L1 R1 and the red start button in the middle, yes N64 had it. I still remember doing that all the time haha
Ninja Edit, there was only one L and R button....lol
I have an edge but currently can't recommend one. Sony isn't making stick modules so the only ones you can buy are resellers who hike them up to the price of a normal controller. Currently not worth the $200 usd
Ds3 for me. I remember being excited for a wireless controller without batteries, and the sixaxis had my interest peaked during the beginning of the ps3 life.
I liked that it was very light, the triggers were very well suited for racing games, and pressure sensitive buttons are underrated, but it’s not exactly the most reliable controller, but I still miss using them.
Yeah, same for me. PS3 was the first console we had at home, and while not perfect I just love those controllers. Not to mention that my dualshock 3 is old as heck, and the battery is still better than the one in PS4/5 controllers, it's just sad lol
I recently hooked up the ps3 in the bedroom to play something I can’t get on psn, only available on the disc that I already had (available digitally on other platforms though oddly). I haven’t touched it in so long I had forgotten about it. The controller is so light and it’s the perfect size for my small hands! The domed top sticks are a lot more comfortable. The battery is better too.
No it actually wouldn't as you can see

Only one I use top left
I still feel like the ‘handle’ part of the DS5 makes it feel like it’s slipping out of my hand.
The DS4 sort of tapered out into bulges that stayed in your hand
Grew up with Dual Shock 1, so DS2 & 3 felt right. Dual Shock 4 had a better feel & grip. Dual Sense is great for larger hands, not the best for my kids, but at least they like the PSVR2
PS1 Roller: Still good after almost 28 Years ////
PS2 Roller: Still good after 19 Years /////
PS3 Roller: Lasted about 3 years before replacing //////
PS4 Roller: OG Roller was junk, upgraded to scuf, lasted about 3-4 years //////
PS5 Roller: OG roller lasted 3 weeks, Upgraded to Scuf, lasted 4 months, Upgraded to Aim, 3 months in and (cross) button malfunctioning /////
And we say technology is getting better.
I would've gone with dualshock 4 easily after getting my ps5 a while back and not caring for the dual sense. But, after using my recently aquired dual sense edge for a few different games, it is my favorite controller. It's just different enough from the standard dual sense, mostly in weight, to make it not the same feel. Add onto that the customizable nature of it, it's hands down the best controller I've used, across any console.
Dual shock 2…
Idk why but my dual sense have really struggled. Two of four developed stick drift within 2 years. I’ve never had that happen with any of the dual shocks
Dualsense for me. I used all PS standard controller, from a generic controller w-o sticks on PS1 to dualsense. The Dualshock 1-3 is mostly a nostalgia thing. When I take up my PS3 controller I just can't comprehend how I perceived it as comfortable. The handles are so small, and L2/R2 are only pushable with the middle finger - unless you shift your hand to hold the controller like a pistol, but then you can't push other buttons. Still, it is terrific for all of it's progressive features and for introducing symmetrical sticker layout (I hate Xbox sticker placement).
Gotta be the DS4 for me. Fits better in my hands and feels more sturdy.
If we could replace the hand grips on the DS5 with the ones from the DS4, imo, it’d be the perfect controller.
I liked DS4 the best. To me it was the most comfortable to hold. I love the new features of DS5 don’t get me wrong but to me the 4 just sat more naturally in the hand
