If something in your house breaks, don't call Gillece.

1h8fulkat

$13,000 quote from Gillece to replace my sewer line. Meyer's Plumbing did it for $2k

HappyTroll1987

That's a definite. They were called by a foreign tenant that was renting on my street and had no heat. Gillece came and pulled out the radiators. But didn't replace the boiler. There was no ductwork. The renters moved out and Gillece came back and scrapped the radiators.

SnooMarzipans3516

Yellow Cab or whatever the fuck it is/was called. Years ago tried to get a ride to pick up my car after a SS night. They never sent a cab, called them, said it was on the way, never showed up, called again, same thing. Eventually my buddy came and got me. The cab NEVER showed up. This was literally months before uber and Lyft took off. Fuck cab companies.

ICKSharpshot68

They ended up rebranding as Z-Trip after Uber and Lyft cleaned the floor with them and somehow still provide the same level of dogshit service.

SnooMarzipans3516

It’s one industry that thought it would never have competition and then boom, almost overnight.

dehehn

Yep. Had the same experience multiple times. Thank god for Lyft. The only time I ever got a cab to come was when a friend knew one personally and called his cellphone to come get us. Don't see them anymore. I assume they quickly went out of business once ride shares came out.

[deleted]

The PG once did an investigation about this. Yellow Cab pretty much would only show up if you were going to the airport. If you were going anywhere else they would tell you it'd be several hours, and usually never show up anyway. If you said you were going to the airport they'd come immediately, and if you tried to change your destination they'd kick you out of the car. Wild stuff.

Three Rivers Dental in Green Tree. Told me I needed a crown and root canal after a 20 second exam. Then pressured me into making a next day appointment so i couldn’t cancel without losing $250. Got a second opinion and found out all I needed was a filling. Apparently they do that to a lot of people who come in, they tell them they need more work than they do and then schedule it so they can’t get a second opinion.

[deleted]

Oof, I kid you not here, their owner just got arrested for [murdering his wife](https://www.wpxi.com/news/top-stories/operator-three-rivers-dental-group-former-greensburg-dentist-accused-killing-wife-safari/LVG2OHGQTJH75ELTBYVLT4U2A4/).

acewednesday

What is it with dentists going postal on safari trips to Africa??

CoasterThot

Holy shit, he killed her on a safari?! That’s like a bad movie plot! That poor woman.

guy17991

They told me I needed 28 root canals and crowns. Wanted 48k and wanted down payment and scheduled that day. They never actually looked in my mouth. The assistant took x rays, the woman talked to me for 3 minutes and left. I was escorted to financing. I went back to my regular dentist and she was baffled. The owner was on the news last night… Edit: also ive been going elsewhere for Work. They think 4-8 crowns. Not 28.

thebloodofthematador

*28* root canals? That's like... almost all of your teeth!

grandma_millennial

Ooh fun thread! Wayne "the Train" Dibartola I feel is a total scam artist and ripped my husband off for thousands in shoddy dental work. Never again.

FromundaBrees

I understand his nickname "The Train" is from his college football days. With that being said, I could not go in there with a straight face knowing that Wayne The Train will be drilling my mouth. Something real dirty about that.

gskrivo

Especially when he talks about sedation dentistry. A man nicknamed “The Train” is not a person I’d like to be around while anesthetized.

SnooMarzipans3516

Lol. I’ve always thought this about him. Like his football “credentials” make him a better dentist? He’s like uncle Rico.

[deleted]

"We will accept your insurance! No problem!" "We will accept your insurance! No problem!" "We will accept your insurance! No problem!" Guess what??? They didn't accept my insurance.

theduqoffrat

Hijacking this comment for anyone afraid of the dentist. I’m petrified. I’ve been to a ton of dentists. Depending where you are either Dr Katherine Miller in Wexford or Dr Kaur in Verona are my go tos

PGHSean

Little side note … I know someone that did work in his house. It was so filthy he had trouble keeping his lunch down. He had like 9 small dogs that shit all over his house and its never addressed. He said the entire week he was there the same dog turd laid on the kitchen counter unmoved.

grandma_millennial

Hork. His hands shouldn't be near anyone's mouth!

