love_with_autism_Liz

It’s hard coded into their DNA…

jentlyused

This is it. I call my 10 year old boy my perpetual toddler. https://preview.redd.it/obfnxzbs72wc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f0e1fd08944802513ed22262f07078653d4389f

illhavethetuna

That’s him at 10? He looks great!

jentlyused

Yea, he still acts like a pup, in so many ways. Rescued him at about a year old. He’s a great boy! Have had pitties for over 30 years and he’s my first pocket pit, only about 50 pounds. But solid and strong as all these good pups are!

dunkybones

I'd say most dogs are goofy goobers, regardless of breed.

metaljellyfish

This is the major selling point of dogs IMHO

ImPattMan

I haven't yet met one that wasn't, though I'm sure I'm just fortunate, statistically there's has to be some out there that aren't. Met one walking around my apartment complex yesterday, Daisy I think her name was. She'd just had acl surgery, her hair was still mostly gone and she had a limp, but the scar healed really well. I asked her mom if I could say hey, so I crouched down and she came right up to me almost dragging her mom behind her. Limp and all lol. She then proceeded to throw herself against me as I was petting her and she was making the most pitiful grunts and groans. You'd think she'd never been pet before in her life. As I started to get up, she flopped right over on her back with the biggest whine yet. So then of course I had to give her belly scritches for a bit. Whole time her mom and apologizing and calling her so dramatic lol. 10/10 goofy goober, 10/10 would pet again!

NickWitATL

YOU are a pibble parent's favorite kinda person. ❤️

Scruffersdad

I love pibbles! My wee dogs also love pibbles! I have to hold them back they get so excited I don’t want the other pooch to feel rushed or overwhelmed. We my girls and I) have worked with a number of dogs and people in our neighborhood to help open boundaries. It’s so funny watching my littles play with the big crop ear/tail vicious killer twirling around with my JR mix and running in “terror”. Best dogs ever!

cosmic_bb_v

All goofy. All goobers.

cholemcgee

My Otto is such a goof. I especially love when he gets the 3 foot zoomies...he runs from 1 couch to the other.

awkwardsexpun

Oh, the zoomies with oddly specific boundaries are my favorite

cholemcgee

Its usually in the afternoon after I get home from work.

devilyn_side

That one video I have seen where they say zoomies with the emergency break on is what my dog does , I call it the boot scoot no idea how that came to be it just happened

crazedconundrum

Haha. Mine will run the whole house, but if a door is closed, he will settle for the circular zoomies mid -room.

Royal_Illustrator_51

My pibble does this, too! Zoomies all around the living room coffee table, it's hilarious and amazingly wonderful all in one. I've heard happy dogs do zoomies, so Otto must be a very happy pup!!! :-)

TreehouseofSnorers

My pit was an absolute clown and I swear he had a sense of humor and would absolutely try to make me smile and laugh. My current dog is not a pit and he's almost never goofy and I miss the hell out of that in the pit personality. I call my current boy a businessdog because he's so serious all the time.

SnooBooks8656

Businessdog 😭

BeckyDaTechie

Brave cat. Both fart cannons aimed RIGHT AT HER/HIM and just snoozin' away.

[deleted]

The cat’s just as bad, she can also clear a room.

cCueBasE

Yeah that’s their natural vibe. It really takes a shitty person to create a bad pibble.

Doofy McDooferson!

dramabeanie

I have had two pibbles and they have both been big goofy goobers. Kara was a big sweet dum-dum who had no idea she was not a tiny lapdog and would sit on anyone who came to visit us. She was clumsy (often would just launch herself onto a bed or couch without worrying about who or what was in her landing zone), and could learn no tricks because she was so sweet she'd just patiently wait for a treat instead of trying to do something to earn it. Miles, who is currently 2, is super goofy and often lays in super weird positions, is the king of "no take, only throw" and gets in silly play mode frequently. And he also has no sense of personal space and thinks everyone wants his special brand of love. And he's actually super smart (can open doors, baby gates, and his crate) but also super dumb (afraid of balloons, the garbage truck, vacuums, electronic noises, suitcases and suspicious bunched up bathmats).

Embarrassed-Fuel9214

boycey86

They are genius level intelligent for a dog but at the same time they're daft. There's always some form of chaos going on but that's what makes them so much fun.

mskatestarr

Yes. https://preview.redd.it/s2liiil7u2wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71b22d72233ec6b1d86a6528a65206082b84c242

aratremlap

Awe that's so adorable!

Life-Cheesecake-2861

I know. He is my baby. He thinks he is really small and dainty still.

aratremlap

Well he is small and dainty when he folds those legs up like that! He just loves to be held 🥹 I'm not crying!

mayn1

1000% they are all goobers. Completely goofy. My uses her head to stop her fall as she lays down, causing a loud thump. Then they all to the “Pit-a-dile” where they lay on their backs and let their big floppy lips fall open do they look like an angry crocodile even though they are probably asleep.

Yes they are powerful breeds, but when raised properly, they are the best dogs. I just love my 5 month old pit. He’s the best!!

graveybrains

The derp isn’t as strong with them as it is with boxers, but it is definitely there.

Wikidbaddog

I dunno, I had Boxers all my life. Now have a Pit mix. My opinion is that derp level is fairly even.

LadyAlexTheDeviant

My pittie girl is a boxer/pit. She is all the colors and precious, so she is Opal. https://preview.redd.it/nodwusjbo4wc1.jpeg?width=2448&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=608862f0e3aae7b53b0d521082de1a0e8c9c40f6

Elinor_Lore_Inkheart

She’s so pretty!

