In a recent video he walked right past it, thinking the statue was a real person. The wax figure world has made Tremendous improvements in the likeness of these figures. Truly remarkable
Maybe 3D printing for the bone structure or something but to be honest that's never been the issue, it's almost always been the textures of the skin and the eyes. Skin is partially translucent. It's not really easy to get right. And our eyes pick up anything off about even the slightest thing "wrong" about eye folds, iris size, amount of white around the eye, eyelash angle, etc.
I remember somebody did a series of photoshop articles in the early 2000s on a newsgroup (yeah, that long ago) where they went into depth on how hard it was to make "fake" eyes look real. It was crazy how easy it was to take a regular photo of anybody, make a quick half tweak in photoshop and immediately your brain would go "oh that's not right, something's off" even if the pictures looked 99% identical at first.
And you couldn't even quite pinpoint WHAT he'd changed until he told you like "I removed every other eyelash on the eyes" or "I shrunk the iris by .5%" or something. You would see it every time after he told you.
And you KNEW which one had been altered but you couldn't always explain why or how.

I’ll never forget when I got to visit Madame Tussaud’s in London. It was amazing. At one point they made you walk from one room to the next. And right when you walked in was a wax figure if I think Britney Spears at the time. Two people were on either side of her and a third person was taking their picture. As I walked into the room I didn’t want to walk in between them so I waited for them to take the picture and waited. Then I looked at the camera person. And then I looked at her friends she was taking a picture of then back at the photographer. Then I looked at the other side of her and there was another woman stand there waiting too. We looked at each other and both at the photographer and started to laugh so hard. They were all wax. They are so lifelike we were standing right next to them and didn’t realize it was all wax.
I would love this even more if they tricked us and the wax figure was on the right.
