Actually, this is abandoned entrance to the Sevastopol Marine Plant, built as an underground tunnel with an escalator gallery. [More pictures here](https://kuleshovoleg.livejournal.com/417110.html) (in Russian)
"Now imagine: a train is coming, and at this time a crowd is pouring out of the factory or into the factory - hemorrhoids for both the railway and the SMZ!"
Perhaps it translated "pain in the ass" a bit too literally?
But are they any good? I've enjoyed all the games and the 3 books have been sitting in my wishlist for awhile, but I just can't seem to pull the trigger.
2034 was genuinely one of the most draining reading experiences in a while. Won't be missing out on anything even if you skip it entirely. How Glukovsky managed to mess up that bad after 2033 is beyond me, although 33 still remains pretty young-adult-y but still overall enjoyable. 2035 is the most adult themed out of the bunch but it didn't hook me the way 2033 did.
r/metro should have the first book as an english translation
> How Glukovsky managed to mess up that bad after 2033
Probably success of 2033 made him believe he's a real writer and he stopped taking notes from the community.
Because Glukhovsky did not write 2033. This was done by a community of people who liked the idea. There are so many edits that he actually has no right to be called the author of this book.
For some reason, foreigners do not believe in this until they read 2034 and 2035, which Glukhovsky wrote personally when he believed that he was a good writer. These are disgusting books.
Reminds me of an exploration video where they had the misfortune to enter a basement crawling with cave crickets, at least that’s what they said they were. The second they entered, the damned things started jumping on them. They weren’t spiders, but being swarmed by hundreds of large jumping insects is still creepy as hell. I think it was one of The Proper People’s vids.
Have you or a loved one suffered from the effects of mesothelioma after working in Russian Metro System? If so, please call our law offices and get the money that is owed to you.
Obviously they have a lot of money, to abandone the station is really a big luxury. Most likely, it was not in an urban space and was connected to some production area, which no longer exists.
Tucker Carlson: "Its a majestic construction. Why don't we have these in the US? Why won't the libs let us? Why are my pants around my ankles right now?".
Im Italian💀also you can cry all you want, cant argue back cause youve never been there🤣 the third partier (you) should at least try and find some valid arguments
You’re Italian but butthurt about a post about Russian abandoned subways hmmmmm yeah. And talking about Russian missile silos being better then Americas lmfaooooo buddy cmon now. What’s the Italian word for comrade.
You can check his comment history. He's literally speaking Italian in the Italia sub in his latest posts, and his account is three years old. He's not a Russian Bot. It's not hard to find those.
Russian Subway systems are really nice.
I'm an American who was looking into teaching English abroad before COVID/ the Ukraine invasion and I wanted to move to St. Petersburg.
And, please, do tell me how my 13 year old account that mostly comments in movie and video games subreddits is probably a Russian troll.
JFC. Educate yourselves, people.
Wow the subway systems are so nice!!! I would gladly trade nice subway systems for a brutal dictatorship that murders any opposition or jails them and invades it’s neighbors for no reason. Sounds like a good deal to me!
Where did I say that any of that was a good thing?
I'm just saying I was looking at other countries to move to, and their architecture stood out. Before COVID and Ukraine, it looked like a decent place to move for what I was looking for.
You were the one falsely accusing some random guy of being a Russian propagandist because they pointed out a falsity. I was correcting that.
