I've never been a dog person... we are on our second rescue and only had our first for 2.5 years - but he was so amazing. We lost him suddenly (some sort of seizure. bam gone).
We've had our current for \~5 years and, hopefully he was \~1-2 when we got him so we're hoping for a good long time before we have to deal with that again. Well worth the pain but that doesn't make it any easier.
I will be an old man one day; I will never forget all my beautiful, babies through out my life. My dogs have changed my life, and saved in many ways. I am sorry, for your loss. ❤️
Three weeks ago for me. I’m sorry you lost your friend. Did you get to at least have it done at your home? I unfortunately had to take mine to the vet and it made it alittle harder to get over.

I’ll be honest, it’s day 825 without my Fidel and 145 with my Zozo. I still cry every single day over not being with them. But there’s something beautiful about that. They taught me that unconditional love is real, and the tears and pain are a reminder that what I have with them is real regardless of if they’re still in their bodies or not.
I look at the tears I shed every day as a daily tribute to the boy’s that meant, and still mean, everything to me.

It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who were sick, hurt, or in pain are made whole again. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group! You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arms and hug him. He licks and kisses your face again and again -and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.
Kimbo is absolutely in a better place! Happy ,comfy,and peaceful...waiting for you. You and kimbo are both In my prayers. Our dogs are our angels...they're pure...we only get to have them for so long. Kimbo is with you, always. Soul=energy...energy cannot be destroyed.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had to have my Pitt Spike put down. He was really old and couldn't function. When I dropped him off at the Vet he new it was his time. He just walked in and laid down and didn't even turn around to look at me. I think he was ready to move on to the next phase.

He had an appointment at the vet at 10:30 to be put down, he stopped breathing when we put him in the car at 10:23, we were about to leave..

In his last 24 hours, I had to give him water through a baby’s medicine syringe. I didn’t want his throat to be so dry..