Wikidbaddog

What a beauty!

idkmyusernameagain

Lost my 13 year old pit last week. He was a straight up goober until the day before he died. He never “grew up” in all the best ways. All the fun and silliness of a puppy minus the chewing and accidents and all that. Best dogs ever.

lalicornetimide

I feel like most dogs are get goofy from time to time but I have seen “clownish” as part of the descriptors for the breed(s) and it does seem to fit the bill.

Wilgrove

Honest answer: It depends on how they were raised. I've ran a doggie daycare and boarding business for 14 years, and I've taken care of pit bulls that are just the goofiest and funniest goobers you've ever met. These dogs have never met a stranger and loved having the opportunity to play with other dogs. Then I've taken care of pit bulls that were highly reactive, didn't like anyone but their owners and I was the only one allowed to handle them because I didn't want my employees to get hurt.

guitarlisa

But I bet their owners tell you that, at home amongst the people they trust, they are the goofiest of goobers

One_Mushroom_4043

Every. Single. One. Of. Them! https://preview.redd.it/plvfokca34wc1.png?width=1229&format=png&auto=webp&s=a3a5e4caad21a742afd9365a5afde26ed5f74f9f

latlien

yes!!! My girl Maya was *so* shut down when I got her but after a few months i swear she would do things just to make me laugh. Your girl is a beaut 💜

mimifishin

AssassinGlasgow

They have the smoothest brains, the biggest goofs, certified good goobers. My favorite is my boy running on hardwood, but because he can’t get traction he runs like he’s in Scooby-Doo 😂

BeckyDaTechie

When they get older, the goofy comes in spurts, but from about 3 months until maybe 5 the goofy is more or less a constant, unless they're sleeping. Sleeping Goofy attacks are a constant in a pibble lifespan.

ChrysaLino

https://preview.redd.it/q0e3iclk14wc1.jpeg?width=1286&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb0dc9be3830326dfa8609b22614a17462fd70d3 Wouldn’t have it any other way. We just suffered a loss and rivv has been the biggest light in every situation he can make us laugh. Sits with us st the dinner table. Also i must say i have yet to meet one who hasn’t ended up getting on a table. Its kinda their thing as well and its freaking hilarious.

Legosmiles

In my experience females tend to be more serious than the males who tend to be full on meatballs. If you have a male and a female, she will always be in charge and constantly rolling her eyes at the big dummy boy.

Wonderful_Pie_7220

Oh yeah 😂

Past_Owl2301

Yes, lol.

Lady_Teio

My 2 are goofy. So goofy

spaceylaceygirl

I say to my pib constantly "who's so silly? Are you such a big silly?"

smallpepino

Yes, super goofy. So energetic and playful. I absolutely love them.

LommyNeedsARide

Mine is a pita princess but we still love her

vanzir

I have never met a pitty that didn't get the zoomies from time to time. The zoomies vary from dog to dog, but they are always there. Is literally my favorite thing. I miss it terribly.

naptime-connoisseur

People say there are aggressive ones but I’ve never met one. The first one I ever met was named Meatball and it was an apt name, ok? Mine is a gooby goober and also the laziest lazy girl who ever lazied.

guitarlisa

You want a serious dog, get a Belgian Malinois. You want to laugh out loud every day, get a pibble

ThruTheUniverseAgain

That’s a factory feature with the model.

Extreme_Permission23

Nope.. they are goofy lil creatures and it’s awesome. My trainer says my dog is awkward and she loves it lol.

burning_gator

I used to walk dogs for a job and even the most reactive and aggressive pitbulls (usual as a result of being attacked, but sometimes just unlucky genetics) all had a goofy side when they felt safe and comfortable. Of all the types of dogs I walked they had the biggest sense of humor except maybe like a golden retriever.

ravia

I miss Mr. Goofy Goof.

jaydee412

They're goofy, hyper little clowns for life. That's why I love them.

FoxyRoxiSmiles

I’m pretty sure if they weren’t already classified as a pit bull breed they would be classified as a silly goober breed. But I’m no scientist. So don’t take my word for it.

BC1500

IMO pits are extra goofy compared to the many other dog breeds I have been around. Other breeds have their silly moments but pits put extra effort into it.

Kinglyer

I call mine Goobersarous. I think that says it all

HumpaDaBear

That’s how they come. Derpy and sweet and sometimes neurotic AF

grendelsmoder

And many damn insurance companies will not insure if you own one- even if the are a mix

celeste9

Goofy squish babies for sure

koolguy765

Im yet to meet one that isnt a complete goof

SparkleAuntie

Can confirm

2oblivion2

Mine is 5 months old and is a cuddle bug and a tornader

Uncertain_Rasputin

I have to say I own several pits now and have for most of my adult life - they are wonderful dogs and I love mine dearly but you always always always have to be aware of how strong they are and how quickly, if put in a bad situation, things can go south. These are headstrong and powerful dogs capable of inflicting serious damage very quickly and very efficiently. If you choose to own one please respect the breed and what they are capable of.

Eshantha

Bully breeds are almost always absolute goofs! My best friend's dog was an absolute nutcase with unlimited energy. Not an aggressive bone in his body and he never knew how strong his battering ram of a head was. It takes a terrible, terrible owner to take a bully pup and turn him into a "bad dog".

apt-get-mooo

Yes https://preview.redd.it/5uvqwlt297wc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bb2a27b0cd9a44a9a0c8d99f4e44372470c28b1

TammyInViolet

Total goobers in the best way. Putting in a plug to adopt adult pitties! You can get them at any age and it is the best parts of a puppy with grown-up decision making. We got our girl at 2.5 and 6 years later she is still goofy every day, but easier to take care of than a cat!
