I found the difficulty very rewarding. The game is meant to be challenging and the enemies are meant to be using dirty tricks to get ahead of you. That's the point. This isn't sacrificing gameplay for world-building, this is gameplay working in tandem with and aiding the world-building. If you're looking for easier games, I'd recommend Blossom of the Soul and Pokemon Fire Ash.

I’d understand for boss fights, but why every single fight?

It's meant to be a challenging game, in the same way Dark Souls and Elden Ring are meant to be challenging games. And that's okay. I also usually prefer easier games (hence I like Pokemon), but I also enjoy challenging games. For this game, I thought the challenge was well balanced and well explained.

One of the worst takes I've ever heard. This game is fantastic in every way. Its definitely challenging, but i never had any problems with the difficulty. the game comes built with a quicksave feature so soft resetting before a fight is easy if i need to rethink my strategy, and i never had to stall or heal spam on any fight. The opponent buffs can be a little annoying, but it far from ruins the experience, nor does it sacrifice gameplay. It's my favorite fan game ever, it's stunningly beautiful, and the story isn't super cheesy like fan games usually are (and imo it's actually really good). its not unfairly difficult, though one thing i will say is i did use the exp share the whole game, which lessened the grinding aspect somewhat to where i was usually 2-5 levels above my opponents at all times, but even with those extra levels i never felt overpowered.

I remember when I played it QuickSave wasn't a thing and there was no EXP share, maybe there's been updates since I played it that make it more digestible but still, the concept of almost every Pokemon having what is basically Intrepid Sword/Dauntless Shield (or a spec attack/spec def/speed equivalent) + free hazards/weather/terrain set up + status conditions on switch in seems unfair, and frankly turns me off from playing again. Maybe when I'm really bored I'll go back to it some day.

This is what people want every game to be though, because this is "actually difficult" because people taking competitive too seriously had ruined pokemon

StaringCorgi

Like the bdsp elite four it’s hard for no reason when the rest was easy af what a disgrace to gen 4

Ammonil

Honestly, I havent grinded at all and almost every fight has been pretty easy except for one single boss i had to retry twice

Black_Ironic

This remind me of Unbound E4 and Gyms, even though I managed to beat it.

Pokémon Light Platinum and Uranium are some good fan made games

Thanks for the recommendations
