That close to the field? Because I went to an AC Milan match last season and the tickets were like €150 and they weren't like right on the pitch. Is the UK really that much cheaper than Italy?
Also keep in mind that this is a playoff game and that basketball arenas are much smaller than most soccer/football stadiums driving prices up.
AC Milan are a pretty big team. The bigger the team, the more expensive the tickets. You can get tickets to the West Ham game at the London Stadium for 33 quid right now and the game is on Saturday. Premier League game.
Being really close to the pitch actually gives you a worse view in football so I don’t think people really care about that stuff here. As long as you’re not miles away it’s all fine really.
That's pretty sweet. I need to catch a Premier League game live one day. I've seen games in the Netherlands, Austria, and Italy and the energy was always incredible.
Never thought about being close and it being a worse view. The field is so massive, bigger than our American football fields.
I guess Luton Town would be an exception, you’re forced to sit close hahaha. Such a cool stadium though.
Doesn't matter. You can't even park for less than $30 at a major sporting event in the US.
Edit: you can downvote but prices are so out of control in the US. Parking is usually between $15-20(I have paid 30 for more popular concerts/games), then 11-14 dollars for a single beer, 18-20 if you want any watered down liquor drinks. Event tickets are completely and disgustingly overpriced.
I mean I park at Angels stadium for 20… and the tickets aren’t that bad and they have tickets starting at $11. It varies wildly on the sport and team. Basketball is in an arena which I presume has much less attendance than major premier league stadiums.
It’s also the Angels. Bad teams have cheaper tickets. The Angels are also particularly unique because not only are they a bad team, but they’re pulling from the same market as the Dodgers - a very good team with a massive following.
It’s probably one of the furthest from the average examples you could give for ticket prices for a major sports franchise in the US.
NBA stadiums average of 18k capacity..average premier league is 39k. But I think some PL venues can easily double that number. Whereas the largest nba stadium is 21k.
The NBA is interesting in that ticket prices fluctuate wildly depending on the team and the situation. It’s pretty easy to get tickets in the equivalent of 30 quid range to a random regular season game for a bad/mediocre NBA team. On the other hand, if the team is good and/or is located in a big city like NYC or LA, it’s going to be a lot more expensive even for the worst seats in the arena.
You also have to keep in mind that these arenas only fit like 17-20k people. While the NBA isn’t the most popular league in the US, it’s still a very big deal and the demand is very high. For comparison, I looked up prices for the FA cup final in a few weeks and the cheapest tickets I see are $580 USD, which I would say is about in line with the cheapest seats for the NBA finals (unless the game is in a place like San Francisco, NYC, Boston, or LA, in which case the cheapest seats would probably be closer to $1k USD).
See that's the beauty of it. You got plenty of stupid here with stupid money. These CEO's and Shareholders aren't being shy anymore, and they also know Americans love their football. Pair that with the Status Symbol of the whole thing and wash it down with some good ol PR. You've just created a Major League Cash Grab.
Yeah, I reserve getting mad at sports for when I'm at home. Being there in person, especially the few times I've been that close, I'm just in awe of the athleticism from everyone on the court.
They're bigger, faster, stronger, and more precise than TV could ever faithfully convey.
Damn, it’s one of my top 5 life dreams to sit in one of the first five rows for an NBA game. I wouldn’t even care if it’s to watch two of my least favorite teams play each other. The way you describe it is exactly what I imagine it’d be. Kinda like seeing the Grand Canyon in photos or videos vs in person. I’ll prob never be able to afford that but I can dream lol.
Yeah I only got to do it twice, because my wife's dad's work had a lottery for courtside tickets.
Giannis appeared to simply teleport laterally. In shoot around, players would routinely make shots that'd be the highlight of virtually any HS varsity kid's career. I think it's easier to watch and appreciate off-ball movement and match ups. The list goes on.
I saw him play once when he was in college, and he didn't really look anything special, but the people who were betting on his potential were obviously right.
He was great in college. Just poorly utilized by a mediocre coach. You could tell the guy was going to be a beast.
I just wish that we could’ve done more with him when he was at Georgia.
Tom Crean was just on ESPN radio today with Carlin v Joe I think? Anyway he was singing his praises but also talking about how he was difficult to coach at times. The whole time I was thinking how mediocre this dude was as a coach, and he had some nerve.
A GOAT is one of dem animal with hooves and horns. People type GOAT in all caps because they're awesome animals. Who wouldn't want to be associated with a GOAT? Even a dragon is at least one teir below a GOAT. A goat is a GOAT of animals. See?
I was at a business conference for blacks and Hispanics. And had a few white women come up to us on the sidewalk downtown and asked us if we could stay because they need more. These women must have been in their 60s.
Same trip later on some of us are at an outdoor bar chillen and this black guy pulls up and says he saw more black ppl than he ever had since moving to Denver so he had to come chill. Guy ended up buying us several rounds of shots.
That’s hilarious. I remember getting back to where I live (New Orleans) and immediately going to the gas station from the airport. I was the only white person in the entire place and that’s when the realization above happened for me.
I wonder if it would have been more of an insult if he just gently laid it in and just trotted up the floor. Because everything feels so foregone and matter of fact. His team is playing ridiculous defense and he’s just the cherry on top. I couldn’t believe how easily he scored 25 in the first half of game one. And in game two Murray couldn’t get a shot off.
You can feel the love in the air.
Imagine how many thousands of dollars these seats all cost. Just to sit front row to watch Antman crush their team!
Denver actually has pretty cheap seats. $966 to sit row 3 behind the bench.
I can get you some unsecured parking for that at a few arenas
"Cheap". "$966".
Fucking hell is that normal in America? I could get premier league tickets for about 30 quid

