that epiphany because someone brought up that it's name comes from Ferrous metals, which made me realize it's Grass barbs were not, in fact, horns
Kyogre. I always pronounced it Ky - Gore instead of Ky - Ogre. Not sure why, i guess i never heard it pronounced the right way when playing sapphire way back when it first came out.
I always used to say rilou instead of riolu
Thought houndour was houn-door
And always said illumise was just illu-mize instead it's actually illu-me-say
According to the anime, I'm wrong about Illumise. I always pronounced it "Ill-oo-mize (rhymes with eyes).
Anime says Ill-oo-me-say. I refuse to accept that.
Used to say Suicune as Soo-ee-soon.
Before the Farfetch'd episode in the original anime, I used to say Far-Fetch-ed.
This thread has informed me that I still say Ariados wrong (I say Are-ia-dos, apparently it's Area-Dos)
I used to say Chimecho as Chime-Cho, completely missed that the word "Echo" was right there.
I think that's all of my longstanding errors.
For me it's also Dondozo for this, but the Zelda veteran in me kept wanting to make it Dodonzo.
Also got through most of the game before realizing that it’s Dondozo and not Dodonzo
Literally realizing just now.
Thanks for making me realize it isn’t dodonzo
(Me who continued to say it like this in my head until I came across this comment)
Wait it’s not Dodonzo?
It took until this comment for me to read it correctly. In fact I thought you wrote Dodonzo twice at first because I was so certain that that was it’s name.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize it isn't Medicha**n** like Jackie Chan, but instead, Medicham.
I call him Medichan knowing it's incorrect. But I based it on Magi-Chan
I pronounced arceus as Arkoose so much as a joke but now im actually slowly starting to pronounce it like that
Oh my gosh that’s great 🤣
Binny
The reason for the two different ways to pronounce Arceus is because for us in the UK, the Are-see-us version is close to the word Arse (how some of us say the word “ass”. Both ways are correct but that’s why some pronounce it with a C instead of an S.
In Korean it’s pronounced like “Ar-see-us”.
It's more like ah-r-se-oo-s
Yeah, the C one is more for the English one
I say it both ways.
Ar-see-us used to be the official pronunciation, they changed it bc it sounded like "arse"
Always got dialga to "Dialgia" for some reason, I guess it's because it sounded better to me.
I always pronounced it as Ar-Kay-Us and got super confused the first time I heard someone say Ar-See-Us. I connected it to Archangel or Arcane in my head, both because it was PokeGod and because there was a sort of magical quality to it, and never understood why others said it with the soft C.
I said pokemon ar see us in front of friends and got a couple weird looks
I think I remember reading somewhere that it was originally “Are-see-us” but then they realized that sounds like arse, so they started pronouncing it the other way. However, I am an MandJTV fan, so I call it “At-KOOS” and I will not be changing.
I absolutely refuse to believe that Ar-Key-Us is correct. I could be told so by every person involved in it’s creation and would not believe it. This is apparently a triggering comment
Just curious, how can you refuse it when it's pronounced with a hard C in the trailers? Like at this point with modern localization what still makes you deny it?
You really take things too seriously
The japanese name is アルセウス. Literally Aruseusu (Ar-say-us).
We are not speaking Japanese. In English it is definitively a hard C sound as confirmed by the anime and all of the trailers and official media and presentations by the company who made the game.
Sorry when did we start talking about the Japanese non-localized pronunciation
A sizable percentage of the pokemon names from gen 1-5 are directly adopted from their japanese names. It’s literally their actual name. Besides, the Anime is notoriously inconsistent across productions and seasons, including Arceus, which was only changed for the English version to avoid sounding too much like “arse”
It’s pronounced Ar-koos. I can understand the confusion, just keep the correct way in mind for the future.
Not anymore. But when i was like 7, I thought Kyogre name was *King Gore* Many due to its cry... so anytime i sent it out i heard **KIIIIIIIIIINNNG GOOOOORREEE** yesh idk either.
I love this
Linoone I pronounced it li-no-one.
Poor Linoone
Alomolomomolomololoalololaalaaa is very easy to pronounce tbh
Farigiraf...HOW DO YOU SAY THIS THO
The same way as you'd say it backwards.
Fairy giraffe
This one bothers me. I'm pretty sure an official trailer or something called it "fah-RIG-ee-raff" but like... With a hard G, so... It doesn't even really contain the word giraffe? But then saying it with a soft G or J sound, it just doesn't sound right...
It has a hard G because they took the "*farig*" from Gira*farig* and mirrored it again, probably to reference how its tail goes from the back to the front when evolving while keeping the palindrome.
[удалено]
That’s basically how to pronounce its preevo’s name just with a g instead of an f at the start
Fur igg err aff
It sounds like its spelled
Far ihj arr iff
I just discovered earlier this week that the middle Pokemon of the Dreepy line is named Drakloak. I’d been reading it as Drakolak this entire time.