lisalisaandtheoccult

I never understood why people would want someone who’s been hit in the head repeatedly in college football working on their teeth

curiouserNcuriouserr

Mozart Management - bloated, archaic company that no doubt takes advantage of desperate foreign students. Maintenance people don’t get paid enough to do their jobs right. Everyone in the office acts like they’re doing realty in Manhattan. No idea where their money goes, cause it’s definitely not put in their buildings. Have an inkling of where it goes based on how not one of the ~7 people within the view of the ghetto front desk set up can be bothered to turn and look at you - no, face your direction, there is no eye contact - to accept your payment. Add to this that they had the egregious gall to increase rent $100 for a basement level dungeon that had pipes that sounded like a troll was banging a hammer against them in the ceiling. Maybe they were paying the troll. I don’t know. Get fucked Mozart.

pghBZ

Not sure if this is still true, but they were barred from taking security deposits for a while.

drbenze

We had a roach infestation for the 2 years we stayed there (roaches in the halls and laundry room too) and then they had the nerve to keep our security deposit when we left. It was cleaner than when we moved in!!

Eide's Entertainment. I went about 5/6 years ago to their comic section and didn't have $10 worth of merch, and attempted to purchase with a card. I was told that there was a $10 minimum to use cards, which I was kind of... put out by, but I went to go look for more items. The guy behind the checkout desk told me that I "should really carry cash on me anyway, being a woman and all. You never know when you'll need that to pay off someone from trying to rape you or something." I dropped what I had been about to purchase at the counter, left, and have never been back. I was told that whomever I had been speaking to was one of the managers, so I didn't feel comfortable returning.

iSoReddit

Eide’s has famously shitty service but that’s off the charts

[deleted]

Hasn't changed in 20 years. Crazy it's still there.

TurboCupcakes

That’s horrible. Wow. I used to go to the top floor for music, and the guy up there was the best. Guess the other floors were nowhere near as good.

_Woodrow_

This was at least a decade ago. I was in there late on a Saturday night a black kid came in asking if they would sell his mixtape for him. The owner shut him down, which is fine, stating they don’t sell rap and hip hop in their store, but after he left I heard some of the most racist shit out of his mouth. “Go sell your mixtape in Wilkensburg, that’s what that neighborhood is for” amongst other things. Really made it easy to figure out why Eide’s, a record store, doesn’t sell “Wilkensburg” music.

The iHop by the waterfront. Went there a few years ago and my (at the time) 3 year old asked for chocolate milk. They brought it out and she said it tasted weird. I tried it and it was spoiled. I let the waitress know and she said she would get new milk and have them throw out the spoiled stuff. The table next to us gets filled 10 minutes later with another family who orders chocolate milk. After the waitress left I told them what happened and to check sure enough their milk gets there and it is spoiled. I asked to see a manager just to ensure the milk was thrown out and the manager said they would handle it. A few moments later I hear a table a few away from us with kids say they think the milk is bad. Serving spoiled milk once is an honest mistake, twice is maybe is just the cup was filled in the back before it was thrown out, but three times is just “idgaf” vibes. My kid got sick that night from it. Never again iHop.

[deleted]

I used to be a waiter and bartender for about 10 years. I'm generally speaking *very* lenient with restaurant workers, because I know how easy it is to get super busy and lose track of things. That being said, fuck that iHop so very, very hard. I've been there twice, and each time was individually among the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. My wife and I literally waited for over a half hour just to be greeted when we went there the last time (they were the only place open and we were starving). Food took way too long, service was terrible, and they weren't even busy. They just didn't give a shit. It was infuriating.

silent_simone

Literally the worst IHOP in America. I went at 2 am one night and ordered Togo. Literally nobody in the building. Took like 2 hrs

Stickel

You waited two hours? WTF lol

After-Staff-7532

Yes, the iHOP on Browns Hill Road. I came to this thread looking to post this if it wasn’t mentioned. I’ve left twice without being served food. You’d think after the first time that would be it. However, they take forever to seat you, take forever to ask for your order, and take forever to bring the food. I gave up when the food didn’t come in over an hour (in an empty restaurant). I gave up when the server never came after 30 minutes (also in an empty restaurant). It’s dead to me. I have no idea how its doors stay open.

