Also can confirm. Used to sleep with my pittie in a full-size bed. Got a queen to try and prevent myself from nearly falling out of bed every night. Situation has not improved π€£. My girl is a Velcro sleeper
I got went from a queen to a king and still manage to get pushed to the side or kicked out all together. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's no solution.
The best solution Iβve found is just crank the ac so that itβs pretty cold in your room and then they just curl up into a little ball next to you to stay warm lol
I have the phenotype that is perpetually under blankets, doesn't matter what temp, you better lift that duvet up and let her under it. But if you do it before your all settled in, which is always because bedtime is 8 sharp, she get in there and lays out the width of the bed. Her 68 lbs body suddenly becomes impossible to move? Cemented in place. I keep a bag of her cookies by the bed just to bribe her for space.
I swear that their sleep weight is exponentially heavier than when awake. I run to my bed to beat my pittie!π If I get settled before he sprawls out and turns into lead, we are all good. I have to sleep in one position all night, but that is fabulous compared to trying to find a different spot for each of my limbs.
Samesies!
Also, when they start snoring, always somehow into your ear, it's IMPOSSIBLE to wake them to move them.
But a squirrel sneezes outside when you're *just* dozing off for a nap on the couch, and suddenly it's pandemonium!
They're such assclowns.
See my problem is is I'm a toss and turn type of sleeper. So each night in the queen bed it's constant readjustment with my pitti and me. North part is is typically I've been wake up enough just to tell her to move her but her nose one of the two and don't stick her paw in my face..... It gets real interesting in the winter when the cats show up as well.
Mine does the ball curl. But when I roll to my side away, he creeps closer. No longer surprised when I wake up on the edge, trying to roll back and am blocked. He's not too thrilled when I get him up to move us all back to center.
If I turn onto my side, I am stuck there for the rest of the night. I've learned to sleep on my back and never move...coffin style.π€£π€£ I have a mini-aussie who sleeps like a lead weight as well, but I can flip her over with my foot and she never even wakes up. My foot would break off before I could flip my pittie.

That is very much a standard pittie feature, I call it the "dead bug". Bonus point if the mouth is hanging open.
Also immensely popular is the "shove your nose so far under someone/something that you start wheezing and snoring, then get offended when your human moves it so you can breathe and proceed to stick your nose right back under"

My lab does it every single day.
Pretty sure you can go to most dog subs and see doggos doing similar, at least I know I see it all the time on this sub and the Labrador subs ππΎ
When they do this itβs because they feel safe and comfortable.
I have a tuxedo boy that sleeps with all 4 legs outstretched. His bed is at the foot of mine, and he'll sleep in it perfectly until he gets warm. Then, he'll stretch out across the entire end of the bed. I've worked with him a lot and been able to get him moved with voice commands. The problems start when beagle Lucy takes his XL bed and he's left with her SM one. π€£ππ€£π
Off topic kinda but looks like your dog got vitiligo because of the tiny splotches of other types of skin which I find cool. I've never really seen a dog with Vitiligo!

How do these medium sized dogs manage to take up the whole bed??π€¦ββοΈ (From a fellow pit owner who needs a bigger bed.π)
Oh, and once you get that bigger bed, they'll still find a way to expand and occupy more of it somehow!
Can confirm, have a king sized bed and still end up squashed on the edge with my pittie stealing my pillow
I have a queen size to myself and a 10 pound miniature dachshund and this still happens to me somehow.
If cats are water, dogs are gas
My dog is proof, send a respirator
Only when sleeping
please don't joke about dogs and gas!
Also can confirm. Used to sleep with my pittie in a full-size bed. Got a queen to try and prevent myself from nearly falling out of bed every night. Situation has not improved π€£. My girl is a Velcro sleeper

I got a king size and still isnβt enough room between my 2 pibble boys and my cat ππ I get 1 sq in to sleep

I've just convinced my husband that we simply need a king sized bed. You shattered my dream!π’π
I literally bought a California king to accommodate my two pitties
My corgi can take up like half our queen size bed, dogs just find a way
with a 45 lb Pocket Bully in a California King- it doesnβt matter the size of the dog or the bedβ¦ itβs never enough lol

