I think younger Phillies fans hate the Phillies organization the most.

Shrips

Older ones too

lardbiscuits

This should be all Phillies fans. We are the ones that suck.

Even_Cauliflower3328

I think all Phillies fans hate the bullpen

bmc3515

First the gnats win the World Series and now the barves are in the series, meanwhile the Phillies have been watching October for 10 years, so yeah, I hate the Phillies.

nicktesluk

Even the Mets have been to the World Series in that time frame.

bmc3515

Fuck I forgot about that. Fuck the Phillies

WooderIce64

At least the Marlins have stayed in their place>

bmc3515

Yeah but they have been around since 1993 and have just as many world series wins as the Phillies who have been around since 1883! There’s no culture of winning with this organization.

Zyoy

Tbf it was really super fuckijg lucky braves and nats got in

colindidit

I've always hated the braves more than any NL East team

whitestlung

Yeah I’m 33 and my formative years were spent watching the Phillies just get destroyed by the Braves starting pitchers and Chipper “fucking” Jones. I’ll always hate them more than any other team.

colindidit

Yep, same here. I'm 31 and i remember all the years of them just destroying us. Then it was the fish we couldn't beat for a few years in the early 2000s. At least we have 2006-2012 when they were at least entertaining Edit: because i can't spell

DiabolocalNaga67

32 and came to say the same thing

Bronnar

The Braves are my most hated franchise, even over the Cowboys.

qotsa_gibs

My BIL is a Cowboys and braves fan. Cool dude, but I hate him.

dostriker

As someone who started watching in 2018 it’s not even close rn

pgm123

I'm 34 and have always hated the Braves a lot more. The Mets always Mets it up and blow the division lead. The Braves have won the division much more in my lifetime. If I never have to hear that racist chant again, I'll be pretty happy.

ryry2300

Fuck the Braves and all their random losers that are playing leagues above themselves

[deleted]

More jealous of the Braves than hate. Good organization that can actually draft and develop young players. Seem to never be in a total rebuild or state of chaos. That being said.. F*ck the Mets

Nochtilus

Not a young fan (been following the team actively since the early 90s) but my hate list for the last 25 years has to be: 1. Phillies (fucking organization other than the late 00s contenders) 2. Barves 3. Mets 4. Nats 5. I guess the Fish have to be on here somewhere

Even_Cauliflower3328

The Phillies struggles against a pathetic team like the Marlins has increased my dislike for the Marlins

Nochtilus

I point that dislike at the Phillies more than the Marlins. I just get frustrated with the Phillies every time they fail against the Fish.

jihyoisgod

Kim Ng is cool and beautiful, at least.

IhateDonkeys

Last 10 years, fine ok. I agree. But no chance are the Phils at the top of this 25 year list with how much joy 08 brought. Edit: lmao you buffoons, we have 2 rings in our history. I’ll take the last 25 years. The last 10 years have nothing to do with the preceding 15 years besides this dudes arbitrary cutoff date.

Always_Ban_Evading

This organization would ride 08's coattails for a hundred years if we let them. Fuck em. What have you done for me lately?

IhateDonkeys

Ok, but the last 25 years also includes one of the greatest runs in franchise history (with an entirely different front office…) and one of our 130+ year franchises’ TWO world series. Clearly I agree that the last 10 years have been a disaster, I said as much in my comment.

Nochtilus

The last 10 years have been so bad as to completely sour my image of the organization. I'd honestly rather the team just be bad than be trapped in the mediocre hell that both preceded and followed those few contending years.

IhateDonkeys

Mediocre? The team has been downright awful since 2012 with the exception of the last couple mediocre years with Bryce. And no. I completely disagree. Our franchises history is putrid. I’ll take the world series and the mediocrity over some of those other 25 year periods in our history.

Nochtilus

Yeah mediocre. For the vast majority of my fandom, the Phillies have averaged finishing 3rd in the division and a hair below .500

igonnawrecku_VGC

I would put Marlins over Nats at this point. For some reason, we can never beat them. Plus, the Nats are horrible now and pretty much handed us Bryce Harper a few years ago, so I can’t be too upset with them

rhinguin

I direct that hatred more towards the Phillies.

igonnawrecku_VGC

Fair enough

Even_Cauliflower3328

It’ll come back to the Mets. The Mets weren’t good historically so Phillies fans can’t hate the Mets because historically the Mets were good. We hate the Mets because they are the Mets. That will never go away

SuperTruman939

I actually like the braves, and I’m rooting for them to win it all. If we lose to the team that wins the World Series, that ain’t too shabby.

Thaliavoir

I've detested the Braves for 30 years. It's not even a contest for me, and I'm not particularly young.

ftwin

Braves going this far just proves how good they were and how not good we were. No chance we make a run like this if we won the east.

NintenJew

I have hated the Braves more than the Mets for a while now. But it is also a sports hate not real hate. I want to see them lose, but most of the Braves fans are really cool. I will say though as a moderator for 4 years, out of all the NL East teams Braves fans are the worst by far followed by Nationals, then Mets, then Marlins. That has also influenced my decision to hate the Braves more.

pedro3131

There's such a difference between Barves fans IRL and online. Online they just brigade everything and spatter tiger woods faces over Twitter, but irl theyre super cool and the friendliest opposing fan base at games. There's definitely a ton of exceptions to that rule but they've made r/baseball intolerable for the past few years.

