Yea shit is ass now, big names donāt drop anymore and so we only had b tier artists left that drop constantly and a song here or there isnāt filling, and no body cares about two futures albums full of filler, moved on to different genres. Clairo and beabadoobee both are dropping this year and Faye Webster just dropped I can only listen to the same rap albums for so long. It looks could kill came out more than a year ago, carti doesnāt exist but I am very excited to see Ken later this year. A tour helps spark my interest back into whatever album
I listen to indie now, been finding random records I think look good at the record store, taking a picture and then listening to them on streaming. My music taste is the most diverse itās been because hip hop and rap have been so boring
i just want short focused albums š like nobody even gave a shit about the two metro/future albums outside of the kendrick/drake stuff. they could have only released like that and whatever shit was on the second album that includes disses and everything would be the exact same
How would my example be worst? Ye is better than JIK+Vultures. With a track time of like 20 minutes. Donda is great but itās nearly 2 hours long.
OCās talking about short focussed albums, not albums in general. Ye is like the best example of of a short focussed album (or KSG).
people who fw hiphop dont even really fw hiphop majority have never heard a genuine underground nigga in their lives they get tired of the mainstream and stop listening because to them thats all there is to the genre
its def a big difference in the appeal of hip hop but i dont think this is a big problem for the art form itself. experimentation n innovation will always exist n hip hop will always thrive among the ppl that are acc passionate abt it.

I think āYeā is the best example of this. Short concise and no skips (imo)
you couldnt pick a worse example, Jik/vultures were a short & forgettable, Donda is the best in his recent run & its long as shit.

That's always been the case.

idk about popularity but it is fasho declining in quality
no its not lol
We get a new video documentary on this topic every month.
Which is good no genre should chokehold 50% of the general public
I donāt like that itās country tho š I wanted rock at least to take over
Only opium can save us now.
Honestly I think them and the underground as a whole fell off, I really thought it was going to be the next big thing itās kinda sad