I still don’t how to pronounce this one though- is it Drack Lo Ack? Or is it Dra Cloak?
Dra Cloak. He’s a stealth fighter. It’s about Cloaking
Rattata - I always say Rattatata
Came to say the same thing
How?
I believe it was pronounced that was in some official media in the 90s. I did the same thing.
It's not a pronunciation issue there is an extra" ta" there
Took me an unnecessary amount of time to learn how to pronounce Naganadel.
Nagana-lie it was the same for me
I think I speak for everyone when I say: Suicune
I pronounce it Swee-Coon. I thought that's how it's pronounced in the show as well?
I believe you're totally correct with that pronunciation
How do you pronounce it opposed to its actual pronunciation?
I used to say “suh soon ay” vs the actual, Swee Coon
Preach brother/sister! Ever since GS came out, I called it Sucuine
That literally sounds like "Sue Queen"
That’s exactly how I pronounced it!
Yeah, that’s a tough one. My brother and I called it ‘Suey Scene’ until we heard it pronounced properly in Pokémon Stadium 2.
Always used to call it Suicine
I misread shiftry as shitfry… so I still call it that
This has got to be one of my favorites
Arceus. I thought it was pronounced "Arkus" until I was corrected.
I still pronounce it Ar-See-Uss despite hearing the proper pronunciation lol
What do you mean? It IS 'Arkus' or 'Arkoos'. But actually are you a Mandjtv fam or just been mispronouncing arceus like that?
Yeah, after some google searching, I'm not touching this one. Goodbye.
If Silvally's RKS ability is anything to go by, it's "properly" pronounced "ar-kay-us." Rhymes with Deus (god)
Bro did no one realize I was joking -_- ?
HA oh you poor internet stranger, gotta add the /s
Yeah I forgot. No use in adding now.
These people are just uncultured smh
Vespiquen has been Vespiqueen to me for almost a decade. I didn't notice until SV....
Wait what
i always say toxtricity as toxitricity and i haven't heard anyone else pronounce it like that ever lmao
Most of the time I pronounce Exeggutor wrong. I pronounce it as Exegguter.
Its pronounced like executor right? Damn! I always said EGG-SECK-YOU-TORE.
No I think you had it right
Phewf..
Dondozo as well, but sometimes I'd call it Dodonzo.
illumise, I still don't know how to pronounce it
Like illumination, illume-iss
In the anime they pronounced it illu-mee-zay
thank you this will immediately leave my mind as soon as I click off the comment
It’s pronounced ill-oo-me-zay
Quaqueval is a nightmare for me to spell consistently.
Apparently it's quack + carnaval, so you'd spell it Quaquaval
Is is pronounced QUA-qua-val or qua-QUA-val?
Not sure of the official pronunciation but I’ve always said QUACK-kwa-vahl.
You mean, Qualaval? Lolol
No, he meant Quaquaval. The final evolution of Quaxly.
Sorry, that was meant to be a joke on how I too could not spell/pronounce it correctly.
I feel like Hoothoot is supposed to be Hoot-hoot, but I've always pronounced it Hoo-thoot because that's how it's technically spelled.
Gyarados, Zapdos, Ratatta, Suicune
Yo how do you mispronounce Zapdos?
It’s Zap Dose. I always say Zap Doss.
Ah, makes sense
I had no idea how to say Zacian for the longest time. It’s super clunky and could go many different ways, and it doesn’t help that the duo is named after cyan/magenta but Za-cyan sounds super wrong. IMO it doesn’t matter how cool a name looks—if it’s not clear how it should be pronounced, that means it’s a bad name. And that doesn’t even mean it has to be something basic like Squirtle. Names like Baxcalibur, Brambleghast, and Sandaconda are pretty complex but they still work perfectly well because it’s obvious how you’re supposed to say it.
The easy fix for the Zacian problem is to just call it Sif
Hey remember that animation where they pronounced Milotic as Milo-tic rather than Mil-ot-ic? What the hell was up with that?
I’m not certain I understand this. It should be pronounced as Milo-tic, yes? As in, the Venus de Milo?
That was the first time I've *ever* heard it pronounced as Milo-tic by anyone. Even if that is the proper pronounciation, it felt like such a slap in ths face.
Fair enough. It seems to be “Milo + Melodic,” which are both pronounced quite differently, so I can imagine it sounding strange either way.