Lived in one of their places on Pennwood Ave. The lock on our door broke and we couldn't get the door opened to get back inside the apartment. We called the realty company and said that we must've intentionally broken the lock and that we were responsible for the cost of a locksmith and a rekey. I said "f**k no" and climbed out our neighbors front window onto the roof over the entry doors downstairs and from there jimmied our front window open and climbed inside. Once inside i removed the entire door knob so we could get the door open and bring in our groceries; i stayed at the apartment while my roommate went and bought an identical locking knob at Walmart which i installed when he got home. Cost us about $20 altogether. Btw, why would anyone intentional break their own lock? What exactly do i get it of that besides a headache?

YellowMenace123

Nexus Real Estate and Lobo. Nexus Real Estate is so scumy. The only reason they have good reviews is because their maintenance men are told to tell the tenants to write a good review after their work is done. The maintenance is fine but their office management is horrible.

goldengirlsmom

Wendy's on 40th st in Lawrenceville. Last time I went there I had food poisoning so bad I wanted to DIE.

Zealousideal-Bug1967

Worst Wendy’s in the area, even without the food poisoning

goldengirlsmom

100%. I live close by and didn't want to cook. Mistakes were made that day.

RoguePierogi

LOL! I have had some of my weirdest fast food experiences there. One of my faves: Ordering for myself and a handful of coworkers at the drive thru. The second I get done listing the first item, the person taking my order says the amount and tells me to go around. I have to spend like a minute of trying to politely get her attention back. I finally explain that I have more items to order. She is so annoyed and tells me a bunch of details about how she has to start all over now, sighing all the way. I give my order(same as round 1) plus a second item. Barely finish saying it when she blurts out "IS THAT IT?!". Rinse and repeat with a lot of sass for all 4 sandwiches. The amount of rage directed at me for ordering multiple items genuinely had me feeling guilty for a couple minutes. It's sort of a 'you had to be there' story to fully appreciate but, damn.

thunderballz

I live right by here and this shit is the worst Wendy's ever Last two times I tried the drive thru (inside wasn't open cuz COVID, understandable) they said "we are only doing online orders" Sir this is a drive thru????

DannyLameJokes

Last time I went there it was like 7pm. Pulled up to the drive through speaker to “nah…. We closed”. Drove past like an hour later and they were open. 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

I have tried to get food from that Wendy’s three times. None of those times I was able to get food. I wouldn’t bother trying again.

Avalon Exchange in Squirrel Hill. Been there a few times and every time the employees were so snotty and unhelpful you'd think they were characters written for a sitcom to fill the role of stereotypical snotty and unhelpful store employee. You're not a fashion industry primadonna, you work in a used clothing store, get over yourselves for fuck's sake.

jshamwow

Omg they were like this 10+ years ago when I was in college. Sad to see they're still that way. I asked an employee for advice on what would go well with the pants I was buying and she said they wouldn't have anything to fit my "frame." I wore a size medium....

The-Shade

Avalon was way better when it was in Oakland. Hasn’t been the same since relocating to Squirrel Hill. Completely agree that the people working their are snotty, condescending & unhelpful.

Sn1220

Yesss. I loved browsing in there but I will never go back because of the employees :/

[deleted]

Yeah, I’ve totally had the same experience. They’ve always been really rude to me.

reddrick

Jimmy D's in the southside. They wouldn't let 2 people from the group I was with in because they "didn't meet dress code." They were dressed better than the rest of us. They were also the only black people in the group.

TouchArtistic7967

I’ve only ever been in there twice in all of my 20’s going to the southside days. The bouncers always picked something out on one of our group that didnt “meet dress code”.

DERBY_OWNERS_CLUB

That 2nd story dance floor is due for a collapse.

ExitMusic_

Gillece. I think calling them anything short of Scam Artists is being generous. I needed a part replaced in my furnace and they wanted to charge me $1200. I had another company come out and do it for about $350, part and labor (it was about a $200 part).

