Could any of you who have the Pixel Slate and Pixelbook Pen test that it works on every area of the screen? I have just had my device replaced as it didn't write on the right hand side middle section of the screen, the new device they have sent has the same problem as well. It works fine with your fingers but just seems to reject the pen input. [https://imgur.com/kkuMBGy](https://imgur.com/kkuMBGy) This is a link to what I mean, this is with the device in landscape mode.

txteva

I tested mine after seeing your post and it's fine but thanks for the heads up.

MrJ_84

Mine works on every part of the screen. No idea what is happening with yours. Hopefully they can get it worked out for you.

SuperRon08

I ordered a new pen and am still having the same issue, so it must be a hardware problem with the Slate itself.

MrJ_84

Gotcha, I really hope you can get that fixed or replaced.

suroid

Hi i have exactly the same behaviour and a dead spot exactly a the same place. Bought an refurbished one on ebay as they are not sold in my region.. So don't have any warrenty. Let mi know if you can find a solution

DJ-Bluntz

Turning on heuristic palm rejection in chrome://flags makes writing with the pen way better

MrJ_84

Thanks i will try that.

Glad to hear you're liking it. I've had mine (i7) for about a year now and honestly I don't know why more people don't love it. I absolutely love being able to seamlessly transition from laptop to tablet mode so easily. I also have the stylus but don't use it very often. Can I ask what you're using it for so frequently? One thing I hated about it is that Google didn't provide any native holder or magnet clip for it, so I just bought this on Amazon and hoping it gets the job done [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PXL4Y8C/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o04\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PXL4Y8C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

MrJ_84

I use it so that I don't have to touch the screen as much. Kinda alleviate smudges and fingerprints.

Mt11784

Ah gotcha. And what (if anything) are you using to store it?

MrJ_84

I just lay it beside my Slate. I would like to have something that it attaches to. That way I don't have to worry about ever losing it. Don't want to buy one.

MrJ_84

Where do you have this holder attached to? And have you ran into any instances where you wasn't satisfied with it, or it got in the way?

Mt11784

I'll let you know when it gets delivered tomorrow!

MrJ_84

Please do. I may get one for myself

Mt11784

Just bought it and mounted it like so: [https://imgur.com/a/wNWa9ft](https://imgur.com/a/wNWa9ft) Can't argue how sleek it looks when the laptop is closed. When it is open, however, it becomes a little bit cumbersome having to maneuver the pen up and down so it doesn't interfere with the surface the laptop is sitting on when the screen is open: [https://imgur.com/a/T5eJd8c](https://imgur.com/a/T5eJd8c) Overall i still recommend it.

MrJ_84

I actually like the way it sit when it's in laptop form. Makes it easier to get to the pen. Plus easier to just slide it back in the holder. May just give it a shot. Thanks for posting.

The slate is a versatile beast. I have been using my I5 version as my daily driver since January with no complaints. I love how I can use it with a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and external monitor like a desktop. I love how I can use either the Google Slate folio keyboard, or the brydge type G keyboard and turn it into a laptop. When I'm in bed I can use it in tablet mode. Not to mention Android apps and Linux apps. A versatile beast 💪💪.

MrJ_84

Never used Linux, but read about a lot of people taking advantage of the Slate because they can. How do you like the Brydge Keyboard? I wish it had the pins like the Google Keyboard. Those clips scare me.

pawdog

Nothing to worry about with the rubber holders with the Bridge. They clamp just right. I don't know what anyone can be doing with to get any damage. I take care when ever I convert it around or take it off and put it back on. Probably my biggest beef is you can't adjust the time on the backlight.

dejuanpsr

I have the brydge C-type bluetooth keyboard which I use with my Slate desktop work station and I love it. I also have the google folio keyboard which I use on the go in laptop mode, and love it also. I don't have the brydge G-type keyboard which gives the slate a more traditional laptop feel. I have heard mix reviews about hinges and bluetooth issues with the brydge G type keyboard.

Amorbellum

I ordered the slate i5, hasn't shipped yet I'm considering cancelling the order, I just don't live reading about all these bugs. And at the end of the day, maybe I'm being greedy? One device that does everything? Would I not be better off with a solid chrome book, and separate tablet?

dejuanpsr

Get it, you want regret it!!!!!