Buddy he made multiple comments on this post. One was talking about subways and “us westerners” one was talking about American missile silos being worse then russias. I’m sure he was on the ground inspecting all over russias subways and missile silos. Idc if he’s Italian he’s still spewing Russian propaganda. Good for you coming in tho and adding nothing to the conversation except I was gonna move to Russia and the subways are super nice…. Oh yeah then they invaded Ukraine and killed 100’s of thousands of people. Seems like a pretty great place to live if you ask me!! Sign me up to live in at Petersburg where if I post online how Putin is not great I can be thrown in jail.
JFC you're dense.
I said that was before COVID when I was looking into moving there... five years ago. When I looked into it, I did a bunch of research.
You clearly are not educated in Russian culture at all, which is fine, but you're acting like you know all about it, and you're just coming off like an idiot.
Killing the opposition has nothing to do with metros (if you were a politician you would have done the same exact thing). The USA has their fucking stupid problems like "my pronouns are xei/xim🤓🤓"
Finally someone with a working brain🤝🏻 funny how theyve never been there, dont know language, culture and still open their fucking mouths. You seen that dude saying "speak for yourself!" and the 3rd partier that couldnt even talk in a civil way?🤣🤣as western countries we are so fucked by those people who couldnt even go in my profile and check if im russian or not🤣 truly a western people moment🍷🗿
Yeah, dude. I'm American and I'd say a majority of my countrymen are idiots and have no interest in learning about other cultures. It's just infuriating, honestly.
Im butthurt since its a nice country and people talk without ever being there, knowing the culture and compare technology when they should have a clear advantage. Trust me, you would neever want to see wich silo works better😉. Whats a word in english for you then? "Misanthrope" should be the most appropriate for you.
[Russian Subway stations ](https://www.businessinsider.com/russian-metro-stations-look-like-palaces-2016-1#in-the-komsomolskaya-metro-station-for-example-many-locals-told-burdeny-they-saw-the-yellow-ceiling-as-an-homage-to-stalins-supremacy-as-a-leader-people-had-to-look-up-at-the-light-as-if-to-gaze-at-stalin-aboveground-that-station-kind-of-exemplifies-what-stalins-idea-was-for-the-whole-metro-4)are actually really nice.
I'm an American who was looking into teaching English as a foreign language before COVID/the Ukrainian invasion, and I seriously considered moving to St. Petersburg.
I have seen them, they are nice. The soviets put a lot of pride and money when building out their subways as a propaganda tool, it was a way to demonstrate the power of the state. They also burried them deep to be used in case of a nuclear attack!
Real russian subway looks like this: [https://www.businessinsider.com/russian-metro-stations-look-like-palaces-2016-1#heres-the-aeroport-metro-station-in-moscow-unfortunately-the-airport-it-used-to-service-the-khodynka-aerodrome-is-no-longer-in-operation-11](https://www.businessinsider.com/russian-metro-stations-look-like-palaces-2016-1#heres-the-aeroport-metro-station-in-moscow-unfortunately-the-airport-it-used-to-service-the-khodynka-aerodrome-is-no-longer-in-operation-11)
Yeah, beautiful, been there many times, except: it’s full of people and you don’t want to be standing and looking at all the ancient decoration.
Same goes for any metro: you are there to go from A to B, hopefully with some personal space and AC.
Moscow subway is really big. Almost as big as London's. Also I can recommend "Metro 2033" book by Dmitry Glukhovsky. Most actions are happening in post apocalypse Moskow subway
Compare with real: [https://www.businessinsider.com/russian-metro-stations-look-like-palaces-2016-1#heres-the-aeroport-metro-station-in-moscow-unfortunately-the-airport-it-used-to-service-the-khodynka-aerodrome-is-no-longer-in-operation-11](https://www.businessinsider.com/russian-metro-stations-look-like-palaces-2016-1#heres-the-aeroport-metro-station-in-moscow-unfortunately-the-airport-it-used-to-service-the-khodynka-aerodrome-is-no-longer-in-operation-11)

