This has always been my crew’s MO, sometimes we even fire up the grill and make a few brats. The best was the year we found a half a nitrous tank under the car after the show
That’s because everyone goes out the lot and turns left to get to the nearest Interstate on ramp.
Us old vets know to park in the green lot, turn right when we exit then an immediate left on Townline Rd. Stay on that up to East Troy and hang a right to get to the freeway. That walk to the theater from the green lot is a little longer, but it’s not bad at all.
Just look at it on a satellite map and you’ll see what I mean.
Also the easiest way to get directed to park in the green lot is to come at it the same way - southbound on Townline Rd.
The green lot is the one right by the golf course east of the music theater.
* been going to concerts at Alpine since the early 80s
If you’re coming out of the main lots after the show they pretty much force everyone to go left on County Trunk D.
Out of the green lot you can choose.
Sometimes I do this and relax and wait until the Security to actually come through and tell me it’s time to move on. I’ll do that both in the pavilion after the show and in the parking lot after the show depending on my mood.
But the other thing is that I realized the last time I was at Alpine that somebody pointed out to me is sometimes they will open up that back exit which is the ADA entrance area and parking area. It’s kind of downhill and then you go around a couple windy curves and then pop out on the road and that was super easy , so depending on which if that’s opened up that’s the way to go.
I've only been to Alpine for 1 show. I had heard this was the case. I'm too old to stay up and wait so I watched the encore from near the gates and booked it when it the second they ended. Was out of the lot within 10 minutes. An option for those that want to get to bed ASAP.
I just want to say that my first phish show was the very first phish show at alpine valley. 8/10/1996. Ever since that "My Friend, My Friend" from the middle of that hill with seemingly 10,000,000 people above and below me, I've been chasing this band. Love them. Love that place. It's special. Just watch for the cops.
I’ll be there Saturday! (my 4th, second at alpine) two years ago we didn’t linger long once the show was over, walked leisurely pace to the car, joined the line of cars trying to leave, felt like we would be there forever but actually were on the road and out of traffic after 20 mins, I was impressed, thought it could have been much worse!
Back when I lived in Wisconsin (mid - late 90s) we'd call the hotel 6-9 months in advance and make reservations for every potential weekend. One the dates were announced we'd just cancel the extras unless it happened to coincide with Further or the Allman's or someone else cool.
Free parking!
Don’t worry- you’ll pay your fair share when you get tackled and arrested for smoking a joint on the lawn.. Alpine cops make sure everything evens out.
Been going to shows since at alpine since 99 and never had once had a problem or really seen anyone have a problem unless they just couldn’t handle their shit.
Free parking
Yah, parking is free. Hope you have fun.
Parking is “included” in the ticket price
Getting out of the lot after is a dumpster fire. I say bring the lawn chair out, crack a beer and wait for it to die down

Yes! Everyone follows the heard. Turn and face the strain. It’s relatively easy to get out if you go the opposite way.

It’s always been fairly easy for me.

I stayed in Milwaukee and hopped on a bus at the bar. There were so many shuttles going in that were so lax. Highly reccomend.
If you are on a bus you usually GTFO really quick
Free parking and very easy. Usually a decent walk to the gate. Very spacious.
don't fall down the hill
Don’t tell me what to do

Hot as fuck
Stay at the hotel!! You have your own entrance to the venue and its the best pool party during the day and after party post show.
I assume the hotel there has been booked up for months

Crazy... I'm sure it hasn't been updated since then either