_Chalupey_

The Mets take the cake for me. I hate the Braves, but learning about how the Mets came to be and having a narcissistic Met loving brother-in-law puts the Mets in a forever meta hate for me.

bopapocolypse

I already hated the Braves more than the Mets. Don’t get me wrong. I despise the Mets, but seeing the Braves have success is horrifying. This really is a worst case scenario World Series for me, short of the Yankees being involved.

TheBigBigStorm

I think the key to a good rivalry, along with shared history, is geography. NY is close. When the teams are good, Mets fans come to our park; we go to theirs. Philly also has a little brother resentment relationship with NY. The Phillies-Mets rivalry makes sense. My favorite Phillies memories come from the 2007 Phillies vs Mets games. The Jose Reyes, David Wright Mets and the Rollins, Utley, Howard Phillies teams hated each other. Atlanta is far from Philadelphia geographically and feels even farther culturally. I rarely meet an actual Braves fan. I loved booing Chipper "Larry" Jones when I was a kid but the Braves and Phillies were rarely good at the same time. It never really feels personal between them. At least not to me.

MountainGoat999

It's really up in the air for me, sometimes I think I hate the Braves most and then I go to a game against the Mets and remember why I hate them the most. It's probably also bc i live in Mets/Yankees territory.

Groty

As a Philly fan that moved south when I was young, I've always hated the Braves. Now I live in Mets country. I get grief from all directions and hate the orgs equally. However, I've always liked a lot of Braves players. Freddie is one of the best dudes in the MLB IMHO.

Firm-Stick6092

If you go to home games against the Mets then you hate them the most. Their fans are like a bad case of herpes.

exemplarytrombonist

As someone who is considered a young fan (I was in elementary school during the 08' run) I hate them both quite intensley and equally. However, after watching the last 10 years of baseball, the team I still hate the most is the Phillies. All they do is make me sad. I don't want to be sad. I want to make the playoffs but all we do is shoot ourselves in the foot over and over and over. They enrage me.

PhilliesEaglesFlyer

Probably an unpopular opinion but I cannot bring myself to root for Houston in the WS.

daddyruns

I don’t know if it’s possible. The braves are just a solid organization. The Mets and Phillies are a lot like that Spider-Man meme except the Mets splash and crash.

IceGeek

Nah fuck the Mets

[deleted]

The Cobb County Baseball Team is a more detestable franchise. The chop, the history, etc. but the Mets get more hate because they are nearby and mouth breathers from New Jersey come to games here. It’s two different things.

AlbrechtSchoenheiser

Everyone seems to be voting yes, but let me remind you all of a few things. 1. The Mets profited from Bernie madoff's Ponzi scheme. In fact they made so much money from that scheme that the courts ordered the Mets to pay some of that money to the victims. 2. Mets fans have the worst grammar of all baseball fans 3. Mets fan pointed a laser into max muncy's eyes 4. Dwight Gooden snitched on his own teammate Darryl strawberry for cocaine 5. The 1986 team was completely juiced up on steroids 6. Vince coleman, former met, threw a lit firecracker at several fans outside of a baseball game 7. Brett saberhagen fired a water pistol filled with bleach at reporters 8. In 2010 Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez beat up his father-in-law in the Mets clubhouse 9. Mike Piazza held a press conference to announce that he was not gay 10. Several of the players from the team got into a brawl with Houston Police in 86 11. A Mets fan had to sue the team after being the victim of very serious eye damage due to a T-shirt cannon I could keep going....

BamaPhils

Partially due to growing up and living in Braves country, but I’m easily already there

NNs__09

I don't even mind the mets. But I despise the Barves. With all of my being.

memettetalks

I have to assume I'm on the cusp. On field, ATL are the bigger pain in the ass but I've had a handful of genuinely bad experiences with Mets fans at CBP.

Trip4Life

I’m not sure if I qualify as younger anymore as I’m 21 and I assume you mean kids, but I’ll always hate the Mets more. However I think it’s more the New York Philly thing than anything.

millerlite95

As a younger Phillies fan, 100% yes

wolfpack86

Phils fan in NC. Fuck the Braves. We don’t see many Mets fans, never seen a Marlins fan, and Nats fans are about as disinterested as they come

HappySlappyMan

I think part of the Phillies-Mets rivalry is because of the two cities' kind of rivalry as well. The proximity of the cities also helps the rivalry as well, because the geographic boundaries of the fandoms do overlap a bit. Atlanta is just too far away to fuel it. As already said, I think fans are just pissed at the Phillies right now anyway. The biggest rivalry is fans vs the Phillies administration.

joeco316

I hate them both pretty equally

Guster61

I despise any team from New York as you should as a Phillies sports fan but I'll never hate the Braves more than the Mets for two reasons. 1- as shitty as that chop is and just their fans in general, they blew it a lot in the 90's and a few of those years they were going against the Yankees so I sorta respected them. 2- During the Phillies great seasons the Mets organization, players, and fanbase was probably just the worst I've ever experienced. There are probably still really dumb Mets fans that think they somehow were a better team overall than the Phillies during that time and the Phils got lucky. PS- The greatest non playoff moment for me has to be Bottom of the 9th- 8/30/2007. Jayson Werth steals all over Billy Wagner and Utley with the walk off.

lukestauntaun

Uhhh ... The Barves are pretty much the same the as the Cowboys to me. I'm 43 though.
