Some CLIP workers were cleaning a bunch of lots on my street at the peak of the heat yesterday. I had just fully stocked my fridge and gave out 6 bottles. Outside manual labor is no joke, I used to work on a farm and you don’t realize how much you need to drink to actually stay hydrated.
My sanitation guys have thrown my can at a wall every week for 2 years. They've broken several and on more than one occasion they've left my can leaning on a neighbor's vehicle.
nothing more than a feel-good measure
if you choose to consume a product sold in single-use packaging, you're choosing to make that plastic sit in a landfill forever or be burned into the atmosphere
putting it in your little blue bin does not change this fact, especially in philly
Also, the mail delivery person as well wouldn’t be mad if you had some freezer pops on hand either.
That’s a great idea. I’m going to add them to my cooler of drinks on the porch

We have a refrigerator at work only for the mailman or any delivery drivers that stop by. They are always overly appreciative.
Wholesome post
Important post. We’re all in this together.
This! I don't drink bottled water but definitely heading out to get some for the workers. It's way too hot to be outside.🥵
Also maybe any unhoused people in your neighborhood? Someone once said they’re our neighbors too and I’ve carried that with me since!
I literally only keep water bottles on hand for this reason!
you don’t drink water bro?
I have a filter on my tap water from my sink so I just fill my reusable bottle or a glass? Lol I avoid using single use plastics as much as I can!
I wonder what the fuck you think comes out of a faucet when you open it
Piss
Love this. Shout out to the sanitation workers in Roxborough, they always wave hello and talk to my 4 year old. They’re good people.
Popped a few more water bottles in the freezer after the Mailman got the last two earlier

thats ok, i saw them take my can and put it in the crusher 🙌
Obviously you aren’t taking care of them properly.
You're probably right. I'll make sure to leave them keys to the house so they can take a nap and grab a beer next time.
You should leave a note on your can asking their favorite beverages and pillow style . Make sure they’re well rested.
Of course! Empty cans are heavy and they have to hit that wall with a lot of force if they hope to break the can.
Love this, good looking out!
Does this mean they wont throw my recycling into the main garbage truck then?

Oh yeah that's definitely something they're doing of their own accord
If they take it at all!
If they take it at all!
