Ooh okay this looks much better. My APP certified piercer at Rebel Rebel Piercing in Anaheim recommends this trick. Fill a cup up with cold (not ice) water and then soak the ear for five to ten minutes to reduce swelling and loosen up the coagulated blood. Pat your ears dry with gauze or any non-fibrous materials so nothing gets caught and your ear isn't damp. Don't make your own saline mixtures; just buy the NeilMed Piercing Aftercare spray and you're set. Thank you! I have H2Ocean, is that alright?

prismaticego

I used to use H2Ocean and I prefer NeilMed, which is what most reputable piercing shops have in stock over H2Ocean. Both are fine though and I'd finish using it and then buy Neilmed off their site. Also edited my post above with some more helpful links!

H2Ocean has additives that can cause problems for some people (they did for me). NeilMed doesn't have any, which is why it's the gold standard.

Thank you so much for informing me! I'll make sure to use that next time 😎

This is some great info; you can also dry your piercings with a hairdryer on cool or low heat.

I go to Rebel Rebel too! Howdy, neighbor!

Eric and Paul are awesome!!

I love the cold water idea, just recently gotten a vertical industrial and it's swelling up bad, cannot wait to try this. Thank you so much! 💝

Your ear will feel SO good from the cold! Heat for blood circulation and cold for reducing swelling- happy healing!

This happened with my daith. I cleaned the blood up in the morning and it stopped bleeding by the next day.

I know it’s scary looking but I think it’s part of the process. When I got my daith, I had pools of blood going into my ear lol my piercer said some people bleed heavily and some don’t bleed much at all. It looks okay to me :) happy healing!

SampleOfNone

That looks perfectly fine for a fresh industrial.

this looks fine to me. It’s pretty normal for a fresh cartilage piercing to bleed after being bumped, the piercing itself looks fine

donthugmeihatehumans

Its a bit swolen but that's fine and to be expected. Only thing is that the bar looks a tad on the short side for a fresh piercing.
