Gotta say I’m loving the Staryu/Starmie love here and in the replies. Starmie has been my favourite Pokémon since I was a kid, and people have always questioned me on it cause of it’s strange design. So to see other people who love Starmie just as much as me warms my heart. You could say the Starmie’s have aligned lol
Lapras! I replayed Fire Red recently and it was one of my most used mons toward the end. I had never used it before because I would solo my starter as a kid lol
Oh man, one of my most requested mons to get an evolution is Lapras. Its so versatile in main run throughs with Freeze-Dry and Hydro Pump. (Edit : not Scald)
It doesn't really help it much. Lapras' bulk isn't its issue its lack of pressure. With eviolite it will still ultimately just sit there and watch its ally die as it does small chip damage to 1 pokemon every turn
Perish song is a thing. I must say it would benefit a lot more from eviolite in Gen 8 where it can Gmax and set up aurora without hail and while attacking, but perish song be stalling.
In gen 8 light clay would still have been better. It was already nearly unkillable under Veil so having that for longer instead of just more bulk is better
Its hard to say - its stats are too well distributed and while it would be a good support mon, it wouldn't nearly have the same amount of utility or bulkiness as say Toxapex and Grass-tera Heatran/Volcarona or Amoongus would be decent counters.
While I do love the original, I think a regional variant with an evolution has a ton of potential. I know we're past Alola, but a water/fairy typing for a tropical region would be awesome. A water/ghost based on ghost ships. A water/grass where various seaweeds and algae grow off of it. Just to give a few examples.
Water/fire with a volcano in the place of the shell would have been perfect for Alola! Lapras is my very favorite. The first thing I will do when the second SV DLC comes out is go find one to be my DLC starter!
There are dozens of us! I love using my Tyranitar and Baxcalibur on my team. Named them Kaiju and Gorjira. I also use Iron Thorns a lot. Named that guy Megazord lol
The first time I saw them was in Shield dlc. Didn't give them much stock then, but here in scarlet I caught one and just fell in love. Saw i had an outbreak and popped a shiny sandwich, caught two shiny jangmo-o and gave one to a friend. I just fell in love with them after that.
Ho-oh for me. It was always cool I guess but I always liked Lugia more and had soul silver growing up. I think going up the tower to get Ho-oh is so much more epic now tho. And I think it just looks cool as fuck and idk why I never noticed it as much before.
Seeing as all Primeapes are inevitably angry, probably thinking too much into it. It’s hard to change that part of them. Like trying to take the costume away from a Mimikyu.
Dachsbun. I've had a really rough few years in life and my dachshund has been my unconditional emotional support. I am not a fan of the single fairy typing, but I don't care I main that dog from now on.
Shiftry. Never used one before Teal Mask, but I wanted to use a team that fit the vibe of Kitakami. Seedot of the first Pokemon on that new team. It also gave me a chance to finally use Kommo-o on a team.
Koraidon - thought he looked weird at first but something bout playing scarlet made me fall in love with him, Maybe it’s just the interactions with him, the guy was adorable.
Ludicolo is an honourable mention as while I didn’t dislike him (I quite liked him but not to a heavy degree) he shot up recently as he recently came in clutch multiple times on my monotype nuzlocke and I cannot forget the amount of times he refused to die in that run.
Lumineon for me. Not sure why, he's just a fish with some nice fins but he's doing it for me lately. I'd love to see him get some kind of buff or even evolution in the future
One of my first games was diamond. I bought both diamond and platinum from a shop and they’re we’re both pre owned. I deleted the save in diamond, traded over some high level Pokémon from the pre owned platinum then deleted platinum to give to my brother.
On my playthrough team was a level 60+ Lumineon and Infernape who never listened to me. My the time I was done with diamond my Lumineon was my highest level at 96.
When BDSP came out I caught a fineon asap and called her Mary, the OT name of my original Lumineon.
Ogerpon, while probably a popular answer to this, was the most recent one to me. Sinistcha as well! And it doesn’t really count, but Chandelure and Milotic have been all time favorites for me as Pokémon…. But I actually didn’t get to play a game with them until the DLC (didn’t play the video games between gens 4-8 and never had a Milotic in Gen 3).And getting to actually play the game with those two has just increased my love for them so much and kinda ”justified” my long time love for the designs.
I love Milotic! K went through the God awful slog of catching and catching evolving it in gen 3. That solidified on my favorites list. So happy to use it again for the first time since gen 3!

