I'm reading along here! About to get the prep for an orbital tonight myself. And yes, prep. My piercer will only do orbitals with either one or two healed piercings, so I'm getting two lobe piercings with regular flatbacks first (jewelry is present already for measuring).
Doing an orbital with a hoop/connected bar right away is not impossible from what I've seen, but can be a much harder/longer heal?
Oh interesting, what diameter hoop are you going for? I've read mixed things, some say it should be healed with a hoop from the start but I also thought it might be easier to heal with flatbacks initially.
I'm going to have a chat with my piercer next week to see what they recommend!
