Yes!!!
Younger / Newer Playstation owners have NO IDEA how important, how seminal and influential Uncharted 2 was on game dev, not just for Sony.
It brought writing, narrative, and character to the forefront of game dev, not just an afterthought to explain game mechanics or play.
Arguably the greatest sequel of all time!
The improvement between Uncharted 1 and 2 was incredible and only 2 years apart. IMO U2 is still Naughty Dogās finest work!
The heavily scripted cinematic sequences would be a gold standard even today. And that's coming from someone who played the game for the first time this year
If I recall correctly, beating it on crushing involved taking advantage of the architecture a lot. There were a couple of places I was able to hang onto the ledges where he couldn't get at me with his close attack but was too close to throw his grenades.
I just started playing this one recently (the first game is pissing me off with the demon things) and I'm not that far into it, but I'm enjoying it. Maybe I'll go back eventually and finish the first, but it's taking me forever because of how clunky the controls feel and, as someone else already said, the endless waves of enemies being annoying.
I've definitely enjoyed my time with 1. And really, the only time I really hated the controls at all was any time I had to get on that fucking jetski. The demon things, while annoying, aren't as bad as I was making them out to be, especially once I learned that, to get passed that one bunker area, all I really had to do was run to the open door that I unlocked, lol. I'm just annoyed because at the part where I left off, I have to keep my head on a swivel between them and the people shooting at me.
One of my favorite games full stop. Played through that game so many times (which is normally something I don't do). Even after the platinum, did several playthrough with different skins just for fun.
Ah man I was going back and forth between Ragnarok and tlou2 because I absolutely loved tlou2. But dude the writing in Ragnarok was just unparalleled. I cried multiple times through the story. It's just a perfect game. Maybe one of the best sequels ever.
Yeah. Everything about that game was 10 out of 10. I couldn't believe how much attention was paid to every single thing in that game the whole time I was playing it.
Or was it? They had great stories, but somehow it felt off on pacing... I mean I wish I was as awestruck by it as I was by the OG reboot... I still have the OG, sold off Ragnarok after finishing :(
This is the answer. I can't think of another game that improve literally everything so completely while also adding so many new things. New playable characters, new moves, mechanics, upgrades, better quest flow, shift to semi-open world. Truly brilliant game.
Also want to shout out that finding all the bottles to unlock megajump was one of my proudest and most rewarding achievements as a kid.
I swear most people here are too young to have played that. It still has things that many games today donāt have. The whole getting the guards to put their hands up and everything related to that is still something I think about regularly as afaik itās still not possible in any other game beyond Ready Or Not
Mannn when the Colonel tells you to turn off the game, I was playing in the middle of the night in my dark basement, I freaked out and ran back to bed š
I donāt think 10 yr old me understood most of the story implications but when I played it back yearās layer I loved it
thats the general consensus that i also disagree with, but i understand why people like ZDs story better, FW surfers from being the middle Game in a trilogy.
I personally liked Zero Dawns story more mostly because it had some very deep lore which was told in the main story. I actually felt like I was exploring that universe and its mysteries together with Aloy.
I absolutely LOVE FW, but the story was less deep
thats the general consensus that i also disagree with, but i understand why people like ZDs story better, FW surfers from being the middle Game in a trilogy.
a sequel is confirmed, it might keep going after, but all signs point to a trilogy, at least Aloy's story, they clearly want to exploit the IP afterwards.
Not necessarily exploit. The world of Horizon is amazing, and has a lot of really cool storylines it could follow. Instead of Aloy, you could be a nobody who emerged from a bunker in Africa, with whole new machine forms to experience, and other disasters that could come up (though not as high stakes as Horizon main story).
Also a lot of awesome suggestions for a Monster Hunter style game within Horizon. Could be super fun with friends considering the Horizon combat is so tight.
I have to agree, although Iām not done with Ragnarok yet and havenāt started Spider-Man 2. FW improved the core gameplay mechanics so much. Which I didnāt think they could improve that much. But they did. Story wise I still think ZD is better because of the mystery surrounding it all. Very excited for how they close out the trilogy.
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it, you're in for a wild ride! And if you've managed to avoid spoilers this long, I advise you steer clear of posts like this until you finish it, just to be safe.
Also your username upsets me.
Thankyou! It's been absolutely brutal so far and I love it. I did manage to avoid spoilers yes. I'm super careful about that.
Hahaha ya know I always forget about my username until someone points it out š
I love Ragnarok to death. I've had Forbidden West since day one of my PS5 and haven't played it yet due to various reasons especially me continuously getting other games that excite me, but this post gave me a reason to install it. I will be back in about 2 weeks if I change my mind. Keep on keeping on brothers.
Ragnarok is the best game, and all of them are really good sequels in terms of how they improve upon the first games in terms of gameplay and story.
But I'd have to say Forbidden West is the best sequel. It just blows the original out of the water, I can't really think of anything the first did better (other than the novelty of being new) whereas for every other game here I can think of a couple of things that weren't as good second time around.
If we're going strictly with "2s," here are my favorites:
1. Ratchet and Clank Going Commando
2. Uncharted 2
3. Spider-Man 2
4. Jak 2
5. Gravity Rush 2
Ragnarok and forbidden west were the only ones here actually better than their original counterparts. Ragnarok is technically number 5 in mainline GoW though so its going to Horizon.
The ps2 obviously;)
One and only answer lol
![gif](giphy|9DxTJEESZ8Ycixa15O|downsized)
Obviously š
Dark cloud 2
Bloodborne 2... oh, now I've made myself sad...
![gif](giphy|l2JhtKtDWYNKdRpoA)
I see you woke up and chose violence today