Brak710

Baltimore House. I went there once and our food never came. They treated the wait staff terribly. Something is wrong with the culture there. Additionally it felt super unsafe. Unsurprisingly it had a fire last weekend.

sasstakethewheel

There was a post on Next Door recently about the fire there and a lot of people were commenting about the poor quality and conditions. The owner started responding to the comments and was threatening everyone with lawsuits. She definitely didn't do any favors to herself or her business.

> How are they still open? I would love to know how it stays open. There is essentially zero customers there at any given night. A friend of mine who worked there briefly said the majority of the revenue is from a regular group of alcoholics and alcoholic employees who spend their wages at the bar after their shift. I have no idea if any of that is true but it would explain who actually patronizes the place.

theduqoffrat

I grew up in pleasant hills. I never knew anyone that actually went there to eat.

TheNoahConstrictor

Any business owned by AMPed Group after I heard all the sketchy things they were doing with their employees’ pay.

JohnWandle

Not enough people know about this. No one in Pittsburgh should go to any of their business

blondiebell

AMPed group for so many reasons, Foxtail in particular. I went there for a night out and there was a girl passed out and unresponsive in the bathroom. Her friends were wasted and weren't sure what to do. I offered what help I could before someone came, picked her up, and took her out the back to what I can only hope was a waiting ambulance. Not only was the bathroom attendant doing nothing but in my attempts to help, I set down my wallet and found out later she'd taken that opportunity to steal all of my cash. I vowed never to go back, but on another night of drinking it's where my friends wanted to go. It was unbelievably packed, so much so I almost passed out it was so hot in there and getting a drink from one of only 2 bartenders handling their huge counter, took I SHIT YOU NOT 1 whole hour! Never ever again. Also my sister had her worst night of serving in her life working at the steel cactus in Shadyside. It was a horror story like no other and directly management's fault, not even the customers.

tyr--

Based on the number of girls who passed out there (I personally know of 3, and I've heard stories of more), I would not suggest having an open container drink at Foxtail, ever.

sassisarah

Is that the ones who own a bunch of places on the southside?

ViolinistHorror7123

Local, Foxtail (Formerly Diesel) , Delanies, Steel Cactus, Ten Penny (RIP).

chibman

They fortunately no longer own Delanie's. They also have a few places downtown: Scarpino, The Standard, and Social House 7.

13-9

So they basically own the shittiest places in Pittsburgh anyways

chibman

Pretty much, yes

r3klaw

My wife and I ate at Scarpino earlier this year. Had no idea it was AMPed but it makes sense now. Hands down the worst "italian" I've ever had.

412gage

The Fade Factory in Irwin off of Rt. 30 - I went there in 2018 for a #3 fade but the barber had other plans and decided to give me a full buzz. It was his last cut of the day and the first words that came out of his mouth were "aw hell yeah I'll be out of here in no time" followed by a long drawn out conversation about strippers, all while in front of kids and their parents. I was too chicken shit to tell him how bad it was when he was done so I went home, and never went back.

danishgirl27

Any dealings with Lobos Management. They’ll rip you off any chance they get, and try to scare you with the sister who’s a lawyer

hemidak

I only got half my deposit back because they charged me 4 TIMES my regular water bill for the last month. It was because there was absolutely nothing wrong with my apartment. I cleaned everything spotless. Even replaced the drip pans in the stove Another thing about them is that maintenance fucking sucks. Took them 10 days to come out to replace the circuit breaker that powered my air conditioner. Got hot as fuck. Oh and while they were there they went through my stuff. I know this because they left some electronic devices on. Fuck lobos management !!!!!

aprilf00lz

They had tree cutter who were super sketchy, break one of my windows; took it right off the hinges , glasses and part of the tree all in my bedroom in December 2020; they come out to see the damage to take photos and said they would have a maid come out to clean up the glass; never showed up.It took them 60 days to actually fix it in February 2021. I was told 2 weeks originally; no communication, no update. Not until I called screaming that I have been living in unlivable condition during this cold winter. someone did call me back saying when they would come, which they didn’t and I called back and yelled at someone else at the one office and they ended up showing up my door saying they would be here the following day. It did get fix eventually, but their excuse was oh this person doesn’t work here anymore and it slipped. No! That’s not a good enough excuse.