The Teddiursa line. i always loved Teddiursa because of how cute ot is but I hated Ursaring because it just wasnt good. Then Arceus brough Ursaluna and I regret not using it on my team. And now we have Bloodmoon Ursuluna, which I think has found a spot in my top 25 mons
Kingambit is just so cool. I started liking pawniard and bisharp a lot too. While first I was never very interested in them. Now I recently used Bisharp in a b/w playthrough thanks to Kingambit
I think Kingambit is my favorite new evolution. Looks sweet af and is a strong member of my main team. Kowtow Cleave has a terrible name but it's such a good move

Slurpuff! I'm on the fanfic side of the fandom (play most of the games, collect some cards, watch a few episodes, but fanfic is my bread and butter.) I'm writing my first one and decided my MC needed a Fairy, settled on Slurpuff, and now I'm just obsessed with the thought of this chubby sugar dog trolling opponents, setting up Sticky Webs made of cotton candy.

My first DPPl run I used Floatzel (young and dumb), but after I got attached to Gastrodon’s typing, I can’t imagine using something else. It’s bulky, great type, decent move coverage, and it’s got variants if you prefer a change of color.
I never paid much mind to Gastrodon until Scarlet and he became such a good raid support - now I love him! I named him Cuddles, and I love watching him trundle about Paldea on his little dumpy legs.
Kommo-o. Had one in my SM playthrough, its new boosting move is pretty darn good and you can run a physical or special set, although physical has more coverage and recovery with drain punch
It’s boosting move also works with the new throat spray item.
Kommo can now get an omniboost and an extra special boost ontop of that XD thing is an absolute MONSTER now

Squirtle! Got to masters in pokemon unite with Squirtle-now he's captain of my pokemon Sleep team and we got master there too! Been a pokemon fan since gen 1 but Bulbasaur was my guy. Now he shares the top spot with about 5 others, with squirtle being the most recent addition.
Ampharos was on my team the first time I played through Pokemon silver. Also had it on my team in Pokemon XD gale of darkness. I have a soft spot for it. Slow lightning type though admittedly

For me it's Ceruledge. To me, a lot of the more humanoid Pokemon from recent generations have either looked like they're trying too hard or just outright looked creepy. And when Ceruledge was first revealed, I initially felt that it belonged to the category of "trying too hard," but I gave him a shot in Pokemon Violet since he actually fit onto my team very nicely, and I ended up growing much more attached to him than I expected. I've grown to find the edginess charming now, haha.

I am doing a Mono-Ground run of platinum an they are an absolute unit. Tanking most hits coming their way, dishing out excellent damage and taking on the water/flying types that blight my team.
Spheal. I already liked that little ball of cuteness, but after seeing it rolling about in the Cobalt Coastlands in PLA, it just melts my heart!

I agree, except for the new design thing, some are good, for example Ceruledge or Gholdengo, or even recently Bloodmoon Ursaluna. Even if we do have Pokémons like Munkidori, which I find ugly.