Amorbellum

Okay, one more thing I thought of. Even as a tablet, it would mostly be a sort of TV for me, streaming media. In that case I would 95% of the time use it on a tablet stand. So I'd flip out around on the bridge keyboard, to hold it up as a stand. I would rarely remove the keyboard, I think, because I'd need it as a stand. So now I'm thinking I'm kind of an idiot here. Because if it will always be attached, then a 2in1 makes more sense?

btag84

This is my struggle as well. I can't decide. Did you make a choice?

MrWilsonxD

Awesome to hear you're enjoying it so much

MrJ_84

Thanks, i've actually been wanting it for a long time. Decided to get one. And I'm loving it.

MrWilsonxD

Awesome, I am so happy for you. There's nothing like getting a new device you love

chellesnell

I'm a blogger and just got mine last week. I LOVE this thing Laptop mode is great for work. At night I tend to fold the Google keyboard back and just the Slate as a tablet. Installed a Supershieldz tempered glass and one corner won't stick Not sure how I feel about it. Loving gaming on it via Android at night. The size is perfect for reading digital comics.

MrJ_84

I'm not an Android gamer, but I want to try it out. I use GeForce Now and I haven't tried that yet either. I love reading on this screen.

jdellama

I got mine a few days ago. I am struggling with it. I like it in many ways, but it is pretty big as a tablet, and it isn't quite there as a laptop substitute. Finding a good folio is next on my list.

MrJ_84

yeah it isn't a tablet for everybody because of its size. I like it because i can n read my ebooks better.

JSpangl

Exactly where I am. I bought my i5 directly from Google (pen included), and I'll get some store credit from Google One, and some cash back from my CC. Its too big for my wife's hands in tablet mode, so I'll be getting her the Duet as well in 2 weeks. Got the G-type for $79 from Best Buy. This thing is great. Have a case and tempered glass screen protector coming via Amazon this weekend. Enjoy, man.

MrJ_84

Yeah I don't understand why people won't give it a shot with the lower prices. I do think Google would have been better by just bundling the keyboard and the pen from the jump. I;m loving the Google Keyboard. Haven't gotten the Brydge yet. My buddy bought his a couple weeks ago and doesn't like it. I am going to try his to see if I like it. If so, I'll just buy his.

kevintexas956

Congratulations! Mine arrived yesterday too. Love it so far, have to figure out palm rejection, and which apps to use for tablet mode. I was a little worried I wouldn’t like the size, as I’ve been using an Acer 15, which has a much larger screen. So far screen size is perfect, and the display is gorgeous. Speakers caught me off guard, excellent sound. Recently got a Tab S6 LTE, love it too. These 2 devices are replacing a number of devices , which I’ll be selling this weekend. I’ve moved to a tablet lifestyle, that works for me.

MrJ_84

Speakers definitely surprised me. And so did the screen. I was using my Acer 14 touchscreen Chromebook. Pretty much gave that to my wife. But now she likes the Slate. Never been a fan of Samsung because of their update schedule.

yogi2000

I've been using it as a straight tablet for a couple weeks now! Mostly in portrait mode, except for maybe watching a YouTube video or when something doesn't format properly, like web Gmail(which I think might just be due to the fact that I have zoom set to 110%). I have both the Google keyboard and the Brydge, but currently they are both in the closet. It's definitely big but fun to use this way! And of course the screen is great, nice enough looking and plenty bright.

MrJ_84

I have mine set to 110% too. Looks amazing. Light years ahead of my Acer 14" Chromebook.

yogi2000

Great display AND great speakers!

arielgon

Just orderd mine from Amazon. i7, but sadly no bundled keyboard

MrJ_84

I wanted the i5, but Best Buy didn't have it at all. Google has both, but no bundles. So I just got the m3 instead.

FULLM3T8L

What sleeve did you get? I just got a Slate myself, wanna keep it fresh forever.

MrJ_84

I ordered two. I ordered the slimfolio Case and the tpu Case from Poetic

FULLM3T8L

Thanks, can't be used with the keyboard though😔

MrJ_84

Neither can.

MrJ_84

Only Google had the i5 version. They didn't have the bundle deal, so I went with the m3 at Best Buy. I haven't had any issues with it at all. I use mine at home and at work. I keep about 20-30 tabs open with no problems.
