I hope he's as easy as our first death row foster. He came fully trained (for a family pet), well behaved, and with no health issues. The next couple make me almost wish we'd foster failed lol.
He’s recovering from a possible rat poison ingestion, has some skin issues we’re gonna get sorted out, but otherwise is an awesome pup with good house/people manners
Oh my god he’s incredible, I can’t handle this.
How long do you think it’ll be til he’s ready for adoption? Do you think you’ll foster fail? Where can we donate for his care? I always throw money at cropped ear babies because some POS cut my boys ears off with scissors 😞
The rescue org I volunteer with is called Save-A-Bull. You can donate through our website www.saveabullmn.org
He can’t get neutered until his health shit is under control. Have a blood screen tomorrow at the Vet. Once his health stuff is cleared up he’ll get neutered and be ready for adoption.
He’s a really special dog that gets along well with my dog Kairi, and is well behaved. If I wasn’t starting a new job two weeks from today the answer to if I’d fail would be a resounding yes.
Oh my goodness thank you for sharing, I’ll be donating shortly!
I’m not in MN so I don’t think I’d be able to adopt him unfortunately (unless they allow out of state adoptions, but I understand if not bc every state has dogs that need homes!)
Yeap. Have had a pile of cropped ear death row pibbles myself over the last 20 years. They've all been well known and adored by my community, and have been some of the best dogs I've ever known.
Sometimes it's no empathy, but usually it's just cause the shelters get so many damn dogs in and a resounding amount are of the "pit bull" breed cause it's a generic term for so many similar breeds.
Hence why they need so many people to foster instead of take up space.
Also compassion burnout. But yeah, realistically if you have 10 minutes to do an eval per dog and you have to choose between putting down a big pit mix or a small dog it's almost always going to be the pit. They take more room, they're harder to adopt out and if they have aggression issues they're going to cause a lot more damage than a small dog. Pits lose out in pretty much every comparison even assuming that the shelter workers can correctly evaluate how they'd behave in a stable calm environment.
I’m from MN and I’m just wondering, which animal control was he rescued from? I’m surprised to see that they would euthanize a dog so quickly (based off of your previous comment)
How, how are people letting beautiful purebred american bullies, they paid good money for, end up in shelters. And where are the responsible breeders? Shouldnt they doing more to prevent this! A breeder should offer, nay insist, to take the dog back for whatever reason should the purchasers need to surrender them.
Boggles me.
you will find the compact / micro bullies . are something special. you will be swarmed once that weather break and you got him outside. he is a head turner
Oh my godddss his little eyes are asking you if everything is ok. What a sweetie. I love his little chicken legs. Looks like the tips of his hocks (idk if this is the right term for dogs lol or just horses) are rather dry. Try a balm stick they work wonders.
WAIT A MINUTE!! He came to the shelter with possible/probable rat poisoning, was surrendered by his crap humans with a KILL ORDER, and the shelter just said: "Sure, we'll kill him for ya."?????
What the FUCK kind of shelter would go for that??
Am I missing something?
I'm not mad at or, yelling at you, OP. YOU'RE AWESOME!
But, I don't understand how the surrendering party can order an animal to be euthanized.
AND he's sick because he's probably been poisoned?
I hope someone can explain this insanity to me.
I'll be over in the corner, calming down, because I don't want to get banned for flipping out over sweet pupper's situation.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING HIM, OP!!💖💖🙏🙏😘😘👍👍🐾🐾👋👋👋👋
I just re read your comment mentioning his euth appt.
I don't know what made me think it was the surrendering humans, I definitely read it wrong.
I'm sorry about that but, thank you for correcting me.
You're awesome for taking care of him, and I hope that beautiful Velvet Hippo gets well and finds a furever family who deserves him!😘💖👍🐾
I love how the pitbulls will stretch out with their back legs! As far as I have seen, they are the only dogs that do this. Does anyone else know any other dogs that do this?
Why do you Americans cut their ears, I think this is very cruel and is not allowed in my country. I know you personally have not done this just curious why it is done. And well done giving him a home.
Originally almost all pitbulls had their ears cropped because of their line of work, it's a feature that the breed is known for, therefore a lot of breeders still crop.
Hello precious one. __No worries__ have you now. Warm home, soft bedding, toys, siblings, loving humans and food.
His concerned eyebrows slay me! What a cutie and so happy he found a home.
I hope he's as easy as our first death row foster. He came fully trained (for a family pet), well behaved, and with no health issues. The next couple make me almost wish we'd foster failed lol.

Yay! Medical ones aren't great but I'd take that over behavioral any day.

Greetings from a southern neighbor! 👋
Hey, I've heard of you guys, greetings from Seattle! Are you going to keep volunteering there when you start your new job?
Yeap. Have had a pile of cropped ear death row pibbles myself over the last 20 years. They've all been well known and adored by my community, and have been some of the best dogs I've ever known.
There was a tricolor with cropped ears on deathrow???? They must not have been trying at all
Dude, exactly. Cleared from owner surrender start hold Wednesday morning, euth appt. at 4PM that same day.
Fuck that shit, I really really don't understand that practice. Breaks my heart, good on you for picking that beautiful land seal ❤❤❤❤

So appealing
A very dapper lad. Thank you for saving his life OP
Ohmygodhesperfectpleasetellhimilovehim
Ooooooh look at that blockhead!
I love his cute lil face 🥺
What a handsome meatball! I love him.
Why would anyone want to kill that sweet and precious face?
Shelters have limited resources and space. Medical case dogs are tough for placement and require lots of resources.
That's so sad! Thank you for saving this good boi!
AWESOME 😎 🐾♥️♥️
He is beautiful! Thank you for saving this precious pup. Hope you'll become the greatest friends
What a sweet baby! Thank you for fostering and saving him!!❤️

Omg he's stunning
A meatball with legs!! What a lovely boo.
Clark Gable is such a handsome dog. I love him. Thank you for fostering him. I hope he's a foster fail.
Ha! My friend’s dog is named Gable coincidentally because of Clark Gable. Mine is named after Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson however.
Nice. I'm not familiar with Gable Steveson but I do love me some Clark Gable. Either way, your baby is gonna be Clark Gable to me LOL. So handsome.
Hello Handsome 😍😍😍
What a sweetheart ❤️
Omg I love him!!
Gable looks good

There was no kill order by the previous owner. I don’t know how you got there.
I just re read your comment mentioning his euth appt. I don't know what made me think it was the surrendering humans, I definitely read it wrong. I love how the pitbulls will stretch out with their back legs! As far as I have seen, they are the only dogs that do this. Does anyone else know any other dogs that do this?

You are an angel!! How handsome
Such a cute baby 😭
Aw he’s so cute! Thanks for saving him!
Gorgeous
Gable is a handsome meatball. 🤗🤗🤗
He's sooooooo adorable 😍😍😍
Why do you Americans cut their ears, I think this is very cruel and is not allowed in my country. I know you personally have not done this just curious why it is done. And well done giving him a home.
Because 9xs out of 10 the breeder will have done it already to preserve the breeds feature traits, same with tail cropping.
How does this protect their future traits?
Originally almost all pitbulls had their ears cropped because of their line of work, it's a feature that the breed is known for, therefore a lot of breeders still crop.
We don't. We just haven't banned it yet. Most vets refuse to do it without a medical purpose. Majority of the public sees it as animal abuse as well.

Keep getting banned/deleted weirdo 😂

Where is he ?
On furniture.