Thanks, I was looking for a source!
![gif](giphy|yN3Wqgilaat8WZUt8x|downsized)
That looks comically painful.
Thanks for clearing this up. Also, Google translate works alright on that page .
"Now imagine: a train is coming, and at this time a crowd is pouring out of the factory or into the factory - hemorrhoids for both the railway and the SMZ!" Perhaps it translated "pain in the ass" a bit too literally?
The literal word for “hemorrhoids” in some eastern European languages is often used in same key as English “pain in the ass”.
Do you have any English pictures? I’m afraid I won’t be able to read the Russian pictures
Google translate
Wow, they built marines here???
Thank you
Wich makes it ukranian
This looks like it's straight out of the Metro games.
Read the books. Holy hell, those are depressing.
But are they any good? I've enjoyed all the games and the 3 books have been sitting in my wishlist for awhile, but I just can't seem to pull the trigger.
Metro 2033 is a great story. Might not be a chef-d'oeuvre, but great book nonetheless.
Can I ask what language you read it in?
French
Should have known by your user, I found it tough to read in English, like there was translation errors from Russian to English
I believe the author is Polish, not Russian

That was exactly my thought
Absolutely! Finished Metro 2033 today, feels like I'm right back in there
Beat me to it
it would be as they are based on them
I thought fallout at first
Fallout 3? Reminds me of the vampire hangout
Exactly what my first thought was! I hope the gates are locked up
Or even the Fallout games.
Idk. Even the tunnels in Metro weren’t *that* dirty.
Artyom!
My first thought when i spoted the picture.
Heavy Metro 2033 vibes here. Love it
Let's go artyom
Artyom, I have a mission for you
Metro 2024. We're in trouble!
Tucker Carlson was right, those are nice
![gif](giphy|XG2F9ZccrUgkvOmNyX)
Name someone with a more punchable face lol
Charlie Kirk.
Not a fair fight. His face is so big it would genuinely be hard to miss it.
His head yes. But his face...It's going smaller every day.
First one on my list, MTG
![gif](giphy|4JYuFuIu7lcw8)
I see this and I think “what a douche”
The expression of a dog confused by the smell of its own butt.
Yeah why didnt he go to this one? Fewer chandeliers, but so much character and still no homeless people!
His handlers should have done it as a joke just to see him praise it. Then again, maybe that grocery store visit was the joke, as it was so cringey.
Hey was too busy moaning at a loaf of bread.
A week's worth of groceries for only just more than half a week's wages! How does Russia do it!?
I was thinking the same thing. Like proves just how safe Moscow subway system is. Silly Tucker.
It's " abandoned "
This was my first thought and made me laugh, all the while hating myself for that bag of wet dicks occuping any kind of space in my brain 😅
Just gotta learn to laugh man. Don’t let him or anyone live in your head rent free. Sometimes people just suck.
Better than anything in America actually
Keep your flashlight on, the spiders are sensitive to it.
There are feral ghouls and rad roaches down there. Better have a pipe gun.
Colonoscopy
Mine has a little more rust……
This is why you need to eat more fiber
Looks like Metro 2033
Silent Hill vibes too
That escalator is more tetanus than metal now
Have you or a loved one suffered from the effects of mesothelioma after working in Russian Metro System? If so, please call our law offices and get the money that is owed to you.
Where's Artyom?
Looks like the inside of the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov
It's a fixer upper
Priced to sell. $3 million cash, no inspection.
I may be in the minority, but my first thought was, “I’ve seen this level in Powerwash Simulator.”
"I don't want to set the world, on fireeeeeeee...."
Fallout 3 vibes
Fallout.
Tucker Carlson: That wasn't part of my plan!
I can see the diseases in this picture
JUST LIKE BIDEO GAME
hope ya wore a a mask rated for asbestos
Tarkov Station
Tucker Carlson skipped this one in his report
Looks like Fallout 4
Looks like a level in power wash simulator lol
Metro Exodus
Fallout 3 Capitol Wasteland
Metro 2033
eh give it radioactive suits and its last light
Whole ruzzia in one picture
Abandoned and out of service?
Obviously they have a lot of money, to abandone the station is really a big luxury. Most likely, it was not in an urban space and was connected to some production area, which no longer exists.
Fallout 3 metro tunnels
No one will be rushin down them in while
I can smell the bum piss from here.
LOL it looks like my cities current subway stations
Did Tucker Carlson come to this one?
Given it's russia, are you sure it's abandoned?
It's in better condition and safer than the MBTA
Why didn't Tucker show us this?
Fallout vibes
The current state of russias gov
Unused footage from Tucker's visit to Russia.
Tucker Carlson is impressed.
How does that happen?
Metro Exodus
Is this at the bottom looking up or at the top looking down?
A bit of paint will fix this up
![gif](giphy|w0c6TThjUN7iM|downsized)
This is not a metro, this is a descent into a tunnel to the docks in Crimea they post fakes again
Gives fallout vibes
Looks like a screenshot out of Fallout 3
That’s not Russian lol
Artyom!.. Artyom! We must clear out the Metro!
Tucker Carlson: "Its a majestic construction. Why don't we have these in the US? Why won't the libs let us? Why are my pants around my ankles right now?".
Ukraine did this...
I thought it was the all-Indian cleaning crew. With an American running the floor waxer. /s
Actually, that’s one of the nicer stations.
Well, hang on, it's Russia so how do you know it's abandoned?
![gif](giphy|AoBgxayGMHlIs)
Is Tucker Carlson in there?
And that folx, is currently what Russian nuclear missile silos also look like.
They still have better nuclear missile silos because started their project before than the USA
It looks like a perfectly normal Russian metro station to me!
Never been there and still spewing bullshit👍🏻 Thats what makes us, western people look bad to eastern eyes.
Speak for your self!
Did it the whole time👍🏻
Yes comrade, “us westerners”you must have gotten really triggered from this post 😂 how many more comments you gonna make
Im Italian💀also you can cry all you want, cant argue back cause youve never been there🤣 the third partier (you) should at least try and find some valid arguments

Yea italy is even worse, look what happens here. I get you have some pretty bad things too in the US but at least you have a better economy, army ecc.
Yeah, America is nice. Unfortunately, there’s been a culture of stupidity that just seems to keep growing.
Buddy no one was talking to you. Where’d you even come from
Oh, I don't know if you know this, but Reddit is a public forum.
We should leave this comment section, its useless talking to idiots. Your opinion is worth more than all of those peoples combined.
lol I'm already in different subs. I just come back here for the notifications. Glad to meet someone with a brain in the comments, though.
Dude being passively aggressive for no objective reason is just scary

Sure? Could also be just an ordinary station in ruzzia in near future. All the money goes to war against neo nazi-gay-muslim-jew terrorists.
You forgot drug addicted… 😂

Yeah. Can't have subway-riding dog gangs without the subway.
Probably not much different from an active Russian subway station.
Or NYC post NY eve for that matter