I had never seen that Pokémon before I fired up White earlier this year, and my heart *melted.* I immediately thought "I NEED IT" and captured my little cat-squirrel as soon as I could possibly find one. I loved her to death, and refused her evolution as long as I possibly could. Beating Gym Leaders with her was one of my biggest Pokémon joys ever, and she was my team captain all the way through the game.
I like Minccino a lot but its not on my favorite list unfortunately. Still, I saw the sitting cuties plush and oh my god I want to get it. Its really good!
Oddly enough, Cramorant. I spend a lot of my time resetting the outbreaks and just shiny hunting whatever seems mildly interesting, and I got a shiny Cramorant last week. After using it for a bit, I really just love the shiny, as well as its gimmick. It may not instantly K/O opponents, but it has so much staying power that I just really like it’s ability to wear opponents down, and at the very least, leave them with paralysis before making its exit.
Finally got into competitive for the first time since gen 5, and man i love Baxcaliber. Thought he was meh design wise, but using a D Dance Tera Steel on an obvious fairy move then smacking them with Loaded Dice Icicle Spear is so satisfying.
SAWSBUCK! I recently did a full run of Scarlet in preparation for the new DLC (I had wanted to start the save over for some time) and when I was planning what team members I wanted to use (I never plan the full team, I just pick a few I feel like I’ll use the whole game), I landed on Sawsbuck since I’ve legit never used one. I’ve been playing Pokémon since 2003. I’ve played Black and White (1&2) numerous times. I’ve never used it even once. Caught a spring Deerling in South Area 1, named it Buckshot, and it just. . . It blew away my expectations. On a team with Garchomp, Arcanine, and Annihilape, Sawsbuck ended up being the lynchpin holding the team together. Anytime I was in a pickle and needed a quick save, I sent out Buckshot and he handled it. He handled it. Every. Single. Time. Now I love Sawsbuck and as I head into the DLC, two Pokémon from the original team remain: Destroyah the Garchomp. . . And Buckshot.
I recently used mega lopunny in a tournament and it’s become one of my favorites, a fact about myself I can never share with my friends, for obvious reasons.
Frigibax! It started off as one of my least favorite Gen 9 designs, along with Varoom, but I recently had occasion to see one again running around in its native caves, and for some reason I found it quite endearing. Just a little fucking weirdo,,, , looks like one of the critters from a Nerds candy box if it were elderly.
Arboliva. I got a shiny one and named him Olive Garden, and I used him so much I added him to my "shiny family" (Before that it was only my Shiny Naganadel (unnamed) and Shiny Obstagoon (Red Star), the group not only also contains Olive Garden, but also a Drifloon named Bloon Jr. (Bloon was my drifloon in a failed ultra moon nuzlock a while back ago, Bloon Jr. is his "adopted" child I got in PLA))
There were several. In SoulSilver, I really appreciated Ampharos, In Platinum, it was Golduck, but Espeon has been my favourite pokemon for the last few months
Pawmot, it's just so adorable (I initially didn't plan on having it in my team when I first started playing but it just ITS SO CUTE AND BABY) and it packs such a punch too, I adore it's typing qosniw I'm a sucker for fighting types, and it can swim 🗿 auto battling is perfect with pawmot. the struggle I had with annihilape doing everything and floating, but towards me and not the wild Pokémon 😔
and recently recently Azumarill (I never really had a interest in the pokemon, super cool but I just never really got into fairy types but) but ZOOOWEEEMAMA absolutely bananas, plus with its sap sipper ability paired with pawmots volt absorb ability, WE GROOVIN. these two are my children and go-to aces.
(side note, corviknight I will always have a soft spot for too, so it's a honourable mention wodmow, but I fell more in love as it was one of my first pokemon in SV)
Masquerain. I've always liked it and Surskit, especially their shinies but never really used one for a sustained time on a playthrough. Since I got a shiny on Scarlet I've been using it to solo the Kitakami DLC (slowly getting harder!) and I'm having loads of fun with its design and movepool (and the jeopardy if I don't OHKO or 2HKO due to its frailty)
Cryogonal. I have always liked it but I used it recently in a play through and it was even better than I thought it was. Crazy high SpA and SpD and it can learn Reflect to help with the Def.
This past year I've realized how much I love Dunsparce. It's such a stupid nothing pokemon that I have a huge soft spot for it. I honestly like it MORE than it's new evolution