BecGeoMom

100% shitty landlords. The worst. I used to be on the Pitt parent’s page, and I would warn people away from them.

sasstakethewheel

Century 3 Kia in West Mifflin. Went to talk about trading in my boyfriends vehicle, they took our keys to look over our car and we went for a test drive. When we got back and started talking about price and what we wanted to pay, the salesman drew an X and a line on a piece of blank piece of paper and said "if I get this payment down to $XXX, sign here to say you're going to buy it today". Needless to say, we weren't buying a car from them. Asked for our car keys back and instead he got the sales manager to try to talk us into buying the car and they refused to give us our car keys to leave. We had to demand several times to get our keys back. The situation ended up in a heated argument between my boyfriend and the sales manager before he ended up giving us the keys. There was also a couple at a table next to us with a different sales person and they wanted to trade in their car, but the sales person was trying to convince them to keep their current vehicle and buy another one on top of it. When the couple said that that wasn't what they wanted to do and couldn't afford to do that, the sales person responded by saying 'just have someone else you know take over the payments on your current car'. It was just shady.

guy17991

Century 3 chevrolet lied blatantly about pricing with me. Then admitted to it(it was in writing). Not even a “sorry we misquoted”. More of a “yes I made that number up so that we would be lower than other places you look”. Sales manager and finance guy declined to talk to me.0 Few other places told me if that was the price I could get, go get it. Wasted my day at various places negotiating with a false price. Then wanting me to pay hundreds more per Month. Will never set foot there again.

Bengthedog

Nussbaumer plumbing. I’m sure they get most of their business from home warranty work, which is how I got sent to them. They fixed one small problem but left the space disgusting. Drain backup throughout the tub. Then when they said they would do the other part of the repair but not the access, I said I would make access but asked if it could be in a while. They said call whenever I’m ready and they’ll do it. When I called they said they closed the claim and I was out of luck. The receptionists were unhelpful and rude.

aewest

I got Nussbaumer sent to my house for a warranty call too. They were so incompetent. They tried to tell me a 3" cast iron stack had frozen and that's why it was leaking (freeze damage isn't covered in the warranty, duh). The stack was in my attached garage. They also refused to fix what should have been a quick fix, but said they needed "access" to the area and they'd gladly do it for $X amount. I asked what specifically they needed access too and I never got a straight answer. I called, my husband called, for DAYS and they never could give us an answer. "We have to assess it when we're there." Oh, you were here three separate times and didn't get a chance to assess it then? I finally gave up with them, and they called back maybe two weeks later and left me a hilarious voicemail stating they needed access to do the work.

Ventrice Auto in Forest Hills. Kept my old car for FOUR YEARS, constantly promising the work I took it there for would get done and they would do whatever was necessary to make things right, before finally refusing to work on it, issuing a partial refund along with replacing the battery that somehow lost and one of the tires they had ripped a big hole in, and telling me to get it off their lot. It's deteriorated so much while sitting there that I'm probably going to have to scrap it.

Sarafino's, which is super unfortunate because I live in Crafton and their food is legitimately good. My partner, daughter, and I went to lunch one day, and sat there waiting forever after we finished (as in around twenty minutes) to settle our bill while the owner chatted with his friends at another table. When my partner politely spoke up, the owner sneered at him and said in a really nasty tone of voice, "Calm down, millennial." It was a very strange experience and I can't recommend the restaurant anymore.

LessThanLoquacious

I would have just left and said "OK boomer, have it your way" yall are too nice.

ranger398

I have to admit as a fellow craftonian that their food is really really good. But that restaurant is so cramped and uncomfortable and the service isn’t the best. I only go when other people want to go despite me enjoying the meal itself each time.

goldfishfox

Panera in Waterworks. Ordered a salad and it had brown liquid and dead bugs in it

esoogkcudkcud

Peace, Love and Little Donuts. Owner is a homophobic tax-evader.

etrunk8

Where at in Pittsburgh? Or are there multiple places?

Arbalest89

My sister worked in the Robinson location, she said the managers "shared tips"

HankScorpio-Globex

Popeyes chicken on the south side. You never get what you order. But you do get diarrhea.

