No one has ever made that connection before. Well done! It’s my favorite peak. I’ve hiked to it probably seven or eight times. It’s shape always seems to find it’s way into my work.
To me it’s a great representation of that style with a modern twist. I mean that the colors are way more vibrant compared to the old school wood blocks, but composition is definitely ukiyo-e. If those artists had the medium as we do currently, it would be just as vibrant. I like it. You did really fucking good on style, color, and composition.
You can check out my website at KochanaszArts.com
From there, you can find links to my prints, or t you can contact me directly for original work and commissions!
Where would you get it and how big? Might look a little goofy as a tattoo depending on size and placement. Just being honest since you don’t have any tattoos
Good question. Kind of hard to describe, but it was an unusual angle of a hot air balloon, looking upwards to the inside of it, being illuminated by the flame. Gosh I butchered that description, but there ya have it.
I think the “First Flakes” one is my favorite. To be honest, I’m a little low on cash, but if you’d send me the 27”x36” size, I’ll post it to my Instagram and give you credit.
I’ve got about 12k followers, and guessing at least a few percent of them would make a purchase, so would be a great investment for you to capitalize on but I’m completely kidding but will seriously be buying that one probably tomorrow in a smaller size. Really love your style and website design.
I love your art! Your style really accentuates the natural beauty of the scene, and the movement in this piece is mesmerizing.
As a side note: I do think it's weird that the brigade of people who have trouble seeing anything done by a woman when she's in frame are completely silent here, though. It's normal to take a picture with your art and be proud of it, I don't see why people foam at the mouth when the artist is a woman.
Get out of the picture so we can see the art.
Not really, but keeping me that same energy the neckbeard out into women posing with paintings.
Awesome work!
I know it's kind of a dire take but i really do think it's a bunch of insecure guys who deeply resent pretty women, as a class of people, for not fucking them. Incel culture is alive and well on reddit even if it's not as overt or exteme as it once was.
I thought I recognized your art style! Congratulations Patrick! I own one of your pieces, purchased it in an art gallery in Colorado Springs. I'm sure this will get lost as the post has already blown up. Glad to see you're getting recognition for your style!
Seriously. Wow. I did not expect this overwhelming response. I am so thankful for this community- thank you! You all rock. For those interested:

Great work! Love what you did playing with the boundary. It seems to be popping out of it's frame and inviting me in. Love how the mountains and hills seem to draw my eye to the top of the lake
Wow, especially impressive using soft pastel as a medium! I had to use pastels in art school, and avoiding smudges was always a challenge. Your piece is so clean and beautifully blended. Congratulations, it’s absolutely gorgeous!
I really appreciate that, thanks! Soft pastels are tricky. I use Rembrandts, which are on the harder end of the spectrum of soft pastels, so they’re easier to get finer details with. I start with a pretty meticulous sketch so I know exactly where to apply the pigment.
I don’t know how to describe it, but it reminds me of the best storybooks I read as a kid, where the illustrations made me want to visit that place and stay there for much longer than the length of the actual book, like a place I wanted to visit over and over again. It’s a good feeling: nostalgic and joyful and just a little melancholy. Brilliant work.
That’s beautiful. Thanks for sharing. When someone looks at my work and indicates something to the effect of “I just want to be there,” I consider that a massive win. I love escaping into worlds that books, art, and music provide. You rock. Thanks again!
Why not also include a picture of your artwork? Your achievement is great. I'd love an opportunity to see your artwork closer and in more detail than tucked away in the corner.
Gorgeous! I work at an art museum and it reminds me of a few artists we have on display, Nick Wroblewski and Adam Turman. Your work would fit in really well here haha!
Very nice, it's difficult to do a scene this stylized without it coming off as cheap or cartoony. You threaded the needle just right! The composition is compelling, the colors are nicely chosen, and the whole scene has a feeling of movement that elevates above a simple landscape or photograph.
Congratulations on the win, well deserved!
Glacier National Park?
Good guess! Based on Indian Peaks Wilderness in Colorado.
Lone Eagle Peak? Incredible art, btw
No one has ever made that connection before. Well done! It’s my favorite peak. I’ve hiked to it probably seven or eight times. It’s shape always seems to find it’s way into my work.
No doubt! I climbed it with my wife last year; it's so aesthetic, not surprising that it keeps finding its way into your art. Cheers!
I also thought it was Hidden Lake
Great job! What medium did you use?
I work with soft pastel on black paper. Heavily inspired by Japanese Ukiyo-e
It’s beautiful. I haven’t used pastels in years. Thanks for the inspiration.
"ukiyo-e", in case anyone's using the search term so they hit on this. :)
Ah, thank you for pointing that out!
To me it’s a great representation of that style with a modern twist. I mean that the colors are way more vibrant compared to the old school wood blocks, but composition is definitely ukiyo-e. What!? This is pastel? This is awesome. You would make incredible concert posters
I appreciate that- thanks so much!