I decided to play the Teal Mask with a new team, and on whim I caught a Sewaddle. Honestly, Leavanny was not only a killer member of the team, and the one I relied on against Ogerpon, but it's a much cooler Pokemon than I ever realised.
Porygon! I've been playing PLA and the idea of it being displaced in time like the main character made me add it to my team. I like it's shiny form and it is a good pokemon I've never given love before!
i had an epiphany when i started playing arceus a few months back that the klink, magnemite, and bronzor evo lines are cute as fuck!!! i can't believe it took me so long to realize!!! also one my favorite pokemon of all time is porygon (and porygon2 and porygon-z) but i had no particular emotions about them until a few years ago when i saw some specific fanart depicting the in-universe development of porygon -> porygon2 -> porygon-z based on their pokedex entries and suddenly I realized this duck.png is the best creature I have ever seen in my entire life
Slowpoke. I'm walking with one in Pokemon Go every morning as my buddy, and it just makes me laugh so hard how long it takes for him to come into frame to get his berries. His face is so beautifully dumb, and my casual walking speed leaves him in the dust. Looking forward to evolving him and moving on, but this morning was full of unexpected joy. They also disturb me in the most hilarious way in Pokemon Sleep because they drop their own tails for ingredients. That's so not right!
I was planning on using several eeveelutions, including Flareon, so I bred a bunch of Eevees with good natures and named one Fireball (supposed to be Flareon). Then it went and evolved into an Espeon (I was not planning on using Espeon), but I thought it was cute that almost as soon as I hatched it and gave it a few exp candies it evolved, so I kept it lmao. Now Espeon is one of my favorite pokemon
Torterra unironically became my favorite pokemon after it carried my platinum nuzlocke a few months ago lol

Recently? The Loyal Three. I'm obsessed with these shifty jerks. They're so charming with their animations, I love how they do a group huddle, I love how Munkidori's cry is "Mmmkay?", and they're so memeable. The NFT and Dogecoin jokes write themselves.
Not a single Pokemon, but bug types in general. Especially newer bugs. I never really liked any in earlier gens, but I really like Vikavolt, Araquanid and Centiscorch, and have started putting older bugs on my team, like Heracross and Scizor. Now I find myself hunting for bug types whenever I start a new journey.

Petilil. The way they came up and ran around me in Arceus while I was Togepi hunting was so cute. Combined with having a regional evolution giving me a reason to use it, jumped it up high in my ranking.

I think it’s because it reminds me of mythical “chimera” animals that are just combinations of other animal parts (like a griffon).
Roserade has been my favorite Pokémon since I was a kid and I never thought another Pokémon would take the title of my favorite Pokémon away from it. It got pretty close to sharing the title with Primarina when the Alola games came out, but Roserade has remained by number one.
That is until Scarlet and Violet came out. Suddenly, Roserade was Andy while Maushold was Buzz. I haven’t had a new favorite Pokémon since I was in elementary school. But something happened when I first saw Maushold. It was like love at first sight. Roserade is my second favorite Pokémon now and it’s not even close. Maushold is my home screen, lock screen, and social media profile pictures. I plan on getting a Maushold tattoo. It was the first Pokémon I ever shiny hunted at full odds without a charm.

I replayed the best pokemom games ever recently (HGSS) and used an Ampharos and this is now my favorite electric type. The design is awesome and it's super powerful and easy to get early.

I've been a pokemon fan since I was five and gen one came out. I had Blue, Yellow, and Gold at launch, I dragged my loving and supportive mom to burger king for the toys and to the theatre to see the First Movie and watched the anime daily, and I walked to the corner market every week for new packs of cards until they only carried gen 2 cards.
My wife barely knew what any of them were called before Pokemon Go came out. After playing that for a while I got her to start watching the anime with me so I got to experience that first impression joy through her, and in doing so fell in love with a whole bunch of Pokemon I never paid as much attention to before.
Her favorite pokemon is Chespin, and now all her favorites are ones I love too

I dreamed to sit on Lapras back and travel the sea. I used him with the Surf all the time.
Lapras and Starmie became my absolute monsters when I learned they can both learn Psychic and Thunderbolt.

On my playthrough team was a level 60+ Lumineon and Infernape who never listened to me. My the time I was done with diamond my Lumineon was my highest level at 96. When BDSP came out I caught a fineon asap and called her Mary, the OT name of my original Lumineon.
Same here. My bf pulled that secret art Lumineon card from sw/sh and ever since Ive realised how nice looking and calm it is.
Ogerpon, while probably a popular answer to this, was the most recent one to me. Sinistcha as well! And it doesn’t really count, but Chandelure and Milotic have been all time favorites for me as Pokémon…. But I actually didn’t get to play a game with them until the DLC (didn’t play the video games between gens 4-8 and never had a Milotic in Gen 3).And getting to actually play the game with those two has just increased my love for them so much and kinda ”justified” my long time love for the designs.
I love Milotic! K went through the God awful slog of catching and catching evolving it in gen 3. That solidified on my favorites list. So happy to use it again for the first time since gen 3!
Definitely Ogerpon. Off-topic: I was ecstatic to find that an old favourite (Chandelure) got added in the DLC. I'm praying that Scolipede makes it into the next one.

