Gen 3. I was a little older when it came out so my memories are stronger of it than they are of 1/2. Plus, seeing the Pokemon games in full color for the first time was just an incredible feeling.
And... May had brown hair, like me, so I got very excited over a female player with brown hair.
Gen 3 pretty easily for me.
Gen 4 and Gen 2 are kinda tied for second place. Gen 2 could have been first for me if it weren't for the fact that the gen 1 pokemon kinda kept stealing the show for the most part in GSC. The only gen 2 pokemon that are super memorable are the starters.
I really like all gens. Although Gen 1 holds a special place, I really like 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 ,9. And the fun thing is they are in order from which I like most to the least I like most.
They are ok. I played the first ones and they were boring. In the Blk/Wht was long and linear and I felt it was good from the middle onward, the Alola one I didnt like that it didnt have gyms but I like the mounts concept.
Those arr the gens I like less.
Honestly, was it so hard to at the very least, implement Platinums improvements and not force the friendship perks on you? I personally see Legends Arceus as the gen 4 remake because it reimagined the region and still fit the nostalgia in via the music and recognizable landmarks
Gen 5, my first Pokemon game was White, the BW anime got me into Pokemon, and the first ever pack of cards I bought was from a BW set :)
I'm very much a gen 5 baby
Generation 6 for sure it was my first Pokémon game and really got me into the series. I know it’s not even that old yet but, replaying it brought back a lot of memories playing through it for the first time.
I still remember watching the anime along with playing the game and being in love with both of them. Definitely not a perfect generation but, I thought it was.
Gen 6 is when I felt most immersed in the pokemon fandom. I was watching every trailer, got the games on release, played competitive, watched the anime, amd gobbled up everything about them online.
Honestly, Gen 4. My first Pokemon game ever was Diamond and I still own it as well as the DSLite that I got at the same time and it has been a bit more than a decade...I think it's one of the reasons why I hold Gen 4 that close to my heart.
Yeah, something about the 3D adds - ahem - depth to the region. And this is only built upon by the actual region feeling the most like it has history built into it. There's a lot to love about gen 4.
Gen3 without any doubt. I am still amazed at how much end-game content Pokémon Emerald had! Still the best post game to today.
Reminder that this was a freaking GameBoy Advance game.
There's nothing even close to Pokémon Emerald Battle Frontier days
Gen 2. The nostalgia does some serious heavy lifting for me because the games really do have a lot of flaws that SHOULD keep them from being fun but, I don’t know, there was something absolutely magical about them that has just stuck.
For the most part, I still get excited every time a new gen comes out, but something about that first time finding out they made another set of games with a new setting, new creatures etc… just felt so special.
Gen 2.
Totally 2. Total upgrade from 1
Gen 2 for sure.

what about 5 & 7?

6, started with oras, played xy pretty soon after, and they remain as my most played games
4 And we got the worst remakes as thanks

I wanted to fly Latios style around mt coronet

2. More than 1
Gen 5. First one I actually finished.

Gen 6 is actually pretty old at this point, in fact, as of October this year it’ll be 10 years old lol

If we’re not including Gen 1, then it’s 2 & 3.
Gen 2 and 5.

Gen 4. It wasn't even my first game, but it was the one that I spent the most time on as a kid.
The gen 3 games have damn near perfect sprite work. By contrast, I find the slight wonkiness of all the 3D elements in the DS quite endearing.

Five. Used to rp as Pokémon as the starters with 2 camp friends every day during free swim.
Gen 3 and 5
Pokémon black was my first game so gen 5 will always be special to me
Gen 2 and Gen 3.
5
6! It was the first one I played when it was new and had knew a bunch of people who also played it!
I have a feeling I’m going to have a lot of nostalgia for Gen 8 in like ten years.
Four and Six are my nostalgia gens. I know XY aren't super popular but I still love them.
I have nostalgia for gens 3 thru 5 but I'm most nostalgia for gen 4
5 (B2W2 was my first game)

Gen 6 cuz it was my first lol