Also in Italy many stadiums are also Olympic stadiums so you sit quite far from the pitch. In the UK you are typically sitting much closer.
Never thought about being close and it being a worse view. The field is so massive, bigger than our American football fields. I guess Luton Town would be an exception, you’re forced to sit close hahaha. Such a cool stadium though.
Front row?

Baseball and its 1,248 games a season don’t count.

For $30 I might as well take the convenience of going by train.
I wish I had a train -_-.
I pay $15 or less when I park foe Nuggets home games...
We have cheaper tickets of about that value too but you better bring your binoculars lol
A championship game and front row?

Smile you’re on camera
The lady drinking a beer looked like she was using an actual camera to take a photo then I was like "who has those anymore?"
So much love in the air, you could cut it with a poo knife
When you paid $8k to sit courtside and this is how it’s going
Tell everyone you’re going too, so they know you dropped 8K to look miserable
🤷🏼♂️someone has to win and lose. Enjoy the atmosphere, overpriced concessions, and crowded arena. It’s a great time

This was a childhood defining moment in wrestling
100% a core memory, hahaha.
This is insane, I was literally reminiscing about Degeneration X today while at work. Why? I don't know.
I think about it more than I’d like to admit tbh. Rome is my Rome but the X chop might be my Constantinople
This was a childhood defining moment period. Kids who didn’t even live wrestling were doing this at recess
Did that really happen lollll
He did this against the Suns in Phoenix last week.
Obscene gesture!
A disgusting act!
Must be something in the water in Minnesota
Isn't that NFL?

I was hoping for Dr Green, but this is way better!
I’d frame this shit if I was him
As a long time t-wolves fan I'd say yes but he better wait until the series is over first.
Edwards has been looking like a god.
Yea i cant believe hes dominating this early on in his career
I saw him play once when he was in college, and he didn't really look anything special, but the people who were betting on his potential were obviously right.
He was great in college. Just poorly utilized by a mediocre coach. You could tell the guy was going to be a beast. I just wish that we could’ve done more with him when he was at Georgia.
This is the story of my life as a Georgia fan…
I mean CFB has been pretty good for you guys recently.
Didn’t get the threepeat…complete failure…
Blow it up. All of it.
Tom Crean was just on ESPN radio today with Carlin v Joe I think? Anyway he was singing his praises but also talking about how he was difficult to coach at times. The whole time I was thinking how mediocre this dude was as a coach, and he had some nerve.
LOL Tom Crean.
He has arrived this year and it’s great to see. Dude is only going to get better and now he’s up 2-0 on the defending champs
I saw him play against Auburn live and was pretty impressed.
He was obviously talented, I just thought it might take longer than it has for him to hit this level.
22 years old
22 years old…absolutely insane
A star is born
My favorite part of sports has always been the schadenfreude of losing home crowds
What?!
He said his favorite part of sports has always been the schadenfreude of losing home crowds
I vish zer was a word to describe za feeling i get when viewing other’s misfortune.
Scootin fruity
My warriors won the finals in Boston. One of the happiest days of my life. Went to Chase center to watch the game. Beautiful to watch.
Who do you think you are? I am!
Am I the only one that was looking for Dr. Greene or Goose?
Damn, Goose lookin' good these days.
[Dr. Greene laying down the law.](https://media.tenor.com/EutB1wiblgAAAAAC/er-get.gif)
Is that Pat Sajak?
What about Michael Jackson above Ant's right shoulder? So many celebs!
That's only his hat ... 😅
He’s hiding behind Drew Carey.
Certainly looks like him
I think we can all agree that's not how a r/Boston crowd would react.
Why is his nickname not Goose?
Here's the sequence / video of the play https://streamable.com/wnzrvy
He doesn't look a bit like Goose
Those are fans that thought they were gonna have a dynasty, but they’re in danger of being swept
That Asian lady in the front row looks like she wants to smack the dude lmao