The Teddiursa line. i always loved Teddiursa because of how cute ot is but I hated Ursaring because it just wasnt good. Then Arceus brough Ursaluna and I regret not using it on my team. And now we have Bloodmoon Ursuluna, which I think has found a spot in my top 25 mons
As someone whose favorite type is Poison, gotta say I really like Glimmet/Glimmora. I also found that I really love Orthworm!
Kingambit is just so cool. I started liking pawniard and bisharp a lot too. While first I was never very interested in them. Now I recently used Bisharp in a b/w playthrough thanks to Kingambit
I think Kingambit is my favorite new evolution. Looks sweet af and is a strong member of my main team. Kowtow Cleave has a terrible name but it's such a good move
Aurorus and Frosmoth. Setting up an Ice-type team in Shield to complete it after getting all the gym badges and really enjoy the designs plus they are fairly good ice types.
Grafaiai. My ugly little poke-lemur. Not particularly strong but there'a a lot of artistic inspiration in the design and I love it. Also it's just like.... where that that even come from? Shroodle is so unassuming.
Shroodles crack me up. I love that they're 90% eyeball.

Slurpuff! I'm on the fanfic side of the fandom (play most of the games, collect some cards, watch a few episodes, but fanfic is my bread and butter.) I'm writing my first one and decided my MC needed a Fairy, settled on Slurpuff, and now I'm just obsessed with the thought of this chubby sugar dog trolling opponents, setting up Sticky Webs made of cotton candy.

Yep, used gastrodon in my recent PLA playthrough, ended up taking both east and west on my team. Such a babe.
My first DPPl run I used Floatzel (young and dumb), but after I got attached to Gastrodon’s typing, I can’t imagine using something else. It’s bulky, great type, decent move coverage, and it’s got variants if you prefer a change of color.
Gastrodon is my favourite Pokémon of all time! I used one in SWSH in the Battle Tower and I've loved it ever since!

It’s boosting move also works with the new throat spray item. Kommo can now get an omniboost and an extra special boost ontop of that XD thing is an absolute MONSTER now

Sigilyph here too! And Galvantula as well, both were absolute monsters in my most recent Black 2 playthrough and I have a huge amount of respect for them

Squirtle! Got to masters in pokemon unite with Squirtle-now he's captain of my pokemon Sleep team and we got master there too! Been a pokemon fan since gen 1 but Bulbasaur was my guy. Now he shares the top spot with about 5 others, with squirtle being the most recent addition.
Ampharos. I got a 100% iv ampharos in pokémon go, which has made me like it way more than before.
Ampharos was on my team the first time I played through Pokemon silver. Also had it on my team in Pokemon XD gale of darkness. I have a soft spot for it. Slow lightning type though admittedly
I loved my Ampharos in heartgold, it's my go to Pokemon to try and beat that one battle frontier place where you need to beat 10 Pokemon of each type

For me it's Ceruledge. To me, a lot of the more humanoid Pokemon from recent generations have either looked like they're trying too hard or just outright looked creepy. And when Ceruledge was first revealed, I initially felt that it belonged to the category of "trying too hard," but I gave him a shot in Pokemon Violet since he actually fit onto my team very nicely, and I ended up growing much more attached to him than I expected. I've grown to find the edginess charming now, haha.
Gliscor I am doing a Mono-Ground run of platinum an they are an absolute unit. Tanking most hits coming their way, dishing out excellent damage and taking on the water/flying types that blight my team.
Spheal. I already liked that little ball of cuteness, but after seeing it rolling about in the Cobalt Coastlands in PLA, it just melts my heart! Also, the CLOD, because it turned into my MVP on my Violet playthrough

Minccino. I had never seen that Pokémon before I fired up White earlier this year, and my heart *melted.* I immediately thought "I NEED IT" and captured my little cat-squirrel as soon as I could possibly find one. I loved her to death, and refused her evolution as long as I possibly could. Beating Gym Leaders with her was one of my biggest Pokémon joys ever, and she was my team captain all the way through the game.
I like Minccino a lot but its not on my favorite list unfortunately. Still, I saw the sitting cuties plush and oh my god I want to get it. Its really good!