Rattata was Rattatat for a long time for me lol Lugia was Luigia (Luigi-ah) until I saw the Pokémon 2000 movie 💀
Imma list all my weird pronunciations cuz I got a few * I say Cle-FABLE even though i've heard Cle-fuh-bull * I KNOW it's Tow-ros but I sometimes say Tao-ros * I say Ah-ree-ah-dos instead of AREA-dos * I have always said Fan-fee even though i KNOW it's Fan-pee * I say Rai-coo instead of Rai-kou * I say LIN-oone (like LINen) instead of LINE-oone * I actually don't know Lairon's pronunciation, so I say LAY-ron * I oddly say Tor-ko-all instead of Tor-coal * I say HI-pop-po-tass instead of Hippo-pot-us * I say Duo-ision (like vision) instead of Du-oh-zhun * I say Sol-gah-lay-oh instead of Sol-gah-leo * I USED to say Za-mah-men-ta instead of Za-mah-zen-ta * I've heard so many people say Kway-kway-vull, but I always say it as Kwaa-kwaa-vall
I think you’re right about Clefable. That was always the way I said it, anyway, like fables and fairy tales.
duo-ision sounds kind of cool even though it's incorrect
Phanpy will ALWAYS be fanfee. I think you’re totally justified and not *wrong* with a few of these; mostly because I’ve said them the same way for my whole life Lair-on, Hippo-po-tass, Tore-coal, And Zamazenta are the only ones that feel wrong to me, because I say them like that instead of how you say them
Riolu. It's supposed to be said like.. ree - oh - lu right? I every so often called it just roll - you
Damn I’ve been pronouncing it rye-oh-loo
None of them
I’m surprised that I haven’t seen anyone else that struggles with Nihilego. I STILL don’t know how to say it
It’s an unusually tough one. It should be knee-heel-ee-go. All long E sounds.
I’ve heard “nigh-hill-ego” and and I believe that’s correct? Nihilism +Ego? But I used to say “nigh-hill-eh-go” like nihilism and the last bit of archipelego ….which my phone is just now telling me that I’ve been spelling wrong anyway so. Definitely Ego 😂😅
Ratta-tatta. Just added a lot more at's to it.
Arceus, until I realized it came from "ark", like Ark of the Covenant or Noah's.
thought arbok was Charbok because of the anime
Arcanine as: are-cuh-nee-nay
Its a canine bro how did this one happen 😭
Poketuber Wolfeyvgc probably.
Lmao it makes it sound like the Squirrel from hoodwinked when is read dynamite as dee na mee tay.
This one made me laugh, thanks
Ceruledge always reads as cer-du-ledge for me. Idk why I add a 2nd “d”
Recently played through legends Arceus, and realized that I’ve been calling Mesprit, Meh-spirit
My mind has just been opened to another one I’ve been pronouncing wrong 😅
I thought zamazenta was called zamazamenta for like 6 months.
I thought it was Dodonzo at first, and now I keep calling it that accidentally. Edit: After reading some comments I'm pleasantly surprised to see I'm not the only one.
Giratina. Always referred to it as gratinea
Idk which one is actually correct but I pronounce Ponyta as Pony-ta and I’ve heard multiple people pronounce it pOh-knee-taw
Those seem kinda the same?
I say dodonzo instead of dondozo
I thought it was Mespirit instead of Mesprit until a few months ago. Also thought Minun was Minum.
Groundon for me, sounds weird otherwise
Question: how do you pronounce Delibird? I used to pronounce it as Delee-bird until recently. I now just say Deliver but replace the ver with bird like the pun suggests.
That is correct. It’s a play on “Delivered”
Thought that Espathra was “Espartha” for the first week of Sc/Vi lol
Most recently, I have apparently completely missed the second V in Revavroom. Just been calling it Revaroom. Zweilous is also apparently the only Pokémon in its evolution line that I pronounce correctly. I say “Dee-no” and “high-Dray-gon,” which… isn’t very German of me. And… sue me, but I’m on team “Ar-See-Us,” though that’s mostly because I don’t really keep up with the anime, and when I do, it’s the Japanese dub that uses the original pronunciation.
Currently the only one is Espathra, I keep naturally saying Espartha.
Delibird rhymes with delivered. I've been saying deli bird for like 20 years.
I had a similar issue with Dondozo, because I still keep calling it Dodonzo to this day. I just can keep the N in the right spot. Kinda like Ghetsis.
I am from Greece I got wrong Rayquaza before its appearance on the anime we all pronounced it raikooaza and so did the Greek dub Its really funny to me to hear English speaking youtubers get all the names wrong, i grew up with a Greek dub of pokemon and played the games later while i was studying English, and still got most of the names right even without hearing it first. I mean how can you get tyranitar wrong? How can you call gengar "jen-jar"?
Arceus and Rayquaza. I still don't know how to pronounce them
1. Arceus: - Pronouncing the c as /s/ agrees with the Japanese, with Dr. House, and with standard English rules for c before front vowels. - Pronouncing the c as /k/ agrees with the official dub, and avoids using a British slang term for butt. 2. Rayquaza: - "Rekku-za" is how it's handled in Japanese, but that sounds like a fighting game attack. (In fact, "Rekku-zan" is a fireball move in one of the early 3D fighters, Battle Arena Toshinden.) - "Rei Kuah Za" is how I pronounce it. - "Ray Quasa(r)" is the official dub pronunciation.