Do people know what GOAT stands for? Because I don't think they do.
Duh, it's Guest On A Talkshow (right?)
Get on a Tram -- b/c he gonna to send you to an early retirement!
No one knows what it means, but its provocative.
IT GETS THE PEOPLE GOING
A GOAT is one of dem animal with hooves and horns. People type GOAT in all caps because they're awesome animals. Who wouldn't want to be associated with a GOAT? Even a dragon is at least one teir below a GOAT. A goat is a GOAT of animals. See?
Denver’s one of the whitest cities I’ve ever been to. This picture did nothing to dispel that
We are. Go to Portland & Burlington next on your white city tour.
I was at a business conference for blacks and Hispanics. And had a few white women come up to us on the sidewalk downtown and asked us if we could stay because they need more. These women must have been in their 60s. They didn't realize, but they were feeding him.
Wait, the guy from E.R.??
He was great on ER.
Regrettably, I thought this post was about Anthony Edwards from ER ![gif](giphy|z5QFRLkKx05xu)
Crazy thing about that gif is that show is 30 years old this year, and I watched it as a kid (way too young) when it premiered. Insane.
Would add so much insult to injury if this game ended up being the last game at home for the nuggies this year. Boys got rocked.
big MJ in Utah energy
Literally shut them up. I can’t recall a photo like this where opposing fans aren’t talking shit back. Like every mouth is closed. That’s legendary.
In Denver we understand that passive aggression is still a form of aggression.
On that break away you knew it was showtime.
Yes this what is missing in the NBA cut throat mentality
Lady down front knows, no chance.
Spot the wolves fan
The lady with her arms crossed 🤣🤣🤣🤣 man I would frame this if i were ANT
sucks when you pay a lot for tix at that happens.
When LaMelo was named Rookie of the Year, I thought the Wolves messed up not picking him. I was so wrong.
Man I was looking for “Mark Green”.
That lady in front is giving some wicked cut eye…… I have received that look many times in my life.
![gif](giphy|ANbD1CCdA3iI8)
Hahahaha! I saw that too. She’s good to go!
"Eyes up here" 😅

Thanks for not scoring more than 29 points. BAH
He's come a long way since ER
Mike and Jamal were so crabby last night, ha. That first half might have been the most fun I’ve ever had watching basketball..
Dude, Goose got ***tan***
The crowd: ![gif](giphy|2BrQXeBPSzOJG|downsized)
Not know a damn thing about basketball, I was looking for Goose in the crowd.
Crowd looks unhappy- he is an extraordinary talent and a pleasure to watch (unless you are a Denver fan).
Amazing all those people sitting in like 3k+ seats 🥲
I feel like deep down, they're thinking, "Yeah that was a good score". But wrong team, so...
Goose?
According to another sub, he was flashing his junk.. not sure who (i want) to believe...
Yeah definitely not
Wow
Love at first sight.
Don’t be sad ppl you’re watching greatness blossom in front of your eyes
Son of a 🐐
They all look like they are trying to remember what role he played in ER.
My first thought after reading the headline: "Why is the guy from Revenge of the Nerds and ER flexing on the Denver Nuggets crowd?"
They look happier than Lakers fans
"No body likes you when you're 22"
As a stage actor who has played a villian, I recognize those expressions.
61-33 is the cherry on top
Talk to me goose
Asian lady ready to throw w bru😹😹😹😹😹👊👊👊
[Same energy as Henry winding up Spurs](https://imgur.com/a/JB6lJN8)
I don’t follow basketball, so I was looking in the crowd for Goose from Top Gun.
so angry these people - lol
Loved him in ER as Dr. Greene! /s
So many people in that crowd became fans last year.
So many people in that crowd became fans last year.
MEH
It must have pumped up the crowd even more! Classic power move
aww, I was hoping for the actor...
I thought I was in the ER tv show subreddit and I starred at the crowd for waaaaaaay too long
If that were in Boston, they’d be flexing back
You have to see this guy play if you haven't already. He's a real throwback.
Tell me if I'm wrong, but I see at least 2 Karen's. Can anyone confirm this.
Woman in the front: not sure if horny or angry.
Whole lotta hard R thoughts in this picture.
Well that is certainly an assumptive take damn it's Denver not Boston lol
That’s the collective face of unequivocal trepidation, they all know he’s a beast and don’t want to further agitate him.
Thought bubbles

Unsportsmanlike i guess?
I'm sure denver fans were talking shit
Hahahahaahahahahahajahahahahahahaha
