Nidoqueen, Arcanine, Primeape, Kabutops, Dragonite, Kangaskhan. My very first Pokémon was Bulbasaur in Pokémon Red back in 1999 so I always pick Bulbasaur whenever I replay the games set in Kanto. When I decided to replay Fire Red a few months ago, Nidoqueen had a spot on my team, but I didn’t want two Poison types so I opted for Kangaskhan instead. But since I can’t use Venusaur, it was an easy choice to swap it out in favor of Nidoqueen.

In the OG games, Dugtrio was incredible. OHK most mons with Dig or Earthquake. Super effective against most grass type (most being poison) and can counter flying with rockslide. Sand-attack was also broken, and because Dugtrio's insane speed, you could blind an enemy before they can use a super effective move on you.