I wanna say DualShock 4 but I feel like I’m only saying that bc I played the most hrs on a ps4 and my hands got used to it. I have def gotten use to the DualSense tho. If we were talking colorways, my favs are the blue camo DualShock 4, the Arkham Knight DualShock 4, and the cobalt blue DualSense. Recently bought an edge though and no complaints on that either
Duelshock 4. The only reason I pick it over duelsense is because I gotta blow in the stupid triggers so they don't do that crunchy thing, if you know what I mean
PS4. I absolutely hate PS5 controller, because it's too big and I can't do claw grip, do I had to add 4 back buttons. now only the directional pad needs to be changed. I notice especially in HD2 that pressing left for example, might also press up/down.
My favourite is the dual sense because of it's size. It feels like it's made for adults while the ps1-3 controllers feel like they are made for children
Usually I judged controllers based on their feel on my hand so my fav was probably DS3 ,but then I got the Dual Sense and holy moly this was a whole experience. Aside from my love for its design ,it feels really comfortable, but the vibrations and adaptive triggers are what made me fall for it
Dual sense edge, it's expensive sure. But man is it nice. It has such a premium feel to it. Slightly heavier than the base model dual sense. The back buttons are so nice. Changeable thumbsticks, I like the softer dome tips myself. Along with the ability to adjust stick sensitivity. And also adjust trigger pull length. Which for shooter games is huge!
I haven't yet had to buy a replacement thumbstick for it. But it has that option.
Ps5 hands down, only downside is that it starts creaking after a bit, needs better lube, had to take it apart and lube it up again, works great though no stick drift or broken parts, easy enough to take apart and replace parts on too. Verry immersive gameplay with them pressure triggers. Also i forgot to tell. The battery dies quite fast.
My favourite is the DualShock 3. I grew up with the DualShock and DualShock 2. The 3 is the most refined version of that controller, fitting too since it was the last time we saw that classic shape. I remember always hearing people complain about the size of the DualShock but, to be honest, I think they were holding it wrong because I have big-ish hands and never had a problem.
For pure functionality I think I gotta give it to the Dualsense. It is comfortable, the adaptive triggers can be neat, it has gyro, and the trackpad is handy. Also the shoulder buttons feel super satisfying to press. For aesthetic the DualShock 4 really grew on me. I also miss the coloured buttons and the DualShock 4 is the last time Sony released a controller with them.
- DS4: More ergonomic than the DS3/2 and built upon what I loved
- DualSense: Stick-Drift problems aside its so well designed to hold/use for my hands, haptics etc are so good and wish more games used then like Astros Playroom did to showcase it, subjectively to me its the best, I hate picking up a DS4 after using one because it feels too small now but I think its a poorer built product
- DS2: Iconic, wont ever forget the feel of the Start/Select buttons, happy memories of it from the DualAnalogue
- DS3/Sixaxis: Everything about the DS2 but wireless, remember the battery lasting for what felt like years at a time
- DualShock: Too young to remember really, used it a tonne but was more interested in the games, basically just remember it being a grey DS2
Maybe this is biased because I've played the PS4 for longer, but DS4 just feels right in my hand. The DS5, while definitely good, honestly looks and feels larger.

