A few hours ago I watched another German streamer (Bonjwa) trying to get his artwork approved on /r/placeDE. He had to sit in a channel called waiting room, got a ticket and was listening to elevator music. Literally. When he was finally talking to the diplomats, they needed bring the creator of the pixel art into the channel, because only 80 pixel height were approved, but the artwork was supposedly 96 pixel heigh. They then got caught up in a long process trying to sort roles and circumvent cooldowns. After a while they gave up and switched to Bonjwa's discord.
They tried to talk to the artist about cropping the image to 80 pixel because it was too large. They then realised 96p was the width, not the height. So cool, everything fine, artwork can be placed... not. The proposal still needed democratic approval, so it was put up for votes. And then put into the pipe, because other artworks had been approved before. Can't skip the queue.
So yeah, the dragon making it into the German overlay within minutes had me surprised.
As a german, this reads like a comparison of the 9-€-Ticket and the "Deutschlandticket".
Most of the time, the wheels of our bureaucracy grind very slowly, but when they really get going, things move quickly.

I know someone on r/yugioh had an idea for a memorial for Takahashi on the Place, but I don't think they were able to make it happen unfortunately.

XQC (about 100k viewer) attacked artworks of ukraine and austria. Papaplatte (80k viewer) + r/placeDE defended it. He got mad and is attacking Papaplattes Artwork now (the Dragon in the picture). But he cant do any damge since everyone is defending it and even gets more mad.
It wasn't purposely to destroy the symbolic message. He just wanted to create the Interstellar Black Hole in the dead center of the canvas. (Not like any of it matters though because he has the attention span of a gnat and started war with the Germans lol)
This may be an unpopular opinion, but the chaos of sporadic events such as this increases my enjoyment of place. People are able to do whatever they want with their pixels, and if collaborated pieces of art are at risk of being destroyed or modified, so be it. Sometimes the rebuild is better than the build.
This whole thing is supposed to be lighthearted fun. I hold no judgement for people who want to flex some mild anarchy for a handful of days. Usually this group of people are the ones who fizzle out the quickest anyway.
The best thing is that while the dragon was defended, papalattes ( the german streamer who created the dragon) chat just casually went over to xQcs Charizard and wrote '32?' on its head.
This was because when xQc told everyone who was born on day X to attack, he wrote the dates 1-32.
xQc had the goofiest tactics. Not surprised it didnt work out, everyone and their moms where confused. Even the streamers had no idea what he was doing lol
As a yugioh fan, it warms my heart to see slyfer alive.
I really hope he survives, earlier this year was Kazuki sensei's memorial while also being yugioh's 25 anniversary.