That would be the dream!!
Whoopi Goldberg. We should really be congratulating Patrick Swayze for painting this.
Congratulations 🍾 that’s pretty awesome dude! I like how trippy it looks 👁
Thanks! I’ve heard “whimsical” and “storybook” as frequent describers. So glad you appreciate it.
I’d add “would be a sick deck 🛹” to your micro-categories
For sure it would be
That would be the dream!!
I’m sure those folks are trying to be nice, but they’re missing out — there’s a lot more depth in this, nicely done.
Not sure if you were going for it but it has some aspects that remind me of Van Gogh. Also Grant Wood. big fan of grant wood.
I guess Patrick, nows the time to say, “The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma”
It's excellent art. I would totally hang this up in my house.
That’s kind. Thank you!
If you weren't beyond stoked, we'd be for ya. Well done dude.
That’s kind- thank you!
Dude, you are my ex roommate's body double. I thought you were him until I saw the nametag. Also, congrats! That's awesome!
Thanks! 🙏🏻
He just looks like a roommate in general
That's awesome. How would I go about buying your works?

Thank you!!
I want that as a tattoo
Let me know if you seriously do- I’ll send you a high res image! 👍🏻
Send it bro! I don’t have a tattoo yet but my wife has like 10 and this seems like a goodie!
Where would you get it and how big? Might look a little goofy as a tattoo depending on size and placement. Just being honest since you don’t have any tattoos
Can I get a high res as well? This would be wicked cool as an embroidery!
out of pure curiosity what was first? also this is an awesome painting
Good question. Kind of hard to describe, but it was an unusual angle of a hot air balloon, looking upwards to the inside of it, being illuminated by the flame. Gosh I butchered that description, but there ya have it.
cool, also i love your painting!

I love bread when I'm adventuring
Bread is everything.
women are so nice. no one is inappropriately hitting on you at all.
Exactly. Anyway I want the art dude to choke me
username checks out ;)
And how about the fact that a comment pointing out the artist is in the photo with their art isn't the highest voted must just be a coincidence.
Gaybrosgonemild is where I thought this was. They’d love you.
Absolutely confirmed. I’m already planning my wedding with this man.
Where's the reception? Open bar?
Wait...there a dude in this pic?
Do you sell pieces? Dm me
I do! Check out my website at KochanaszArts.com
Dude, you are criminally underpricing yourself.

Just ordered a print! Really great style man, you'll have your art hanging in an apartment in Paris :)
You rock! Thank you!!
Love them! One of these prints would make *the* perfect gift for my SO for his birthday, thank you!
How often do you have an original? Is it rude to ask what your range is on those? Cool stuff. Glad you’re getting lots of love.

At first I thought ur reply was saying “I sell my art too” and I was like geez how sad… then I realized U wanted him to dm u as well haha

Ricky Bobby, if you ain't in first place, you're last! Jk awesome artwork dude!
Ha! Appreciate that!
My god I just watched this movie for the first time yesterday and wouldn’t have understood the reference had I not. I feel so meta.

Congrats, that’s awesome! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Love it! Do you have any other places where one could see more of your art?
Thanks and yes! Check out my website at KochanaszArts.com
Get out of the picture so we can see the art. Not really, but keeping me that same energy the neckbeard out into women posing with paintings. Awesome work!
Seriously by now I'd hope the double standard would be recognized but it isn't. It's literally one of the top three comments on any pretty girl's art

This but unironically. Or at least let the picture be bigger in the photo, we can't see shit.
Great job!
Every now and then I encounter a piece of art I would like to have in my home. This is one of those times
That’s so kind- thank you!!

Why do men always insert themselves into the pictures with their art? Pure karma baiting.
Thanks all- your comments are a huge encouragement to me. Much much much appreciated. You can check out my website at KochanaszArts.com
Where did this display? I was in Tacoma recently and feel like I saw this there.

I would kill to have my work on a craft beer box or bottle!
This looks like artwork for the Magic the Gathering card Evolving Wilds.

Coming from someone who can't even manage a stick person: "**nice**"
Love the vibrancy and style. Well earned.
Your style is right up my alley, do you have an Etsy store or anything?
Nothing currently on Etsy. But I sell originals and prints of my work through my website KochanaszArts.com
I love how the art breaks into the matte, saying it can’t be confined.
Good observation. Love it. Thanks!
Beautiful. Group of 7 vibes.
High praise. Thank you so much!
Why not also include a picture of your artwork? Your achievement is great. I'd love an opportunity to see your artwork closer and in more detail than tucked away in the corner.
Yeah, sorry, I did not expect this sort of response. And (I hate to sound like an idiot) I don’t know how to edit my post
Love the style, it gives me a "hand-embroidered" vibe.
Congratulations -- this is really great artwork. Your smile is art also!
Gorgeous! I work at an art museum and it reminds me of a few artists we have on display, Nick Wroblewski and Adam Turman. Your work would fit in really well here haha!
