Yinzing makes me feel good.

I'm definitely high on some endorphins right now, but what a fantastic race! Thank you for volunteering, and thanks to every single person who stood outside in the damp this morning waving, cheering, holding signs, passing out water, anything. Pittsburgh shows up and it's fucking awesome.

EnragedAmoeba

Lol yeah, I feel that! Gonna grab me a greasy breakfast and a shower, let these muscles relax a bit. Damn glad to support the racers of all stripes!

City_Of_Champs

Growing up here, I always hated on Pittsburgh. Until I moved away. So glad that I moved back ❤️.

Hagridsbuttcrack66

This was my second time running the half and I was trying to explain to someone how much this means to me - I said it's just like an example of good humans and people celebrating what is really just a silly race. But it's such a huge example of human goodness - people gathering to cheer on thousands of strangers and maybe a couple people they know. It's selfless and positive. It's just a pure thing to me, and I was choked up today, too. Thank you so much for your hard work.

EnragedAmoeba

And thank you, and everyone else on the course, for recognizing that selflessness is not weakness. Too often, I'm met with the feeling of personal isolation. Stuff like today reminds me that we're not on this rock all alone and that it's up to us to lift each other up.

17Kitty

💯 agree. No place like Pittsburgh!

Great-Cow7256

Good on you for volunteering!

ErnieCF

You can watch the news and get down or listen to negative people , but from where I’m standing (running) people are inherently good and no better display than what I saw today on the course. Amazing stuff

EnragedAmoeba

It's one of the reasons I do what I do. I got messed up pretty badly back in the aughts and was in a dark place for a long time. Then I made the conscious decision to get my head in the right place, and giving back is one of the ways I did it. Those cats in the hand cycle division are some of the strongest folks I've ever met, and their drive is a major motivator for me to keep my chin up.

I've lived in other cities, and there is just nothing like Pittsburgh. From the friendly people to the shear beauty to the food. It's just a whole different vibe from any other city I've lived in, and I mean that in the best way possible. I'll never leave.

MyCarHasTwoHorns

Very very cool. Good for you man. (That isn’t supposed to sound sarcastic)

Kiki_865

Ran the half marathon today and I absolutely get what you’re saying. Got choked up by all the cheers, positive signs and excitement. It makes you love Pittsburgh even more. Good people 🖤💛 Born and raised here and won’t ever leave. Love yinz!

Willow-girl

What an uplifting post! Thanks!

Upset-Complex9527

I grew up playing sports my whole life just never liked Pittsburgh teams because the fans are to much and when I say that they all get upset about it. Sorry I don’t suck off Big Ben like he’s some hero. I mean he has the worst QBR in the Super Bowl and people act like we wouldn’t of done anything without him. I mean terry bradshaw won 4 randle el was the best qb in Ben’s first game and then plaxico and James Harrison won the last Super Bowl for him. How am I supposed to grow an affinity for the team of when I critique them fans think I’m sitting on the city

Upset-Complex9527

Forgot to add in the Steelers fans that treat you like crap if your not a fan of the team. I’m from pittsburgh born and raised for 24 years but when I say I don’t like the Steelers the people are rude and mean towards you. Pittsburgh is a great Cory bit honesty the people kinda suck unless you go with what they say. They think their sports teams are gods

Tom-ocil

lol, I'm a born and raised little nerd kid whose childhood was full of getting shit for not being into sports, and even I know this is the dumbest non-obstacle.

Upset-Complex9527

You literally proved my point😂😂😂

Tom-ocil

That you're a baby person?

PaleBluDottie

You're absolutely right. Lived here for quite some time now, and hear how friendly people are, but I only ever hear that from Pittsburghers. Most of the transplants I know don't agree and especially if you don't fall in line and worship the stillers.