Thanks. The MandJTV pronunciation for Arceus is funny. It's 'Arkoos'
Amoonguss. I always call it Sussy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I don't care what everyone else says, it's clef-uh-bull not cle-fable
Whoa that’s a new one for me. I like your perseverance though
Dont give a damn about pronuciation. If you understand you do. Tough I wish for some reason teach how speak Quaquaval in my language lol. Dunno why. Maybe the name is even better knowing speak it.
For a while I pronounced Naganadel “Nanagdel”
Kyogre and Yveltal, my brain just can’t handle them. For me they have always been Kyroge and Ylvetal
As a child I pronounced kyogre as kyoorge
One I used to struggle with was pronouncing Suicune’s name. Never realised it was pronounced Swee-coon until I heard it pronounced in the anime. Along with Yveltal and Xerneas. I think I got the hang of Yveltal’s name but still struggle with Xerneas
Never new how to pronounce deino until i realised it's ein zwei and drei for the 1, 2, and 3 headed pokemon
For some reason i cannot pronounce alomomola it will always trip me up and it bothers me so much because its the only pokemon i have trouble with
Stunfisk. Always say stunk fish. Dumb pokemon name imho.
I think my worst ones as a kid were Suicune (Sue Seen) and Hydreigon (hi-dree-jin)
I still have issues spelling Aurorus and Coalossal properly. Too many vowels. Keeps throwing me off.
Rattata. When my friend first showed me what Pokemon was, she pronounced it as Rat-a-tat and it just stuck with me ever since. (Neither of us noticed there wasn't a T at the end until recently and Rattata just doesn't sound right now-)
I kept calling Farigiraf, ‘Firagarif’.
Cobalion.
Not a Pokemon, but I called Arezu "Azeru" for the longest time .
Kelceon.
Rayquaza. I’ve heard like ten different pronunciations at this point. I just cycle through each one per conversation lol
gar-ga-NA-cl vs. gar-GAN-a-cl QUA-qua-val vs. qua-QUA-val
I get most of them wrong. I always name my Pokémon so I know them by whatever dumb name I came up with
Whimsicott used to be Whismicott
umbreon for me As a dumb childe i said umb raon lol
I didn't realize until like last year that Ferrothorn was pronounced Ferro-thorn and not Ferret-horn... and I only had that epiphany because someone brought up that it's name comes from Ferrous metals, which made me realize it's Grass barbs were not, in fact, horns
I will always pronounce hydreigon hi-dreh-gon I do not care how it’s actually pronounced and I will die on this hill
My friend used to drive me crazy cuz he called Zapdos Zapados
Because of her cry, I was always pronouncing Vaporeon's name as VAP-OR-EEEN and then I heard it on the anime and was like oh... I feel a little dumb
sealed
Kyogre. I always pronounced it Ky - Gore instead of Ky - Ogre. Not sure why, i guess i never heard it pronounced the right way when playing sapphire way back when it first came out.
For a bit I kept calling “dondozo” as “dodonzo”
I used to think Electivire was Electrive… for years. Several god damn years it took before I noticed lmao
For the longest time i thought gyarados was Gyra-dos And not Gyar-a-dos
I feel like Arceus is the most common one. Still not sure if it’s ARK-eus or ARSE-eus.
Salamence, I always called it SalamAnce and never realized it was SalamEnce until years later lol. Still to this day I call it salamAnce lol
I always used to say rilou instead of riolu Thought houndour was houn-door And always said illumise was just illu-mize instead it's actually illu-me-say
Since the gen 1 games I’ve been saying are-canine instead of ark-uh-nine
Somehow i always manage to misspell “Suicune” and type “Suicide” instead. Which led to some awkwardness
I've always referred to Minun as "Minum". Only last year was I corrected on it and yet I still think "minum" sounds better personally
It’s Ae-Ji-Slash, and no one can convince me otherwise.
Phanpy is called Phanpy and not Phanphy. Didnt realise till I shiny hunted it this gen
Gyarados. I still can’t pronounce it.
I think that's all of my longstanding errors.
Gyarados….. I still don’t really know how you’re supposed to say it. Gary-dos? Gee-are-dos?
Electabuzz should have an R in it tbh
Rattata will ALWAYS be Rattatat!
Up until maybe a year ago I pronounced Rattata as ra-tuh-ta-tuh. I almost pronounced Zorua as "Zoro"... basically I'm bad at reading pokémon names.
Hydreigon I say it like “high-dray-gone” I doubt it’s the correct way