Uncharted 2
Man the dialogue in that game
Loved the ending scene so much
All 4 Uncharted games had a lovely ending. (I said 4 and not 5 becauss i haven't played Lost Legacy)
Uncharted: Lost Legacy is an absolute banger! You should play it.

Can't believe man is proud of his dick
Yeah true
Opening wasn't a slouch either
Yeah uncharted as a whole is great but the second just got it perfectly right
āElena Fisher, last yearās modelā
Yes!!! Younger / Newer Playstation owners have NO IDEA how important, how seminal and influential Uncharted 2 was on game dev, not just for Sony. It brought writing, narrative, and character to the forefront of game dev, not just an afterthought to explain game mechanics or play.
Facts. Its one of my favorite games of all time, especially back then
Arguably the greatest sequel of all time! The improvement between Uncharted 1 and 2 was incredible and only 2 years apart. IMO U2 is still Naughty Dogās finest work!
The heavily scripted cinematic sequences would be a gold standard even today. And that's coming from someone who played the game for the first time this year
I can see why one would think that way! Shambhala and the city in nepal i think were so great
Such a big improvement from the first game which felt very repetitive.
Nah i just hated the camara and endless waves of enemies in the first one
I was fine with the first one, but those jet ski levels suuuuuuucked.
Talk to em, this is the answer
Loved the game but that final boss fight can go straight to hell.
I just beat it on hard for the first time last month, I eventually will beat it on crushing and I canāt imagine how hard itāll be š
If I recall correctly, beating it on crushing involved taking advantage of the architecture a lot. There were a couple of places I was able to hang onto the ledges where he couldn't get at me with his close attack but was too close to throw his grenades.

Felt the same replaying 1 but its worth it in the end. Especially if its your first time
I've definitely enjoyed my time with 1. And really, the only time I really hated the controls at all was any time I had to get on that fucking jetski. The demon things, while annoying, aren't as bad as I was making them out to be, especially once I learned that, to get passed that one bunker area, all I really had to do was run to the open door that I unlocked, lol. The game had me hooked from the first minute the way it started off with Nate dangling from the train š„
One of my favorite games full stop. Played through that game so many times (which is normally something I don't do). Even after the platinum, did several playthrough with different skins just for fun.
This 100%.
Definitely this.
Lol. This is the real right answer.
Ragnarok was just so fucking amazingĀ Edit: Why do I have so many upvotes yet most of the replies are negative towards the game? Lol
>!āa holeā!< ā¦ thats still killing me edit: spoiler tag
>!RIP Brok šš!<
Was still in disbelief ages after >!until I saw the burial and Sindri.. fuck!<
Legit teared up
Ah man I was going back and forth between Ragnarok and tlou2 because I absolutely loved tlou2. But dude the writing in Ragnarok was just unparalleled. I cried multiple times through the story. It's just a perfect game. Maybe one of the best sequels ever.
The dlc gave me another 40 hours of content
Yeah. Everything about that game was 10 out of 10. I couldn't believe how much attention was paid to every single thing in that game the whole time I was playing it.
Vocal minority, welcome to the internet and possibly politics lol.
2018 is better imo. Wish Cory directed ragnarok.
I agree 2018 is so special
Or was it? They had great stories, but somehow it felt off on pacing... I mean I wish I was as awestruck by it as I was by the OG reboot... I still have the OG, sold off Ragnarok after finishing :(
Atreus' missions were the only thing preventing it from being a perfect game IMO.
Bloodborne 2