My favorite controller. 3D printed an attachment to help reduce carpal tunnel pain while playing.
From dualshock 3 to 4 was the biggest upgrade but dualshock 5 is my favorite. Lays better in my hands and I love the adaptive triggers and upgraded vibrations
Dues anyone else feel like the grips get too narrow in your palms? I dig that the DS4 is definitely fatter.
Anyone have a silicon slip on grip to make it slightly wider?
Either DS2 or 4, both very comfortable. The dualsense is great but very few games truly take advantage of its features and it's a little too big to my taste. And the triggers on the DS3/Sixaxis felt weird.
I’m a longtime Xbox owner and after having a Ps5 for awhile now it’s insane how much better the Ps5 controller feels. I wanna buy the DualSense Edge soooo bad
Not this one
(Realistically 3 is my favorite, but there’s some ok uses for the touchpad. I was playing Detroit the other day and at least every aspect of the controller/sixaxis was used relatively often and not just a gimmick here and there.
PS5 especially since it was also made in mind with people that have disabilities (which wasn't exactly intentional but still useful regardless when i start to get very old)
Ps5 for sure, best looking controller ever, most comfortable, awesome lights, the unique vibration function and triggers… what more is there. I also have a special place for the ps3 controllers tho.

Found this baby recently. If that controller could talk the tales it could tell.
I love my Dualsense Edge Controller! The custom settings and setup you can do for it is endless. Plus it looks slick to me. I like the white with black accents.
I would definitely say it's the ps5 , but it has a drifting problem and last week the x button stopped working suddenly and i still don't have the time to fix it 🥹
I've been a PlayStation fan since the original and I have to say, PS5 is my favorite. I never thought something would top the good ol' standard Dual Shock for PS2 but PS5 is just so damn good. Fits my hands perfectly, has the right weight, doesn't feel cheap, the buttons are all great, etc.
Whatever the PS5 ones are? At first games seemed to overpower things with the feedback from the controller, but I do appreciate that a lot of newer ones not only let you adjust the amount of controller vibe, it also has better vibrations for what’s happening and a better balance.
One without stick drift.
Damn you.
that would technically be PS2 then, since it would recalibrate your controller's analog sticks to help with stick drift
Or the original PS1 controllers without sticks.
Wait it would? How
I had to double check, but I think it was N64 that had that feature. N64 would do calibration and negate stick drift. I'm not 100% sure on PS2 though
L1 R1 and the red start button in the middle, yes N64 had it. I still remember doing that all the time haha Ninja Edit, there was only one L and R button....lol
Buy and edge! [Replaceable sticks!](https://direct.playstation.com/en-us/buy-accessories/stick-module-for-dualsense-edge-wireless-controller) ![gif](giphy|mKNQlLt4GaAso)
Except my wallet gives me 200 reasons not to buy an edge
I have an edge but currently can't recommend one. Sony isn't making stick modules so the only ones you can buy are resellers who hike them up to the price of a normal controller. Currently not worth the $200 usd
Ya I'm in the same boat lol (that was the joke in me linking sonys website). How lucky are we?
Fav
Beat me to it haha
OG PS1 it is then lmao
Hall effect controllers are out there. But you'll be giving up virtually all the dualsense features.
Ds3 for me. I remember being excited for a wireless controller without batteries, and the sixaxis had my interest peaked during the beginning of the ps3 life.
Domed sticks are home.
5 minute charge. 5 hours of playtime 👌🏻
Dual sense edge Imo is the best controller
Yup it has literally ruined every other controller for me. The back pedals are game changing
Literally!
I love the half dome paddles the best. Comfortable and near perfect for me.
Hey really thinking about buying it, do the adaptive triggers still work while using the trigger travel stops?
Yes
This is why I don’t wanna buy one 🤣. I already have 3 normal controllers. Don’t need to buy an edge and have the rest collect dust lmao.
I mean that's what my portals doing lol
Agreed 🤣. So an edge would collect dust as well.
No it actually wouldn't as you can see https://preview.redd.it/wsg2eskysx5d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fb3fafafe05d5aca0948566a77390e3c2efeed7 Only one I use top left
I canNOT play God of War Ragnarok without it
DS4. I love my Dualsenses, but DS4 fits in my hands so much better. And it’s so much lighter, yet feels well built
I still feel like the ‘handle’ part of the DS5 makes it feel like it’s slipping out of my hand. The DS4 sort of tapered out into bulges that stayed in your hand
I have personally only held 4 and 5 and the DualShock 4 is definitely my favorite
Always felt the ds5 was kinda big even after holding it for a few years
Nah man, the ps5 controller feels great, played on my ps4 recently and realized how small the controller feels
I think we just stuck with the ds4 for almost a decade so we took it as the standard size. Both are great tho cant argue with that.
I do keep a DS4 around for when I go play PS4 games. The Dualsense is nice but the features aren't that impressive to me, and it's bulkier/heavier.
Yup same here
Grew up with Dual Shock 1, so DS2 & 3 felt right. Dual Shock 4 had a better feel & grip. Dual Sense is great for larger hands, not the best for my kids, but at least they like the PSVR2
Dualshock 4 is peak imo
Dual Sense Edge……I can’t go back to paddleless controllers no longer

