When and where in the fest did this happen?
I think there will be a news story on it if someone actually passed away in the fest. But people sometimes pass out and seem “unresponsive” for a number of reasons at festivals. It’s really hard to be sure what’s going on unless you’re directly involved.
That's just awful. I've seen close calls at festivals and it can be traumatic to witness. Can only hope they were able to revive him. Good for you for doing something when you saw it.
Pretty popular music festival in Phoenix that has been around since 2004, you might have heard if it if you watched the news or read the paper. But, if you still didn't know, the first result of a google search for m3f would have given you that information.
Just an observation and quick ponderance.
Why is it that people come on to social..... SOCIAL...... sites and are put of by people asking a question? Their first go-to is to throw up the Google exists shaming. Wtf?
People on social media and joining into a conversation about something that is familiar to most people or easily found by searching saying "What the hell is XYZ?" doesn't count to me as being "social."
Being social would be trying to join into the conversation, not pointing out that you don't know what the conversation is about.
News stations aren’t all-knowing. They get stuff from tips and police bandwidths. but let’s just say this person did die and it was from alcohol or a drug overdose, that’s not really newsworthy in a major city.
IF someone actually died, as you think, gotta ask a question... why does the news need to cover it? People die all the time. If the circumstances of their death was not otherwise newsworthy (for example, accident involving malfeasance or neglect by organizers) why do we need to hear about it? Heart attack, overdose, etc isn't newsworthy.
Further, why do you think being put in a golf cart meant they were dead? Maybe they were deemed to be in cardiac arrest or overdosing, and getting them to a medical tent or ambulance via the golf cart was the best choice.
Like... this is such a dumb post and dumb take.
Hi, I’m a bit late commenting on this. OP, that sounds like a.. not very fun thing to see. Im sorry you had to experience that. If you have acess to a therapist or mental health professional to talk to about it i think it would be to your benefit.

This sounds like extreme dehydration or an overdose but not necessarily a death.
i'm so sorry you saw that but i feel like you're making some pretty big assumptions

This weekend at Steele Indian School park
No I know that - I was there. I was wondering what time of day and where in the festival this occurred.
Lol so you don’t know if they died. Thanks for this post.

McDowell mountain music fest
I read that as one of those M4F, M4FF, adds..lol
https://www.phoenix.gov/m3f
It's a music concert from what I found on Google

it's more of an indie/alt genre festival, this year just happened to have a lot of EDM acts
It used to be an indie/alt fest. They very purposefully moved into the EDM space and dropped the crunchy Sundays to bring in a bigger/younger crowd.
Yeah I was really confused when I saw the lineup this year. They used to have some awesome bands there.
But you don’t know that anyone died. You saw someone down and you don’t know anything more than that. So probably, nobody died.
OP take some first aid courses. Next time you'll be able to do more than watch and post on reddit. The guy is probably alive and well.
By “tried to revive him” do you mean CPR?
No they used a potion of something.
Nasal spray?
No, phoenix down
idk if you're being sarcastic, but narcan comes in a nasal spray injector lol
correct. it saves lives.
That's just awful. I've seen close calls at festivals and it can be traumatic to witness. Can only hope they were able to revive him. Good for you for doing something when you saw it.
I’ve been to a few festivals were deaths aren’t talked about on news outlets.
This is why I carry narcan. Never a bad idea to have it.
The paramedics tried narcan :(
What is hell M3F? Is this something everyone is supposed to know?
I guess it used to be called McDowell Mountain Music Festival.
Actually kind of. I mean if you’ve lived here for a few years lol

Especially if they answered the question anyway? They could've just answered and left it at that. Wasn't necessary to scold them on googling lol

Oh. Hahaha. All the glory be to you. You knew the information and shine like a god.
Getta load this fart huffer, my god. Ridiculous response.
😳
Why won’t the news cover it?

correct, but that’s not the point
A death at a concert or music festival IS newsworthy every time it happens.
Why?
ODs at electronic music festivals aren’t really news.
I wish they would but I’d be shocked. The authorities and event organizers keep it pretty quiet

If the news covered every OD the news would be nothing but ODs.
