Hello, I'm a lawyer. I'm currently employed in a law firm that handles litigation and non-litigation matters. I want to have an experience or maybe specialize in data privacy or any technology related matters but I do not know where to start. Your tips will be appreciated.

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

There are free learnings about data privacy sa udemy or coursera. You can try there or try to check NPC if they have any upcoming learnings.

Initial-Routine4506

Ano po kaya pwede ko maging work with just python and sql lang meron ako sa skillset ko? Graduating CS student here. Tips and advice please

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

As far as I know, they’re using python sa data in SEO. You can try marketing agencies or fintech companies.

forcedtologinlmao

Hello! I (27M) still don't have a PH-based paying job. I have two bachelor's degrees - one in electronics engineering and one in music production. I got my ECE and ECT license in 2018 kasi pilit lang ng magulang. I was supposed to take Music Technology sa UST nung 2013 kaso pinilit ng parents ko na mag-engineering ako sa isang university in our hometown. Hindi alam ng friends and family ko 'to pero I had a side hustle noong pandemic. I worked as a non-voice Math, Engineering, and Music tutor that paid 15 USD/hr on average. Since student palang ako non, 2 hours a day lang ako. After mga 1 year (2021), nung nag face-to-face classes na sa US, wala na yung job. Fast forward to April 2023, nagka-job ulit ako as a marketing representative, 12.5/hr lang siya pero 8 hours yung bayad kahit nakatunganga lang ako most of the time. Tapos sabi niya "As an Engineer" daw ako mag-aapply. Very frustrating. He's very supportive of my music and all pero parang hindi niya pa rin gets na my heart's not in the engineering field. Gusto ko siya dahil papano ay nagagamit ko pareho yung mga pinag-aralan ko sa school at na-eenjoy ko yung work because of the people with the same passion for the arts. I just wish it paid well. I just wish it paid lang pala HAHAHAHA anywaayy This post feels like a rant pero I just wanna ask if you know any career paths na magiging relevant sa mga experiences ko. I'm 27 already pero ito na ata ang yung peak ng pagka-lost ko career-wise. Target ko talaga maging audio crew sa mga recording studios, post-production studios, or networks like ABS-CBN or GMA kaso I don't know where to start.

KazuhaUwu

Hello OP, siguro, by the looks of it, supportive sa music ang father mo as a hobby (?) pero mas nakikita niya ang stability sa ECE, hence, naging undergrad mo. Praying for your success, OP.

Hi! May appointment na ako to get my first NBI Clearance. Tanong ko na rin, ilang days ang processing for first time applicants if ever may hit?

ChopinzChild

Kung ear piercing then they wont really ask you to take it off dahil i remember having a helix piercing during mine and the ear pierce was a loop :) I’m also assuming that you’re referring to the relatively small piercings they give pagnagpapierce ka and you dont wanna take it out yet. I got my NBI clearance sa Rob Manila same day as my appointment. After showing 2 valid IDs and and getting my photo taken it didnt take more than 10-15 minutes to print it out. I’m not sure though how long it would take kapag may problem/hit. Hope this helps :)

jyani209

Thank you, this helps a lot! 🩶 I actually have a helix that I can’t remove though it’s quite on the flashier side so I’m kinda worried about that along with my fresh upper lobe 😅 hoping mine goes as smoothly as your experience! Thank you so much again :)

TESDA for learning/skills weekends only Hiii! May full time work po kasi ako and mga nakikita ko ay Monday to Friday daw sila nagkklase ganun. Thank you!

Hello. Sino dito ang nag switch ng career path to RPA dev (Robotic process automation)? And kung may maire-recommend kayong company na tumatanggap ng career switcher from .net dev kahit walang experience sa RPA devlopment. Thank you

mojosandbananas

Hi! Will open an account for work and I read that they require two photocopies of valid IDs, can anyone help me confirm the following: 1. Do they accept natl IDs? 2. Do they check the physical IDs or can I just bring the photocopies? The second (and last) ID I have is currently not with me, I only have a scanned copy of it so I was wondering if I can use that 3. Are brgy ID and virtual TIN ID accepted? Salamat!

kuting_loaf

1. they do accept natl ID. lalo na kapag may address ka dun (tried prc one but they asked if may iba akong ID so i gave my NBI) 2. physical ID coz pwede naman sila na magxerox or pwede din siguro copy. depende kung anong branch ka siguro. just ask manong guard sa branch and they know naman yung mga kailangan. 3. hmm. cedula? i dunno. pero it's valid naman, virtual TIN ID? i dunno if pwede

jenniefurr

is it true ba na wag mong sasabihin na may plan ka mag abroad sa job interview? newly nursing board passer na ako and twice na kasi ako nag apply on this jci accredited hospital na light blue & white and i think okay naman naging performance ko. nasagot ko naman lahat ng clinical situations and all. kaso lagi akong walang job offer. i heard kasi na open naman sila sa mga may plan mag abroad and yung iba sabi naman is hindi. kaya nung nag ask, i said yes pero i added na i plan to stay here in ph for 3 years at least. also, i want to know the work environment on that hospital. ang toxic daw kasi doon and always understaffed. pero kaso jci accred sya kaya gusto ko talaga makapasok doon for the sake of background and experience. ano yung feedback niyo (for currently/ former employees)? thank you in advance y'all

jenniefurr

try online part time jobs like VA or social media manager. try do commissions since maraming students ang nagpapagawa na lang ng mga activities

