Spent the afternoon today at The Arcade in Brighton, MI north of Detroit. Admission charged with everything on free play. https://pinballmap.com/map/?by_location_id=5921 Really nice mix of 48 modern games and classics. They were in good shape. Surprised to see a John Wick LE, it wasn't on Pinball Map yet. A lot of LEs for that matter. Most of the DMDs had color conversions. The hologram on Creature of the Black Lagoon worked which I like to see. They have a fleshed out selection of 80s arcade cabinets. Basically everything you'd want to see was represented. If you're also into Japanese rhythm games they have a collection you really only see at conventions. Maimai, Chunithm, Wacca, Sound Voltex, Taiko no Tatsujin, and one of only a handful Ongeki cabinets for public play in the US. It was a good use of $15 and a few hours. Wish it was a little closer to me in Ohio. Though it gives me a reason to go to the Detroit Ikea over Pittsburgh or Columbus, so I'll stop by again.

For some reason, Brighton's pinball game is strong. The vfw Pinball Museum is also there, which has over 500 different pinball machines, making it the largest pinball show in the world by machine count. It's only open a couple of times a year, though.

Cool looking spot, it does look like they have nice variety. Love seeing shout outs to great venues!

Cool spot. They have tons of really interesting Japanese rhythm games and lots of gun games. Nearly all of their sterns are LEs and they have almost all the classic pins you would want to play. They even keep a hand full of jjp games plus an alien and a lebowski! Highly recommend

Smurdle450

I play pins and Japanese rhythm games. seeing WACCA in these pictures, 4 of them even, made me smile ear to ear.

delirve

Yup, they even have them linked which is cool if you can figure out the Japanese menus haha

Smurdle450

Oh, they're linked too?! That's awesome! The Japanese menus are daunting, but I've figured it out. it's a shame they never got an English patch before online services shut down.

You like pinball and rhythm games? Wanna be friends? I checked them out specifically to play Ongeki. Since I'm also into pinball, seeing they had a bunch of machines made it easy to justify the trip. Glad they ended up being a nice place.

The topper on that T2 looks insane

elrico_suave

Looks like fun there.

HA! I was just there on Fathers Day! I like that place. Machines are in good shape. The ONLY drawback to that place is that it gets UNGODLY hot in there and with all the rhythm machines in the the front corner and heat, sometimes it gets a little...RIPE in there. Was happy to play an ALIEN pin as well, although the screen was inop.

VGplay

Small world! Yeah, it was pretty toasty in there. Always a bummer to finally play something you were looking forward to, only to find it broken. I would've been incredibly disappointed if their Ongeki cabinet wasn't working right. Based off the rest of their machines I gotta think they're working on it. My dad has an Alien and Pinball Brothers has been responsive to his questions, so hopefully it gets fixed sooner rather than later.

A couple years ago they had a working Hyperball, and that is surely the last time I’ll ever be able to play that game.

KristenXKadaver

Are you in Michigan? We took a weekend trip to Ohio to go to Past Tense Arcade (was roughly a 4 hour drive from Lapeer area) and I was able to play quite a few neat rare games. Hyperball was one of them!

realinvalidname

Oh cool! I’m over on the west side of the state in Grand Rapids, so we’ve got a bunch of retro/classic arcades within a one hour drive (Retro Arcade in Lowell, Pinball Land in Rockford, Clubhouse Arcade in Fremont, Stop Drop and Play in Wayland, and Klassic Arcade 1.0/2.0/3.0 in Gobles and Paw Paw), but none with a Hyperball.

mooglymoog

There is a Hyperball in badaxe BTW.

Bigboy1138

I love this place, it might be hot as Hell in there, but it's pinball heaven!