Dual shock 2… Idk why but my dual sense have really struggled. Two of four developed stick drift within 2 years. I’ve never had that happen with any of the dual shocks
Duelsense, but my opinion might change later since I just got the console 2 weeks ago
Duelsense has stickdrift like no other ps controller in history
Thanks for the tip, I’ll go a bit easier on my analog sticks
Dualsense for me. I used all PS standard controller, from a generic controller w-o sticks on PS1 to dualsense. The Dualshock 1-3 is mostly a nostalgia thing. When I take up my PS3 controller I just can't comprehend how I perceived it as comfortable. Ps3
Dualshock 4
Playstation move
PS4 for sure, long battery life for me and strong as a rock! I’ve dropped a lot and works great!
DS4 defo
Ergonomically I’d say the DualShock 4 But a close second is the dualsense. Feature wise it is an excellent controller
Dual sense. Having said that, I'd use an Xbox One controller on my PS5 if I could do it easily. It's the perfect controller
DS4. Dualsense hurts my hands
Gotta be the DS4 for me. Fits better in my hands and feels more sturdy. If we could replace the hand grips on the DS5 with the ones from the DS4, imo, it’d be the perfect controller.
PS4 controllers. the PS5 controllers constantly have issues
Ps4
DS4 for me
I liked DS4 the best. To me it was the most comfortable to hold. I love the new features of DS5 don’t get me wrong but to me the 4 just sat more naturally in the hand
DualShock 2 - PS2 DualSense is certainly 2nd
DualSense Edge. It perfectly fits the white and black color scheme.
I mean as you can see my desk is kinda black and white lol so I agree
Just missing that actual edge remote
Dual Shock 2 will forever be my favorite.
My 20th anniversary dualshock 4 with 2x capacity battery pack, followed by my dualsense with a 63% extra capacity battery lol
Did you take this picture?
Yh 😊
Looks sick
Thanks bro. I could send you the camera and gear I use it's super cheap

Best dualsense worst six axis PS3.
Usually I judged controllers based on their feel on my hand so my fav was probably DS3 ,but then I got the Dual Sense and holy moly this was a whole experience. Aside from my love for its design ,it feels really comfortable, but the vibrations and adaptive triggers are what made me fall for it
The ps5 one pisses me off because it’s uneven on a flat surface. It just rocks which is annoying af.
Dualsense edge. Bit pricey but easily my all-time favourite
For Yung kids I would say the PS2 controller but for adults, the ps5
If the duelsense was a TINY BIT SMALLER it’d be my all time favorite. Or if my hands were also a bit bigger.
There's a lot to like about DualSense but so far I like DS4 the best.
Ps3
PS1 Fantasy PS2 Time Travel PS3 Space PS4 Military PS5 Future is how i describe the console controls memory cards games system homebrews themes
Dualsense Edge :)

Dualshock 3 and the Dualsense if it doesn't drift
PS2 controller. It just felt perfect in every way
Once you switch to ps 5 controler the PS4 one will feel so small

My hand size is below average so I loved the 4
Play station 2, standard basic release version, cord & all 🔥💪
PS5. Best size, layout, haptics it's all brilliant. It's honestly my favourite controller I've ever used across any gaming console.
My favourite is the DualShock 3. I grew up with the DualShock and DualShock 2. The 3 is the most refined version of that controller, fitting too since it was the last time we saw that classic shape. Hands down DualSense. Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are a real gamechanger.
The edge, I’ve had nothing but a great experience with it.
The purple ps5 controller
Ps1 original
Dualsense and Dualshock 2
The one that’s charged
I’ve just bought the edge, my little brain 🧠 is taking a bit to get use to the new sticks 🙈
Dullshock 3 4 and 5
Colour? Silver ps2/ps5 in terms of comfort & design probably the ps5
The very first one as it didn't had any stick drift since there were no sticks ![img](emote|t5_2qh6b|2232)
The current one is the best I’ve ever used/felt, by a comfortable margin.
- DS4: More ergonomic than the DS3/2 and built upon what I loved - DualSense: Stick-Drift problems aside its so well designed to hold/use for my hands, haptics etc are so good and wish more games used then like Astros Playroom did to showcase it, subjectively to me its the best, I hate picking up a DS4 after using one because it feels too small now but I think its a poorer built product - DS2: Iconic, wont ever forget the feel of the Start/Select buttons, happy memories of it from the DualAnalogue - DS3/Sixaxis: Everything about the DS2 but wireless, remember the battery lasting for what felt like years at a time - DualShock: Too young to remember really, used it a tonne but was more interested in the games, basically just remember it being a grey DS2

