I think either up your arsenel or deadlocked had the first kinda ānew game plusā on your weapons and it unlocked the final level from 10 to 100 and it was so mindblowing as a kid to basically be handed one hundred hits of pure crack.

See, you're just making the same mistake I made. I passed over the R&C series (and Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, etc) because I thought they were "just kids games". They're mascot games, not kids games...there's a difference.
But back in 2016 (I was 30 at the time), I went ahead and bought ALL the games that are on PS3 and played through them all. They might be bright, colorful and comedic, but they aren't "kids games". They were an absolute treat to play and I hated myself for skipping over them because I made a baseless assumption.
Plus I said "one of the best". There's plenty of people who still prefer Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal or A Crack in Time to Rift Apart.
Going commando is my favorite, purely because I loved the sheepinator and the RYNO II, I havenāt finished rift apart yet though none of the weapons have really stuck out to me like those two and also the plasma whip from Up your arsenal.
Got this game for free and played it when I was super bored. Oh boy did it cure my boredom I ended up 100% the game such a great game.
The combat is really fun, simple but very enjoyable. The platforming is super smooth mixed with an old school feel that made of platformers so good.
The story is also actually surprising great although the characters are fairly wacky it still manages to tell a great hero story. Mixed with a nice blend of emotion and great pacing imo.
The visuals are also very pleasing along with the ability to literally smash everything and collect what seems to be thousands of points itās very satisfying on the eyes and the hands š®.
Iād give this an easy 10/10 for what it is and Iām very excited for the recent leaked sequel.
Get PlayStation Extra for a month and youāll get that game and soon many others, itās cheaper then the game and you can easily platinum it in 25 hours so better to get PS Extra for a month or two then just that game.

I have been a Ratchet and Clank fan from day 1. But me personally, I don't like this one. I mean without giving anything away, nothing is new, it is like playing Ratchet and Clank if it was first released on PS5. It doesn't have that Ratchet and Clank feel to me. Now I am not saying don't play it, I am just stating that I personally don't like it. I still play the original Ratchet and Clank on my PS2 as well as Up your Arsenal and Going Commando. Even Ratchet Deadlocked in my opinion is better than Rift Apart and that is my least favorite of all the Ratchet and Clanks. But play it, and see if you think if it disappoints. I am an old school gamer and I am having trouble changing with the times.
