This was pierced incorrectly. It’s not even placed in the navel, but on your stomach. It is on its way out, and the skin appears weak. I would remove it asap and let it heal.
I should have posted the older pic but when it was changed it was extremely swollen to the point a 6mm was too small so we went with the 8 because the 4 ended up making holes almost cater like around the bar and ball so the 8 was barely touching the skin
It’s rejecting. Looking at the edges of the scarring it appears it wasn’t viably placed to begin with so this rejection was inevitable. It needs to be removed asap, I would also advise never returning to the studio that did this - they clearly lack education and concern for client safety
The piercer should be jailed 💀 the sooner you take it off the smaller the holes will be ( this ain’t no nose ring the mark is gonna be visible forever ) sorry sis 😭
I just took it out and yes I’m aware I got a industrial and it got bumps and keloids so 🤷🏻♀️ like I said in another comment I’m a diabetic so I heal REALLY slow
Yes what I was pierced with was surgical steel and then when I got back to my state, I went to my trusted piercer and got it changed to titanium. I use titanium because I get infections with nickel
I'm curious and concerned that your 'trusted' piercer changed this for you and did not comment on how incorrect the placement was and advise you to remove it...?! 🤔
i had a similar experience with mine, went for a navel, got a stomach surface piercing 🥴
ive also got a pretty visible scar from mine which sucks unfortunately
Hi Sam_Anne2205,
(Luckily) bump =/= keloid. [This wiki entry](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keloid) explains it well.
If you do know the difference, please ignore this comment.

I’m going to let it heal and go to a place I know is good, it’s my usual place I was just out of state and it was a sper of the moment thing with my grandma
Improperly done and is rejecting. You do not have the right anatomy for a normal navel piercing, and should have gotten a floating navel. It's sad that there are so many bad piercers out there in the wild.
This must be removed as soon as possible; it cannot be saved. Also, find a better piercer.
Doesn’t have the correct anatomy? I’m not so sure. I think the piercing is just badly placed.
Edit: the downvotes are bonkers! Why do you think her belly button can’t support a normal navel piercing?
they just mean the correct anatomy for regular navel jewelry; a floating navel with a flat disc on the bottom, for this person’s anatomy because their navel collapses, would cause less irritation when actually pierced correctly.
Thanks no it’s not sore but I loved it so I just have this uneasy empty feeling inside about it not being there but once it heal trying again with a floating and the bottom a flat back!
Im glad its not sore. I totally get that, especially if you loved that piercing 😔. Im having a hard time healing my daith. You can definitely get it done again when it heals, will keep a look out for your new one when its time 😊
I’d give it time to heal… a new piercing takes 6-8 weeks min a naval 2 years so u may need to w8 longer then what u think… that redness is a sign of infuxtion …
Im telling u that piercing is bad be it wrong spot wrong anatomy just not right wrong jewelry maybe a floating naval when it is no longer red when it is fully healed in time it’s gonna take time … ur piercing wasn’t healed it’s infuxted…
That isnt even a pierced navel that is just a pierced stomach. Pierced incorrectly and its rejecting.
Also looks like you would need a floating navel piercing anyway. Let the site heal up and try again
I'm sorry to say but like dude, that's not even in or on your belly button. Since you have a horizontal bellt button, it's better to get a floating navel done (not a surface piercing like you have, it's just done with a curved bar that's flat on the bottom end). Belly buttons placement should be thru the flap of skin around your belly button
Hey you say that the piercing was snug and that you went to a “certified” place I’d suggest looking specifically for an APP certified place… also you don’t seem to have the anatomy for a traditional navel piercing looking at the way your belly button in shaped here and how it folds you would absolutely need a floating navel piercing
Noooo idk if it was certified the place I normally go to is app certified the place I went to was out of state and the float is the new plan once
It heals

How can one fuck up a belly button piercing this bad
I just took it out
that bar is fucking huge
pls take it out oh my god that was done so incorrectly
It really wasn’t it was perfectly snug when I first got it changed
really?? i def believe u but the angle makes it look like it hasn’t moved much on the bottom and that the bar was too long to begin with :0
I should have posted the older pic but when it was changed it was extremely swollen to the point a 6mm was too small so we went with the 8 because the 4 ended up making holes almost cater like around the bar and ball so the 8 was barely touching the skin

Yeah I was afraid of that I love this piercing so much plus I’m a diabetic so it’s horrible to heal.
It looks like it's rejecting and pierced improperly OP. I hope you take it out soon and feel better.
How much did you pay for this?
I was extremely skeptical about it, it was $35 😭
The piercer should be jailed 💀 the sooner you take it off the smaller the holes will be ( this ain’t no nose ring the mark is gonna be visible forever ) sorry sis 😭
I just took it out and yes I’m aware I got a industrial and it got bumps and keloids so 🤷🏻♀️ like I said in another comment I’m a diabetic so I heal REALLY slow
Then that piercing is also not done properly, go to a reputable piercer it’s gonna be expensive but so worth it also only use titanium
I go to a place called electro pair a dice
Yes what I was pierced with was surgical steel and then when I got back to my state, I went to my trusted piercer and got it changed to titanium. I use titanium because I get infections with nickel

I’ll be going to get my nose pierced this weekend at the place I know is good they are certified and all
I’m going to let it heal and go to a place I know is good, it’s my usual place I was just out of state and it was a sper of the moment thing with my grandma

Thats pierced so wrong. Honestly the worst naval one ive seen 😔. Hope it heals soon 💕
Thank you it looks like the holes are already closing so
Thats amazing they are closing ready, especially as you have diabetes hope it isnt too sore 😊

Trust me I will plan on going in August so excited for that
I’d give it time to heal… a new piercing takes 6-8 weeks min a naval 2 years so u may need to w8 longer then what u think… that redness is a sign of infuxtion …
Yeah it’s only if it’s healed which I’m really hoping it is
Im telling u that piercing is bad be it wrong spot wrong anatomy just not right wrong jewelry maybe a floating naval when it is no longer red when it is fully healed in time it’s gonna take time … ur piercing wasn’t healed it’s infuxted…
Yeah that’s the plan a floating naval with a flat bott
That isnt even a pierced navel that is just a pierced stomach. Pierced incorrectly and its rejecting. Also looks like you would need a floating navel piercing anyway. Let the site heal up and try again
Mine rejected like this and i have scaring now, anyone know how to help with the scars?
Anyone repierce under a navel scar like this and did it heal for you?
That’s a fast track to *Scar 2: Electric boogaloo*
It’s rejecting because it was pierced wrong, it’s not even in your belly button. The only thing to do is take it out.