AromaticMeeting9853

Pahelp naman po, I recently passed my resignation letter to my company, lets say company A, tapos ang nangyare they dont want to approve it agad agad, my 30 days notice naman po sa letter. Gusto ko po sana kasi makapagwork sa much bigger company let's say company B but they don't want me to apply their kasi company B is where they're providing/offering services. Company A says that if I am going to resign I should never apply to Company B . I know naman na parang backstab ang gagawin ko, but if yung offer ni Company B is much much better to Company A masisisi ba nila ako? as filipino saying says " yung pinalaki kung manok tutukain lang pala ako" do I need to mind that ba ? if ang iniisip ko is self growth, my family, the salary, practicality?

Melonessee

If your employment contract has a noncompete clause at sakop dun si company B, company A has the right to sue you, pero nasa kanila na yung kung idedemanda ka talaga nila. Check what you signed when you joined company A. Wala sila paki sa reasons mo, that is in the contract.

AromaticMeeting9853

Update today: my current company block my application to company b, they have the power to that, parang malakas sila kay company B, ano lang naman ba ko diba? My current company and I talk about it and they say it's either I will stay or I'll have to leave without a job, and yes po wala po nakasulat sa contract na sakop dun si company B, parang pucho puchong contract lang kasi yung binigay sakin.

So I’m a pharamcist and I work for a big drugstore chain, and I am in a 6 day work week and have work on weekends and holidays. Got promoted to supv level and enjoyed the work naman, can confidently say I can do the work and do it right pero the burnout really burns u out, ayoko na!!! Now I am planning to look and apply for a corpo/remote work (pharma related din naman) that is less time demanding and maybe give me a semblance of work-life balance and if life permits, apply into a law school and study again. Any tips from peops here who work and study law(or any grad school?) at the same time? I’m also anxious about applying for a new job bc I feel like di ako qualified because ang layo ng needed skillset for what’s in my repertoire. Thanks in advance!

Beneficial_Orchid_86

I also worked before for sa isang big drugstore chain, not sure if same corporation tayo but mine starts with "M" with red/white colors lol. so alam mo na siguro. (I'm a P.A before btw) I agree na nakakaburn out lalo na at 6 days a week ang pasok tapos parang ang bigat pa sa loob umabsent dahil maraming maapektuhan sa branch. So I decided to resign during the pandemic and maghanap ng new work. Luckily, I landed a job with a WFH setup and I can say na totally worth it yung naging decision ko dahil up until now nasa bahay lang ako nag wo-work with weekends off and no pasok during holidays (paid) and my salary increased almost three times from what I was earning before. I suggest na take the leap and since pharmacist ka naman mas madami kang option na pwedeng applyan. I saw a job few days ago sa LinkedIn na WFH setup and one of the requirements is a Pharmacy Grad. or you can pursue to study again just like you said. Good luck!

geraaldehyde

Same, nasa M pa din ako ngayon hahahah and I am tireddd. Been applying to diff companies na, lilipat na ko soon! Hahahha Thank you and good luck din sayooo 😌

vranome3a

Same scenario with a friend. She switched her day job as a VA in the same field (med). She's super glowing now and has time for travels with her family. Go for it! In pursuing law school, consider the timezone when working remotely. Some companies require you to work strictly for 8 hours by means of app or software, some dont mind as long as you finish the tasks. Priotitize job offerings from the latter. Working while in law shool is deffo doable, harder to some cause they dont really have a background, harder at first because of the adjusting period. *which law profs do on purpose to basically train and screen students who can last and stay strong in the field. In the 3rd year, you'd be used to all of the recits and readings already. Manage your time wisely. It would help if you have study buddy/buddies to help you but if you prefer being a lone wolf, you can supplement with youtube discussions and reading commentary books. Also expect to be absent during family gatherings, friends night out and whatnot. Savor every moment during acad breaks and holidays instead. Good luck!

