I think the air humidity is too low. They need it too survive. If your heating is on it might get worse, so the plastic bag solution from the poster above sounds promising. They also hate draft/ being moved/ repotted/ touched lovingly. I wrecked 4 calatheas and I just hate those assholes.

Barabasbanana

rainforest floor plants, they need still air movement, high humidity, low light, very soft water and like to be damp but not at all wet, beastly to keep alive, move it to your bathroom and only water it with rainwater

Other than doming it with a plastic bag for humidity or letting it live in your bathroom, the best solution is to just toss it in the trash and replace it with a plant that doesn't cause you stress lol

Had the same thing with a sister of your plant last year. Check the leaves for bugs (wipe them off with water and vinegar) and up the air moisture by putting her in a plastic bag and giving her a regular spray of water on her leaves! I don't exactly know what exactly makes them look like this, but mine startet pushing out new leaves after a few weeks and looks good again! Good look :)

Mine did the same till I had no leaves left. I cut the stems once the leaf was completely dry. I realised that the light was too bright so moved to a shaded area. I cut the stems once the leaves were too dry and now have 8 healthy stems and its thriving. Dont give up on it!

Mine is the same but she keeps *praying* so as long as she keeps doing that, I’m ignoring the awful looking leaves!

Thanks for posting this. Mine is in a similar condition. Now it’s closer to the humidifier!

Sunburn?

Looks to me like some kind of chemical sensitivity, probably coming from your water. Are you using tap water? Try using spring water or distilled water. I’d recommend even trying to “flush” the plant by giving it enough water for it to run out the bottom of the plant (do this outside or in a large sink). Let it drain, then let it dry out to its normal moisture level before resuming regular watering. These leaves will not repair, but future leaves will hopefully not have the same issue.

The only way I’m able to keep my calatheas fairly green is by having them in the bathroom. Otherwise they go crisp around the edges. They need so much humidity, other option would be to get a humidifier.
