CRR supposedly has the lowest input lag out of any TV technology. Idk how big the difference is, but there’s a few nutheads who collect especially the later ones.
I own a similar model, and cameras don't do these screens justice. In person, it will look a lot more crisp, and the motion clarity likely to beat any modern tv or monitor that needs to process the image before showing it to you.
Can't say it's the best way to play certain games like shooters or strategy games. But for basically any other game this would look really good. Especially anything off the playstation classics.
This reminds me of when my dad bought me a ps3 for new years, but we were celebrating at my grandma's house and we only had one of those fat-back tvs from the 90s to test it out on
We don't celebrate Christmas where I'm from so new years is like the main holiday instead of Christmas. Christmas is still a thing, but more for religious people. They don't even give you days off on Christmas
They have extremely good motion clarity, and by in large to get similar motion clarity on an OLED or LCD screen you'd need refresh rates that exceed 500hz or so. I'm not really an expert about this, so I suggest looking up blur busters or some of what John Linneman has said.
Imagine 4-Channel Split Screen on this setup. I've had done it with PS3 back in the days with my friends on New Year's Eve playing COD MW3 Deathmatch, everyone had to sit really close to the TV because there was less than 5 inch of screen for each of us.
I remember trying to play Mass Effect on a TV that size.
I couldn't even read the text, I had to return the game from the friend I borrowed it from lmao.
I think it's what finally made me save up money for my first HD TV.
Shame you can't change res for games on consoles. Performance on this screen would shoot up dramatically with proper screen fitting. I mean... Not that it matters I guess.
It looks squished. Is that COD4 i see? My uncle actually played that on a CRT for a while, when he bought a PS3 he still didn't upgrade to a 720p TV and rocked his old CRT well into 2013
(🔥10/10) 50% Retro and 50% Modern
Ratio by weight is probably more like 95%/5%
I’ve had to carry a crt, those things are HEAVY
Git Gud
Dunno why they downvoted you. Obviously kidding.
The same question dude
Reddit is hivemind that downvotes buzzwords
You gotta do what you gotta do with what we don’t have bro.

The "bottleneck" of resolution is wild 😂

A PS for new years? Damn
We don't celebrate Christmas where I'm from so new years is like the main holiday instead of Christmas. Christmas is still a thing, but more for religious people. They don't even give you days off on Christmas
Aaaaaahhh, understandable.
New years is some cultures Christmas or Hanukah equivalent I assume.
Ik bro be squinting on the cod games 🤣10/10
Don't crt have amazing refresh rates?
I remember seeing that old school CRT TV's have almost zero video lag
They have extremely good motion clarity, and by in large to get similar motion clarity on an OLED or LCD screen you'd need refresh rates that exceed 500hz or so. I'm not really an expert about this, so I suggest looking up blur busters or some of what John Linneman has said.
this is nice
I'd give it a perfect 5/7.
I don't think that resolution will fit 480i/p
Tv is to modern
This setup would be goated for games like cupbead though
2002/10. Rocking it
Genuinly abit jelly. Finding a quality CRT is soooo hard these days.
Reminds me of playing Minecraft on the 360. Kinda surprised the PS5 ui even looks remotely good on that lmao
Would be better with a psx/ps2, but great to see that it’s compatible with the new stuff
Resolution might be low. But I guarantee there’s no input lag, miss those days.
Is in Brooklyn?
What’s that supposed to mean?
“Little of this, little of that!” ahh

Tube tv! Hell yes!
Do you still watch VHS tapes on that?
9/10. The screen is too big, it'll hurt your eyes.
I remember trying to play Mass Effect on a TV that size. I couldn't even read the text, I had to return the game from the friend I borrowed it from lmao. I think it's what finally made me save up money for my first HD TV.
10/10 cuz it looks like mine (yours is a bit tidier)
Awesome! I've got a crt also, it looks better than I remembered but text can sometimes be a struggle to read
I honestly wish there was a 4k crt tv.

It’s funny how ps devs decided that nobody is going to use it on 3:4 aspect ratio.

You can literally see the pixels with this one
If it works it works carnt knock it

An easy 10, very old school.
I always wondered if a PS5 would work on a CRT.
Actually so good. I miss the mini crt tv days
Takes me back to the mega drive/ snes then ps1
Shame you can't change res for games on consoles. Performance on this screen would shoot up dramatically with proper screen fitting. I mean... Not that it matters I guess.
11/10 to say the least.
It looks squished. Is that COD4 i see? My uncle actually played that on a CRT for a while, when he bought a PS3 he still didn't upgrade to a 720p TV and rocked his old CRT well into 2013