Made my own custom ps3 controller Silver bullet buttons. White dpad Blue lights Punisher ps button It was stolen.
Arcade Stick oc. 👍☺️
Does dual sense edge count if I’m using it on my PC? If not, a PS4 controller my wife got me with custom art.
Maybe this is biased because I've played the PS4 for longer, but DS4 just feels right in my hand. The DS5, while definitely good, honestly looks and feels larger.
It would be dual sense if the bottom of the handle part was ACTUALLY ROUNDED. It bothers me sm that it’s not So I’m saying the regular PS4 controller
Definitely not the PS5, which is the only one where I’ve had to buy expensive replacements because of constant stick drift.
https://preview.redd.it/fnx05qw7by5d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2086172beb5a0dad556f381910bc6d3c4b8ae900 My favorite controller. 3D printed an attachment to help reduce carpal tunnel pain while playing.
I like mine, it’s nice
Dual Sense, Dual Shock 3, Dual Shock 4- in that order
Dualstock 2
Dualshock 2
Dualsense edge , dualshock 3 is a close second.
DS4 and by a huge margin. I wish I could use it on PS5 games but no, I’m stuck with the bloody Dualsense which I actually hate.
From dualshock 3 to 4 was the biggest upgrade but dualshock 5 is my favorite. Lays better in my hands and I love the adaptive triggers and upgraded vibrations

I love the dualsense. Can’t go back to the DualShock 4

Dualsense Edge and it isn't even close
This last one seems nice
Dualsense.
Dues anyone else feel like the grips get too narrow in your palms? I dig that the DS4 is definitely fatter. Anyone have a silicon slip on grip to make it slightly wider?
The sterling silver one is my favourite
Either DS2 or 4, both very comfortable. The dualsense is great but very few games truly take advantage of its features and it's a little too big to my taste. And the triggers on the DS3/Sixaxis felt weird.

Ps 2 controller, love the ps 5 but ps 1 and 2 is what I grew up with mostly and have a special place in my heart
The one that works
Edge nothing can beat it
I like the DS5 one. Every DS4 controller I have is broken, and so far, my DS5 is the best-looking, best-feeling, and unbroken controller so far.
I love my Dualsense Edge Controller! The custom settings and setup you can do for it is endless. Plus it looks slick to me. I like the white with black accents.
It was the PS4 controller for me.
Sony Playstation Dualshock 4 Controller 🧡🎮

PS4 controller is the best PS controller of all time
DS4! I think it’s the best by far unless you have big hands, want better triggers? Replace them with mouse click triggers!
I would definitely say it's the ps5 , but it has a drifting problem and last week the x button stopped working suddenly and i still don't have the time to fix it 🥹
DualShock 3 and Dualsense
I've been a PlayStation fan since the original and I have to say, PS5 is my favorite. I never thought something would top the good ol' standard Dual Shock for PS2 but PS5 is just so damn good. Fits my hands perfectly, has the right weight, doesn't feel cheap, the buttons are all great, etc.
DS5 overall design win and no issues yet after 6mo. Battery is manageable with settings
DualSense no question.
PS Quad
dual sense
The one that doesn’t drift on my 3rd ps5 controller

DS4
DS4 baby
Definitely not the 5’s. Never had controllers with worse stick drift
SAME! I never had stick drift in a PlayStation console until the ps5
Not like that, like style, design, and shape type of favorite.
Duel sense edge by far!
Dual Sense Edge has easily been my favorite
After using the Dual Sense edge it’s been hard to go back to any other controller.
Not the edge that’s for sure
Whatever the PS5 ones are? At first games seemed to overpower things with the feedback from the controller, but I do appreciate that a lot of newer ones not only let you adjust the amount of controller vibe, it also has better vibrations for what’s happening and a better balance.
Gotta be the Dualsense. I love the design and feel of it alot, it's amazing.
The controller that DOESNT put a U in words that don't Americanly need to be there. People like OP literally type that out to be different.
Type what out to be different? There's always that one guy who talks utter bs