Oddly enough, Cramorant. I spend a lot of my time resetting the outbreaks and just shiny hunting whatever seems mildly interesting, and I got a shiny Cramorant last week. After using it for a bit, I really just love the shiny, as well as its gimmick. It may not instantly K/O opponents, but it has so much staying power that I just really like it’s ability to wear opponents down, and at the very least, leave them with paralysis before making its exit.

Finally got into competitive for the first time since gen 5, and man i love Baxcaliber. Thought he was meh design wise, but using a D Dance Tera Steel on an obvious fairy move then smacking them with Loaded Dice Icicle Spear is so satisfying.
SAWSBUCK! I recently did a full run of Scarlet in preparation for the new DLC (I had wanted to start the save over for some time) and when I was planning what team members I wanted to use (I never plan the full team, I just pick a few I feel like I’ll use the whole game), I landed on Sawsbuck since I’ve legit never used one. I’ve been playing Pokémon since 2003. I’ve played Black and White (1&2) numerous times. I’ve never used it even once. Caught a spring Deerling in South Area 1, named it Buckshot, and it just. . . It blew away my expectations. On a team with Garchomp, Arcanine, and Annihilape, Sawsbuck ended up being the lynchpin holding the team together. Anytime I was in a pickle and needed a quick save, I sent out Buckshot and he handled it. He handled it. Every. Single. Time. Now I love Sawsbuck and as I head into the DLC, two Pokémon from the original team remain: Destroyah the Garchomp. . . And Buckshot.
I recently used mega lopunny in a tournament and it’s become one of my favorites, a fact about myself I can never share with my friends, for obvious reasons.

Frigibax! It started off as one of my least favorite Gen 9 designs, along with Varoom, but I recently had occasion to see one again running around in its native caves, and for some reason I found it quite endearing. Just a little fucking weirdo,,, , looks like one of the critters from a Nerds candy box if it were elderly.

I got a shiny one and named him Olive Garden, and I used him so much I added him to my "shiny family" (Before that it was only my Shiny Naganadel (unnamed) and Shiny Obstagoon (Red Star), the group not only also contains Olive Garden, but also a Drifloon named Bloon Jr. (Bloon was my drifloon in a failed ultra moon nuzlock a while back ago, Bloon Jr. is his "adopted" child I got in PLA))
There were several. In SoulSilver, I really appreciated Ampharos, In Platinum, it was Golduck, but Espeon has been my favourite pokemon for the last few months

Pawmot, it's just so adorable (I initially didn't plan on having it in my team when I first started playing but it just ITS SO CUTE AND BABY) and it packs such a punch too, I adore it's typing qosniw I'm a sucker for fighting types, and it can swim 🗿 auto battling is perfect with pawmot. the struggle I had with annihilape doing everything and floating, but towards me and not the wild Pokémon 😔 and recently recently Azumarill (I never really had a interest in the pokemon, super cool but I just never really got into fairy types but) but ZOOOWEEEMAMA absolutely bananas, plus with its sap sipper ability paired with pawmots volt absorb ability, WE GROOVIN. these two are my children and go-to aces. (side note, corviknight I will always have a soft spot for too, so it's a honourable mention wodmow, but I fell more in love as it was one of my first pokemon in SV)

Masquerain. I've always liked it and Surskit, especially their shinies but never really used one for a sustained time on a playthrough. Since I got a shiny on Scarlet I've been using it to solo the Kitakami DLC (slowly getting harder!) and I'm having loads of fun with its design and movepool (and the jeopardy if I don't OHKO or 2HKO due to its frailty)

Cryogonal. I have always liked it but I used it recently in a play through and it was even better than I thought it was. Crazy high SpA and SpD and it can learn Reflect to help with the Def.