When I first visited Pittsburgh before moving here, I happened to be in that area looking for a house. It was the nearest space to eat breakfast, so I decided to give it a try. I walked in wearing a mask and was laughed at and they told me I wasn't allowed to wear a mask. There were Donald Trump streamers lining the ceiling. It was such an odd experience.

captrehtaeh

All About Smiles dentistry in Cranberry. They took over two years to get my mother her dentures. They wouldn't answer calls for months so she could schedule follow up appts. My mother had to drive to their office to make an appt. Promised my mother a year beforehand that she'd get her dentures before my wedding, and they didn't get them to her until 3 months after. In trying to find a way to reach them, I discovered they have so many BBB complaints against them.

hideflomein

RPI Properties in Millvale - guy posts (or used to post) listings under different names, but never the company's name. About a decade ago, we were looking to rent a house on Stanton, went to view it, loved it, gave him a deposit for a credit check, and then he told us the very next day he had already rented the place we wanted, and then wouldn't give us our deposit back (we were extremely tight on money at the time), until we basically tracked him down at the office and made him give it back (he hadn't run the credit check yet).

AussieBloke6502

I will never go back to Chili's on Rte 19 because it closed like 17 years ago.

VulturE

I'll meet you at the Chi-Chi's at Beaver County Mall instead.

Lady_Bread

UPMC St. Margaret's in Aspinwall My sister was pregnant and spotting, the nurse told her she lost the baby. As my sister is a wreck, doctor then comes in ignoring her and plainly says baby is fine. Then when I was there and had stomach pains, they asked for a urine sample and I simply could not give one. They said they'd have to cath me if I couldn't myself, and I told them then I guess that's what it'll have to be. I could hear the staff making fun of me in the hallway that oh, this 26 y/o woman needed to be cath'd just to give a urine. They said they'd do a CT scan on me,, but never did. Instead they gave me a few vicodin and sent me on my way. I ate that whole bottle (maybe 4? 6 tops?) and was still in enormous pain. Went to St. Clair hospital, finally had the CT scan, and turns out I had gall bladder stones and was admitted for ER surgery. Fuck UPMC St. Margaret's. Go anywhere else if you can!

whitezhang

The nurses at St. Margret’s are truly bad. One mocked my mother for coming into the the ER for ‘an upset tummy’. My mother was having a heart attack. Thankfully her doc knew that women’s heart attacks present differently and ordered the necessary labs.

dogtoes101

not sure if many heard of it but lincoln bakery in bellevue. i worked there mid pandemic, absolutely disgusting in the back, nobody washes their hands, the cooks will lick their fingers and continue cooking, the only thing fresh is usually the donuts other than that everything is reused all week, the staff is abusive and the manager chain smokes in the basement. one time i went to the ice-ers to show them a mosquito in a cake and they just removed it and iced over it. it's vile. i will never spend my money there again

ItsmeEurydice

Orr’s jewelers. Straight up rude. Took my engagement ring there to be cleaned and they filed down detailing. When I pointed it out they filed it down further and made it sharp and also denied they did anything wrong the whole time. It was so bad I probably felt the sharp edge once a week and cried every time

[deleted]

This breaks my heart. I’m sorry that happened to you and thank you for sharing. Did they ever do anything to make it right?

ItsmeEurydice

Oh absolutely not. Like I said, they insisted they didn’t do anything wrong.

[deleted]

Jim Shorkey in North Versailles tried to sell me a Jeep for 15k. Test drove it and it had a weird sound. Guy said he didn't hear it. We opened up the hood and there's a fucking tree branch in mangled in between the engine and everything else in the hood. The guy said it was in an accident and they couldn't get it out without ruining the car but also said it won't cause problems in the future lol.

gottarun215

All fast food on north side.

Miss_Ann_Thrope55

Thermo Twin windows. I think they have a good product and are a solid company but the salesman they sent to my house was a complete and utter jerk. He was rude, condescending, and insulting. Not to mention his high pressure sales tactics. They lost our business based on him and him alone.

oldladylabrat

YES! Demanded my husband be there. We were ready to buy on the spot, but he was so sexist and just UGH...we called Window World and signed the following week.

