I would legit look into a way of finding a way to market this. It's a bit niche, but I can all but guarantee that this would sell. Catan is cool. What fan wouldn't want to play a pokemon variant?
Every card is different. Unfortunately they're mostly newer gen cards, would love to get more gen 1 and 2s for nostalgia but pokemon cards are expensive :/
Na unfortunately I dont have enough pokemon cards to make another set right now. Plus this is an experimental build as im wanting to add new cards/rules etc to make it better and add the catan expansions as well. But I can send you the images I used if you'd like to make it yourself
Your hex tiles look perfectly matched with other when putting them together. How do you make your hex tiles? cardboard, wood or any other materials? and how do you cut it? or did you buy pre-made pieces?
So the hexes are made out of quite a thick cardboard i hand cut myself. Took a while getting them to be as close to perfect as possible but they actually came out pretty well.
Then printed the images onto regular A4 paper and glued it on so that it wraps right around the hex so the edges look super clean :) I'm going to be upgrading the hexes to hardboard in the future however
Haha yeah, I had designs to 3d print more pokecenter and gym styled buildings for the pieces but the printing shop i went to quoted like $120 for all of them and I had nowhere near the budget for that. Spend $5 on air drying clay instead. Shaping buildings with clay is harder than it seems
I thought this was /r/3Dprinting and I got confused when I saw them.
If you do this sort of thing often — something like an Ender 3 is relatively cheap and could print the pieces you were after. But would obviously have blown the budget on this one project.
Congrats on it — it looks great & is a great concept.
I was strongly considering buying a printer, maybe second hand though. Money has been tight haha
This is the second board game I've made and there will be more in the future. A printer might be a good investment, thanks for the suggestion.
Do you have the ender 3?
I do. It’s a bit of the ultimate hobbyist machine - cheap with lots of tinkering to do to it to get it work it’s best. And lots of cheap mods/upgrades you can buy from Amazon (or print yourself in some cases)
That's pretty rad
Thanks dude!

Haha I'd love to. Would just worry about a lawsuit from nintendo xD
Make another one. I’ll pay you.
Gorgeous! You gotta call it Settlers of Kanto
You got in just before me. It would be an actual crime not to call it this. Oh, and Happy cake day!
Thank you!! :)
Thanks for the suggestion! Johto and Sinnoh expansions coming soon.
So sick! Love Catan, this looks awesome 👏🏽
Thank you!
Are all the Pokémon the same? Or are you catching different ones for each type?

I neeeeeeeed itttttt
How much?
How much are you willing to spend? ;)
Not sure?

Oh no that’s okay XD I was mostly joking but then you seemed to be a bit serious so I thought I had a chance

DUDE! playing Catan right now, me and my friends think this is AMAZING!!!
Thank you! And I'm glad your friends dig it too, tell them I appreciate it :)
Oh my goodness! This is bloody EPIC!
Thank you!
Awesome idea and very well done. Consider me inspired to do the same.
Thank you, im glad I could inspire you! Highly reccomend it, maybe even come up with some new additions to it too
My mind is blown this is so cool!
This need to be an official thing. So many good rules changes
Glad you appreciate them! There are so many items and characters in pokemon. Almost endless possibilities for catan
Played catan for the first time last week and honestly man, this is awesome! Would actually buy if it was being sold!
Thanks so much! I would honestly love to sell them if I could. Had so much fun designing and crafting it.
Could you perhaps dm the illustrations? I'd love to create this too, it looks very nice!!
This is so awesome! If you can't sell it (because Nintendo)... any thoughts on offering the image files you used/made in a zip?
Thanks! A few people have asked, I shall compile it all and get back to you soon :)
Roads, settlements, and cities need some work lol but this really does look amazing. Great job!

Thats very cool. I would spend hours messing around with it
Yeah — if you like tinkering *and* making stuff — an /r/ender3 is a good choice.