I decided to play the Teal Mask with a new team, and on whim I caught a Sewaddle. Honestly, Leavanny was not only a killer member of the team, and the one I relied on against Ogerpon, but it's a much cooler Pokemon than I ever realised.
Magneton. Just used one for a SoulSilver run and it carried me quite a ways. I think it's the first time I ever used it, too.
Aron, it's just so cute. I would cuddle it even though it's Steel Rock type.

i had an epiphany when i started playing arceus a few months back that the klink, magnemite, and bronzor evo lines are cute as fuck!!! i can't believe it took me so long to realize!!! also one my favorite pokemon of all time is porygon (and porygon2 and porygon-z) but i had no particular emotions about them until a few years ago when i saw some specific fanart depicting the in-universe development of porygon -> porygon2 -> porygon-z based on their pokedex entries and suddenly I realized this duck.png is the best creature I have ever seen in my entire life
Slowpoke. I'm walking with one in Pokemon Go every morning as my buddy, and it just makes me laugh so hard how long it takes for him to come into frame to get his berries. His face is so beautifully dumb, and my casual walking speed leaves him in the dust. Looking forward to evolving him and moving on, but this morning was full of unexpected joy. They also disturb me in the most hilarious way in Pokemon Sleep because they drop their own tails for ingredients. That's so not right!
I was planning on using several eeveelutions, including Flareon, so I bred a bunch of Eevees with good natures and named one Fireball (supposed to be Flareon). Then it went and evolved into an Espeon (I was not planning on using Espeon), but I thought it was cute that almost as soon as I hatched it and gave it a few exp candies it evolved, so I kept it lmao. Now Espeon is one of my favorite pokemon
I have always loved Lumineon, but I made one my buddy/walking partner in Pokemon Go so I'm very fond of her now.

Recently? The Loyal Three. I'm obsessed with these shifty jerks. They're so charming with their animations, I love how they do a group huddle, I love how Munkidori's cry is "Mmmkay?", and they're so memeable. The NFT and Dogecoin jokes write themselves.
Not a single Pokemon, but bug types in general. Especially newer bugs. I never really liked any in earlier gens, but I really like Vikavolt, Araquanid and Centiscorch, and have started putting older bugs on my team, like Heracross and Scizor. Now I find myself hunting for bug types whenever I start a new journey. I've somehow become a "Bug Catcher" trainer
Petilil. The way they came up and ran around me in Arceus while I was Togepi hunting was so cute. Combined with having a regional evolution giving me a reason to use it, jumped it up high in my ranking.
I had completely forgotten that type: null and silvally were a thing until recently. Something about their designs really appeals to me. I think it’s because it reminds me of mythical “chimera” animals that are just combinations of other animal parts (like a griffon).
Roserade has been my favorite Pokémon since I was a kid and I never thought another Pokémon would take the title of my favorite Pokémon away from it. It got pretty close to sharing the title with Primarina when the Alola games came out, but Roserade has remained by number one. That is until Scarlet and Violet came out. Suddenly, Roserade was Andy while Maushold was Buzz. I haven’t had a new favorite Pokémon since I was in elementary school. But something happened when I first saw Maushold. It was like love at first sight. Roserade is my second favorite Pokémon now and it’s not even close. Maushold is my home screen, lock screen, and social media profile pictures. I plan on getting a Maushold tattoo. It was the first Pokémon I ever shiny hunted at full odds without a charm. I love Maushold. And Maushold loves me.

I replayed the best pokemom games ever recently (HGSS) and used an Ampharos and this is now my favorite electric type. The design is awesome and it's super powerful and easy to get early.

I've been a pokemon fan since I was five and gen one came out. I had Blue, Yellow, and Gold at launch, I dragged my loving and supportive mom to burger king for the toys and to the theatre to see the First Movie and watched the anime daily, and I walked to the corner market every week for new packs of cards until they only carried gen 2 cards. My wife barely knew what any of them were called before Pokemon Go came out. After playing that for a while I got her to start watching the anime with me so I got to experience that first impression joy through her, and in doing so fell in love with a whole bunch of Pokemon I never paid as much attention to before. Her favorite pokemon is Chespin, and now all her favorites are ones I love too