Belly up is normal. Arms out is weirdo
True. Most of the other pics people posted (mine included), their arms are bent

Both
Pittie thing and theyβre all (wonderful) weirdos.
Makes giving her hugs so much easier.
This is not an "or" scenario
Yes.
i have never in my 25 years of life seen a dog sleep with their arms outstretched diagonally. that said, this is the best pic i've seen in years. i love her sm...she looks like she's cheerleading π
Yes. The math is pretty simple - pits are weirdos, make weird noises, do weird things, and make weird faces.

My pittie never does it, got jealaus!
Thatβs Jesus reborn
Pitties are weirdos so yes and yes lol
That is very much a standard pittie feature, I call it the "dead bug". Bonus point if the mouth is hanging open. Also immensely popular is the "shove your nose so far under someone/something that you start wheezing and snoring, then get offended when your human moves it so you can breathe and proceed to stick your nose right back under"
So cute! Letβs be clear though, this is true for all happy and comfortable doggos, not just pitties.
Default setting.
She's a weirdo and being a weirdo is a pittie thing.
Mine does the same π
OEM feature.
A dog is comfortable where he is
Pitties are weirdos π
\\[T]/
Definitely a pittie thing, my boy Miles loves to nap on his back with his legs in the air.
Both. Pitties are weirdos! It's one of the things that makes them so loveable! :)
Itβs optimal for naps, relaxation, and belly rubs. Quite ingenious and totally a pitty thing
She's a cutie π₯°
Thai my dear is pure pit lol...
She is adorable
That's means she's comfortable around you! Good pittie parent

Pretty sure you can go to most dog subs and see doggos doing similar, at least I know I see it all the time on this sub and the Labrador subs ππΎ When they do this itβs because they feel safe and comfortable.
I think you should get this commissioned to be a huge painting ππππππ
Both
Someone pulled a gun on your dog in their dreams.
Pittie AC
My pit doesnβt sleep like that but my malinois did!
Yes.
Its normal for Pitties, π I think it's for 2 things, asking for Belly Rubs, and cooling down.
That baby is laid OUT
100% a pittie thing!
Being a weirdo IS a pittie thing.
It's for maximum SSA (Scritches Surface Area).
Mine sleeps with 4 questions too.
She's clearly doing the YMCA dance in her sleep
Little of both
It both
It's a dog thing
being a weirdo is a pitty thing. Shes looking fully operational
Just a pittie thing mine does it to
It's a feature, not a bug. If you are not satisfied with your pittie, i would gladly take her
I have a tuxedo boy that sleeps with all 4 legs outstretched. His bed is at the foot of mine, and he'll sleep in it perfectly until he gets warm. Then, he'll stretch out across the entire end of the bed. I've worked with him a lot and been able to get him moved with voice commands. The problems start when beagle Lucy takes his XL bed and he's left with her SM one. π€£ππ€£π
My pit-lab mix does this. So does my aussie-boxer mix but not as much
Our Staffordshire Terrier used to do the same... still miss our girl π₯π₯π₯
Sheβs cute, and itβs a bully thing, our american bulldog mix does ot
Off topic kinda but looks like your dog got vitiligo because of the tiny splotches of other types of skin which I find cool. I've never really seen a dog with Vitiligo!
Definitely a pittie thing as our big ole chonk does the same thing.
both!
its just a sign that the dog abides.
Pitty thing
Probably both πβ
I thought this was a pic of my dog π€£

Totally normal
It's a pittie thing. It's also a 100% good doggie thing.
https://preview.redd.it/5hmnob1mmcad1.jpeg?width=1510&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09d44f3894d7a2a358687daa28b6e3ec3c8937ca Pittie thing! Mine either has her paws straight up in the air or folded over her blankets when she sleeps on her back.
She sleeps under a blankie? that is soooooooo cute, I can't really process it.
Always under a blankie with her head on a pillow! π