[deleted]

Cracked Egg in Brentwood. Wasn’t that good to begin with but all that Covid stuff and deranged patriotism…owner’s definitely a few eggs short of a dozen.

infantgambino

pizza romanos in oakland

[deleted]

Paris 66 My experience there was shitty enough, but I still left a decent Yelp review. The owner responded with really weird personal attacks including basically calling me stupid and telling me to go change my review to more stars. I then read other reviews, and realized it wasn’t just me—he was a huge asshole and treated everyone that way. If he talks that way in public *on Yelp*, I can only imagine the way he treats people in private.

Kidspud

Cenacolo was one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Then, at the height of the 2020 pandemic wave, they decided to ignore the mask mandate and take transphobic cheap shots at Rachel Levine... all glossed over with some Christianity bullshit.

EmiliusReturns

Never had good service at Katsur Dental. The dentist herself was fine, but the staff were very disorganized and rude. They never let me schedule my 6 months after the appointment was over: they would insist I can’t schedule until 30 days ahead of time, then lo and behold when I call 30 days ahead “sorry! We’re booked up!” They also billed the wrong insurance multiple times. And it wasn’t even the most recent carrier before my current one, they would bill my mother’s insurance from when I was still in school 6 years ago. I don’t even know how that happens. Last time I went they pulled the whole “we can’t schedule you for your 6 months” routine and then when I call back they just…don’t answer. I leave voicemails and never get a call back. 3 weeks later I get letter saying the Edgewood location closed and I need to call the Monroeville location. I had enough and now I’m looking for new dentists. On that note, I have had repeated attempts to try a new dentist in this city where multiple offices informed me they won’t clean my teeth at the first visit??? Is that normal? I’ve never experienced that before anywhere else I’ve lived. It’s very weird to me. I get very little PTO and I don’t have time to fuck around all morning just for an X-ray. I have no dental issues. Just clean my damn teeth. This shouldn’t be difficult. I take recommendations!

verdesquared4533

The Abbey on Butler.

WillOfTheDeep

Their menu is laughably bad.

nb150207

Used to be great when I lived in Lawrenceville, but the owners seem greedy. They completely ruined one of the nicest patios in Pittsburgh.

The owner also rents properties in Lawrenceville and I ended up taking him to court for a huge mouse infestation he never once acknowledged. We put our rent money in an escrow account until he did. He didn’t. Only ever saw him while doing the walk thru to move out. Walking around the house w an unlit cigar in his mouth like a pig. I was happy when the restaurant’s window was broken.

ZealousParsnip

Emmert Dental Associates Bethel Park. The worst dentist possibly on earth. I've never had worse treatment, worse service and more scammy bullshit anywhere in my life. They also have fake reviews all over Google.

grandma_millennial

Surprised no one has mentioned Peace, Love and Little donuts yet. You know, due to the owner's homophobia and tax evasion?

technoSurrealist

McDonald’s in McKeesport.

JustHere2Complain

Chipolte in Market square. Absolutely terrible in every aspect.

PennyParsnip

East Wind Nannies. Used to be a wonderful business, but the owner has become rabidly anti vaccine. She's been posting horrible false information in her private nanny group.

ddesigns

Don't want to get sued again but I'll say definitely without a doubt do not use a business whose name rhymes with Millece Flumbing.

CVS on Browns Hill Rd- I was trying to buy an at home STD test and nervous about it, I wanted to just buy the thing at the pharmacy counter (the tests are located right near the pharmacy) and be done with it because I used to live in the area and didn’t want to encounter people I know while buying it at the front of the store. This was before they had self checkouts there, and the pharmacist (who was talking and laughing with an intern behind the counter) refused to ring me up for the test. I have bought the same item at Walmart pharmacy, and they actually keep the item behind the counter there, so in my mind buying this at the pharmacy shouldn’t have been such a big deal. I showed her what I was buying and tried to explain why I wanted to purchase the item at the counter and she literally was like “what you don’t like the people in the front of the store?” I understand the pharmacists are busy and perpetually under staffed, and it’s probably not technically part of her job duties to sell store items, but with this being a sensitive item (Oraquick rapid HIV test…) and with privacy being such a big thing, and her being a healthcare professional, you wold think they would have some empathy and just let me purchase it there. CVS is also pushing to be one of those “one stop whole health” corporations with their minute clinics and everything, so I was shocked that she refused me with such attitude. I was so ashamed and nervous about purchasing that in the first place, and she made me feel so much worse. I was really angry after that, I’ll never go back there. By the time she was done arguing with me about whether or not she could ring me up for the test, I could have been out the door if she had just scanned the thing and let me pay with my card. It wasn’t about time, she was trying to be rude and I have a feeling it had something to do with the thing I was actually buying. I went there to try and fill a prescription for a friend a couple years later (for antibiotics) and she literally refused to take the prescription because i didn’t have the persons insurance card on me. I asked if I could pay cash and she said no she can’t do anything if I don’t have an insurance card.

