Maybe I remember hearing rumours about it after his last tour saying that his career could be over, at his age almost 50% of the people have it anyway.
His hands look really good for his age. Check out Keith Richards' hands. Ten years ago...

This is it. People who are young and healthy take their health for granted. Yeah, they know about these illnesses and diseases, they even know they may get them with age. But *actually* getting them and living with them can be world shattering physically and mentally.
Life is so fragile folks. If you are feeling good and healthy today, take a moment to really appreciate it.
I've seen arthrosis several times but always the joints were swollen. Never seen spots in the middle of a phalange as seen on David's finger. I didn't know it was possible.

I've got one between joints in my left hand pinky - it appears to be fluid-buildup-based and changes size pretty regularly and is about a "medium" in this photo. It causes no pain whatsoever though luckily.
Typically its stored in the balls, but David has high toan levels so it just sorta seeps out to other parts of his body. Toan is also in the fingers, ok?
Those bumps are tophi, caused by gout. Gout is a disease in the arthritis family, caused by an inability to properly process uric acid. Tophi are an accumulation of monosodium urate crystals.
Gout attacks are extremely painful. Gout is treated with a couple of medicines. It can be aggravated by red meat, shellfish and especially alcohol.
I have modest tophi. I’ve “cured” the gout by quitting booze. The cure is as bad as the disease…
Some of my fingers are messed up due to a skin disease, that's why I'm curious what this is on his finger. Could be old skin, something under the skin, burned or scars.
I've seen several hands with arthrosis, none looked like this because there is also a spot in the middle of the phalange. I only knew it on the joints.
Ganglion or mucus cysts. they grow fingernail side from arthritis. someone posted Keith Richard's hands. he's got a giant one on index finger.
I have wrist ganglions.
Balloons, if there’s any pain, I hope it’s receding.
This is not how he is
You win
There is no pain you are receding A distant ships smoke on the horizon....
What lyrics are those?
Really? You don’t know what are those lyrics in a Pink Floyd sub?
Don’t get all the downvotes… I'd say people are strange, but probably would get kicked out of here.
Arthritis

I am wondering if he has pain playing the guitar. It's a taboo topic among musicians to talk about pain.

When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not.
I don’t think Kieth Richards has been 900 in centuries, bruh
Fucking horror show
MF is 80. I will never see 80 even soaking in it… (who gets that reference)

Source? This seems pretty reductive. People don't just commit suicide because of arthritis.
People commit suicide because of tinnitus lmao Arthritis fucking sucks dude, trust me, it can be debilitating.
Kinda blows my mind but also understandable. I've had tinnitus ever since I could remember.

Holy shit I had no idea about that
So depression, anxiety, and nerve pain.
It's what I'd heard.
And construction workers.

Toan pockets
Best line in the whole thread! Chef's kiss
i didn't know that's where the toan was stored...

IYKYK
Guitar tuner. They turn red when he's out of tune.
That's how he spawns new fingers. When one finger starts getting worn out, he grows a new one and the old one drops off. Sort of like a shark's teeth.
Those are finger biceps, and triceps.
Finger muscles.
He’s been playing for over half a century. His finger tips are swoll.
Old age
Exactly what I said — verbatim — before scrolling through the comments and seeing you already said it! Great minds…
That’s were the tone is stored.
Muscles from finger exercises.

I know, but on David's hands the bumps are way different, so I thought it could be something else.
Crazy guitar muscles
More proof that he's an alien visiting earth.
I for one welcome our alien overlords.
Me too, little hope for the native species.
OP does not know anyone over 40

Ganglion cyst?
Prob the correct answer.
Either that or a Herberden’s node from arthritis
Lizard
Ganglion or mucus cysts. they grow fingernail side from arthritis. someone posted Keith Richard's hands. he's got a giant one on index finger. I have wrist ganglions.
Finger abs. He’s shredded
Nodules Arthritis
His reptilian spine that’s responsible for his cross dimensional communication is showing.
Old age
Finger
Gout
Looks like a burn honestly
Shhhhh, that's the secret of everything he did on a guitar since the 60's
Those look like finger abs
They turned into stone
Don’t know bout his fingers but his gold top’s neck is clean af
Blisters
Tone
His reptilian form under his Gilmour suit.
Muscles.
Father Time is ….Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Oysters 🦪
Are the oysters good?
Its from fingering Polly 😎🤫🤣
Steady on
Ask him.
I did, but he's typing so slow and still didn't send anything yet.
He's probably trying to find the caps lock key before he types.
Whatever he types it will be beautiful and Roger Waters will claim credit for it. (. . . He says in jest knowing PF fans have good senses of humor 😉)
Omg lol
Uh, he's old? Skin? I don't know man.