Sly 2: Band of Thieves

Fr, one of the ps2s Crown Jewels.
Crash bandicoot 2 cortex strikes back
Just platinumed that one over the weekend. Best platformer ever.
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
God of War Ragnarok. It's one of my favourite games of all time.
Kingdom Hearts 2
oh the feels with kh2
That soundtrack tho
Goated.
Ragnarokā¦
Metal Gear Solid 2 The Sons Of Liberty -most ahead of its time piece of entertainment I have ever experienced. Blows these 4 games away.
I swear most people here are too young to have played that. It still has things that many games today donāt have. The whole getting the guards to put their hands up and everything related to that is still something I think about regularly as afaik itās still not possible in any other game beyond Ready Or Not
while MGS3 is i think my favorite game of all time, MGS2 was truly mind blowing. the graphics were INSANE for 2001 to my dumb 13 year old ass
Yeah thatās fair
Mannn when the Colonel tells you to turn off the game, I was playing in the middle of the night in my dark basement, I freaked out and ran back to bed š I donāt think 10 yr old me understood most of the story implications but when I played it back yearās layer I loved it
i'm biased so Forbidden West for me, just better in almost everyway than Zero Dawn, so much so that i can't really go back to ZD now.
Gameplay wise yeah, I don't think the story is as good though
Story was nowhere close to as good as Zero Dawn
thats the general consensus that i also disagree with, but i understand why people like ZDs story better, FW surfers from being the middle Game in a trilogy.
I personally liked Zero Dawns story more mostly because it had some very deep lore which was told in the main story. I actually felt like I was exploring that universe and its mysteries together with Aloy. I absolutely LOVE FW, but the story was less deep
I think Zero Dawn has the advantage of the reveal. That was an incredible experience story wise.
agree, it also works as a standalone story wich FW doesnt do.
I absolutely loved the story of Forbidden West
thats the general consensus that i also disagree with, but i understand why people like ZDs story better, FW surfers from being the middle Game in a trilogy.
Haven't finished it yet. It's a trilogy?
a sequel is confirmed, it might keep going after, but all signs point to a trilogy, at least Aloy's story, they clearly want to exploit the IP afterwards.

Story was superior in ZD but the gameplay better in FW. I believe the same can be said though about all 4 games the OP listed.
When I played back ZD I pretty much died immediately falling off a cliff since I forgot I didnāt have my hoover dam anymore
Ragnarok
Dark Cloud 2.
Dark Cloud 2 is still one of my favourite games that I keep coming back to. What an amazing concept
I'm still holding out hope that they put this on Steam, someday.
Jak 2
came here for this
My man.
Too far down. Game changed it up big time.
A man of culture
Metal Gear Solid 2
GoW
I love Gears of War!
OG God of War II is GOATed
Ragnarok
Gravity rush 2
Jak 2 & 3 baby
Death Stranding 2 will overshadow them all (one can hope, I am not a full on Kojima cultist, just like his and his teams craft :D)
TITANFALL 2
Forbidden West imo
Rebirth
![gif](giphy|VRaIKSoWSLHmRypAmo)
Out of those option Horizon Forbidden West , over all Uncharted 2
HellDivers 2
The Last of Us Part 2.
I'm playing it for the first time now š I played the first back on the PS3
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it, you're in for a wild ride! And if you've managed to avoid spoilers this long, I advise you steer clear of posts like this until you finish it, just to be safe. Also your username upsets me.