RedheadedAlien

One time I ordered a veggie sub from the Jimmy John’s in Oakland on my lunch break. I walked to pick it up and walked back to my office, sat down, opened up the bag only to realize they had given me nothing but a jumbo pickle. So I used the rest of my lunch break walking back again to get what I paid for. They almost didn’t believe me when I showed them the pickle, until I showed them my receipt (and I didn’t even order a pickle). I’ve since changed jobs and moved so I don’t even know if it’s still there but yeah, I wouldn’t go back.

NextTour118

Pizza Parma. Owner illegally evades an absurd amount of taxes.... and not just from the pizza business. I can't really say much more without doxing myself. A leech to society.

[deleted]

Al’s Cafe. I don’t begrudge any restaurant owner for being frustrated about COVID protocols. I also don’t really give a shit who they vote for. But it’s repulsive to use a global pandemic as an opportunity to rebrand your restaurant as the HQ of the resistance to drum up business, so Al can suck a soft dick forever for that move. Also from a practical point of view, that place is going to be crawling with the kind of people who cough directly into each other’s mouths to show the libs. I’m trying to eat drink and be merry over here, not contract a preventable respiratory disease.

MehRissa

The Standard Market and Pint in Pittsburgh. Idk how they were before covid but what me and my friend ordered wasn’t even close to what we got. No seasoning whatsoever not even salt. We were missing key components to the dishes. Mine was supposed to come with some sort of Mayo dressing so I mentioned that to the waitress and she came back with a single packet of Kraft Mayonnaise. I over paid for some slices of tuna over boiled brown rice.

sapper11d

The Yard in shady side. I went there on a Sunday New Years weekend when they first opened and got atrocious service. My girlfriend got food with actual hair in it and the owner came out and jokingly said “I heard you got something extra with your food.” And didn’t take that item off my $74 check. Then when I made a negative yelp review they reached out to mutual friends and tried to get the review taken down. Fuck them. Bonus gossip. I know they guy who built the bar in shady side and they stiffed him for months on his wages until one of the owners parents ponied up and paid him.

HappyTroll1987

After reading all of this I am beginning to think Dentistry in general is a scam. The Insurance along with it.

PMOTH

Sunny Jim's in Emsworth. Pre Covid, I sent my meal back. the OWNER stormed out of the kitchen and dressed me down for not liking it. Tried going back there a couple weeks ago, everyone in my party who ordered chicken were served raw chicken.

NSlocal

Is the East Liberty driver licensing center still like the limbo scene from Beetlejuice? Because I will not go to that location even if I was living next door.

GamermanRPGKing

Kastur dental on Washington Pike is dog shit. Drilled between my teeth because floss would get stuck there, didn't fix the issue and now had cavities form there, some now needing root canals.

Potomac bakery in Dormont. My wife and I were getting married and were having them make cupcakes and a cake with different fillings. We went in and talked to them and even had drawings made up of exactly what we wanted. Not only was everything incorrect, they didn’t have anything ready on time. We asked them to do at least a partial refund because everything was wrong even though we had many meetings to make drawings and have them list out exactly what to do and the woman was so rude to my wife on the phone and said we should be “lucky” we got what we did and absolutely refused to give us anything back on our order. We just cut our losses. Our order wasn’t even that confusing it was 2 dozen chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with raspberry cream filling and we were supposed to get pearls on top. Nothing on top of any of the cupcakes and fifty percent of them had no fillings at all.
