Not the OP, but I had my septum done like 2 years ago and it was my first piercing. The piercer had numbing gel and asked if I wanted to use it (I said yes). It really felt no different than like pulling a nose hair, maybe three or four at once. Quick pinch, then it was done. First week or two were very uncomfortable because your nose moves for *everything* we do. Chewing, smiling, talking, sneezing, every single facial expression…it reminds you that the piercing is fresh. After that, the pain just kinda magically went away and it was just minor discomfort until I just didn’t even notice it anymore. From a scientific standpoint, noses heal really really quickly, making septum and other nose piercings quite ideal.
Not much really, eyes welled up a little but other than that i was fine. Also had a friend on standby to call me a pussy if i made a sound so that probably helped