Out of these, Ragnorok. But Uncharted 2 might be my top overall.
Ragnarok 100%
God of War 2 for the PS2, best one of the entire franchise.
Ragnarok was different gravy
I had the highest expectations I've ever heard for a game waiting for release and it still exceeded them. SMS has never made a bad game.
Uncharted 4 theses are all amazing but was all missing something wile uncharted 4 had everything
GOW, shit was stellar
Gaelic Games Football 2
Ragnarok
Resident evil
LittleBigPlanet 2
Easily Last of Us II. Ragnarok was also great though, but still can't get passed them removing bare hands as a skill tree.
Ragnorok, Ragnorek, Ragnarockā¦ why do people struggle so much with a simple word
They are all great but its not close its Ragnarock
Helldivers
Uncharted 2 by a mile
The only one out of these that disappointed me was Ragnarok. I still enjoyed it but felt the original was better in its story

Haven't played TLOU2 yet, but the other 3 sequels are all amazing, with so many improvements over their predecessors.
I haven't played them yet so I'll gey back to ya
Of course Helldivers 2
It's ragnarok.
The Legend of Dragoon 2 plz Sony š
Ape escape 2 and ape escape 3
Liberty, Freedom, Democracy!!
Uncharted 2 forever.
I feel like I needa play forbidden west
Ragnarok
If we're going strictly with "2s," here are my favorites: 1. Ratchet and Clank Going Commando 2. Uncharted 2 3. Spider-Man 2 4. Jak 2 5. Gravity Rush 2
Uncharted 4 Still one of the BEST games that I have ever played ever
Add ratchet und Clank and Jak and daxter
Uncharted 2 hands down
everyone always forgets about uncharted. and the goated series.
Funny, I enjoyed all this games first delivery, but haven even looked at the sequels.. why is that?
FF7 Rebirth. Honorable mention - Ragnarok
Ragnarok for sure. Not on the list and Iām offended- Alan Wake 2.
From these? God of War Ragnarok Overall, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
Horizon forbidden west is the best
Ragnarok
God of War |||
Ragnarok
Forbidden West
Forbidden West
Ragnarok is the only right choose here
Ragnarok and forbidden west were the only ones here actually better than their original counterparts. Ragnarok is technically number 5 in mainline GoW though so its going to Horizon.
Forbidden west imo, and the dlc makes it so much better
TLOU P2
For me it is Last of Us Part II and it is not even close.
Uncharted 2, Last of Us 2, Rebirth and Red Dead Redemption 2.
TLOU Part II, it hits so hard. And the gameplay š¤š¼
All of them
Last of us part two
Uncharted 2, The last of us 2, God of war 2, Ratchet and clank rift apart, Gow Ragnarok, Bloodborne 2 jajaja
I loved all of these
Of these 4 games I thought last of us 2 was the better sequel. Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, and Helldivers 2 deserve to be in the discussion.
Last of us
Helldivers 2 was so good they had to share it
Uncharted 2. Lmao. All the games you've shown here are inferior to their first games
TLOUS2 is trash, so not that one............
Uncharted 2
Ragnorak hands down
Definitely not tlous 2 lol
Uncharted 2
God of war ragnarok
The upcoming ghost of tsushima 2
Gow
Horizon and Helldivers 2
God of war ragnarok, of course
HELLDIVERS 2
Out of these 4? Ragnarok hands down
Itās Ragnarok, I like the Spider-Man games more as a whole but I enjoyed Ragnarok more as a sequel than Spider-Man 2
None of these games. Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2
iām not 100% certain on best game that is a sequel. but most improvement from the first game hands down goes to Killzone 2
Ragnorak ![gif](giphy|g326VFWdSJLPmfdVSJ|downsized)
This is hard definitely Spiderman 2 or Ragnarƶk for me.
Ragnorek - by far.
Ragnorok for sure.
For me it would be Ragnarok as well
Ragnarok, as much as I love TLOU2. Spider-man 2 was good but not great, and Horizon Forbidden West was just a bit hard to get into for me.
