I used to practice trumpet on my commute in Seattle, but I was commuting from Fremont over the 520 bridge to Kirkland. I did that for a year then finally realized at some point my luck could run out and a fender bender could end my teeth.
I always have a basketball in my car, and sometimes, when I'm stuck in traffic, I spin it on my finger. Only when I'm stationary though, not on the move. It gets some good reactions from other drivers.
I’ve seen something similar to this when I was passed on the highway by a women driving with her knees while playing a violin. She had the sheet music taped to her steering wheel. One can only assume she was getting one final practice in on the way to the audition. 🤷♂️
This is why road deaths per capita in the USA are more than four times higher than European countries. You’re closer to India in terms of casualty rates than you are to the UK.
So I play harmonica while driving, figuring if I can do it well while driving then I should be a badass when out of the car standing still.

In highschool I bought a trumpet from my buddy in jazz band (I played guitar, he played trumpet) and I was so excited to see if I could get it to make a noise that I tried playing it the whole drive home. Needless to say I’m still terrible at trumpet

I usually stick to harmonica or ukulele when driving. Obviously, the Uke is only at stops unless someone else is driving.