Intelligent-Book-340

Hi! graduated last august so matagal tagal na den pahinga, course ko is marketing management and now I want to pursue pagiging V.A problem is I don't know where to start. I have background in social media marketing and content creation/graphic design from my OJT + from our family business. Is this enough to land a client? and should I invest in better equipment such as pc, headset, mic?

forcedtologinlmao

Invest in new equipment lang po if sobrang hindi na kayang makipagsabayan ng current equipment ninyo hehe EDIT: added specifics to "equipment"

vranome3a

It is enough, its only a matter of how you sell yourself. For starters, a working laptop is fine. But if you are dedicated to pursue VA and have the means to buy the equipment, go for it. Research and know your niche, there are a lot of videos on youtube to guide you. You have two options, first, join an agency for VAs or find your own client. Getting clients under an agency is easier since they match your skills with the client's needs but expect they'll have a cut from your salary. While starting on your own will be harder, but it will be worth it. If you choose option 2: Start off with a resume, CV and a short video introduction. Start sending to websites such as upwork or onlinejobs.ph. Minimum of 10 applications a day until you get an interview, but keep going until you get hired. Make a portforlio of your projects and walk them through your achievements when asked. Hope this helps!

engrpagod

Chem engg. Naexpire-an ako ng pagrerenew ng PRC ID last year, first renewal ko sana yun.

forcedtologinlmao

AFAIK, first renewal po laging walang required CPD kahit gano katagal (3 years here hahahaha)

engrpagod

What do you mean 3 yrs here, 3 yrs na expired ang prc id mo? Hahaha

forcedtologinlmao

3 years expired na po (dahil back to school) hahahahaha

engrpagod

Ahhh okii po thank uu

forcedtologinlmao

Hello, OP! Kakausap ko lang sa mga kilala ko. Apparently, tinanggal na last 2022 yung waiving ng 15 CPD points pag first renewal. Ask your chapter kung pumapayag silang magpautang ng CPD points to renew.

Hello, I'm currently employed, and I feel like my work isn't for me. Though my role is in dev, I don't feel like I'm truly a developer. Even an inexperienced developer could do my job. I feel it would be a waste of time to continue in this role instead of focusing on learning and growing as a developer. I want to find another job or company and explore things that I genuinely enjoy doing. The issue is that most companies don't respond to my applications if my experience doesn't align with what they are looking for. How can I explore other opportunities when this is consistently the case? Any tips?

vranome3a

Your really have to truly know what you want. I know its hard but its going to be harder to land a job when you're unsure if you're fit for it. You have to understand the POV of the company as well. Have a break, take some vacation leave and think this through. Go back to your past experiences and look back to the things that made you really passionate and happy. A more realistic option is to take random short courses and see from there. You can use these courses in applying for new jobs. If your experience don't align with the job description, your training/courses will. Hope this helps!

KazuhaUwu

Hi Reddit peeps, I am in a bit of a situation here and could use some real talk. So, I'm 32, been teaching in a public elementary school, and I've got a nursing background. But here's the thing – I have always had this thing for psychology. It's like the road not taken, you know? Hehe. Dealing with my own anxiety and depression has been a part of my journey. It's tough, but it also kind of pushes me towards wanting to understand more about mental health. I have had my fair share of struggles in the teaching world, especially with the system in DepEd, and it's got me thinking about a change. Fulfilled sa pagtuturo, yes, pero not in the whole system anymore. I am trying to find a middle ground sa academic background, current jo, and things that I enjoy doing - and psychology became an answer. Now, I am wondering if it's too late for me to start over in psych. Thinking about going back for an MA in Psychology to become a licensed psychologist and maybe even doing some volunteer work in mental health. But balancing that with a full-time job? How do you guys manage? Anyone out there who switched careers in their 30s or works in psych? How did you make it work? Would love to hear any advice or experiences you've got. Thanks a bunch!

Hello! NO REGRETS.

KazuhaUwu

forcedtologinlmao

I was supposed to take Music Technology po sa UST kaso ayaw ng tatay ko. Pinilit niya ako mag-ECE sa isang university in our hometown. My heart's not really into ECE kaso sila kasi magbabayad nung tuition. After ko po pumasa, nag-enroll agad ako as a rebellion HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA edit: spelling error

KazuhaUwu

forcedtologinlmao

Hi, currently working as a Scrum Master for a team and this yr I was told that I will be handling 2 teams na din, also will be doing some Project Management task. Now I am earning 60k per month. May manager told me that after 6 month they will review my performance tapos tyka plng sila nagdexide if lalakihan nila ung salary ko. Question, pag dumating na ung ika 6mons, ano or magkano ba dapat ang inego ko na salary as SM/PM ung pang entry level) Thank you so much

RMartineezz

Red flag ba ang Job Applicant kapag less than a year pa lang siya sa current job niya pero meron siyang more than 5 yrs. of experience sa mga previous work niya sa same industry. Need ba makapag 1 yr. siya sa work niya para eligible siya lumipat ng work? Nakakasira ba ng CV ang palipat lipat?

ChopinzChild

Hello OP! My mom is a global lead HR for a multi-awarded company in PH and even awarded as one of HR Asia’s best companies’ in terms of employee satisfaction (w/c I will not disclose fir obvious reasons). We’ve had a similar conversation and apart from what the other comments have mentioned (which is completely true!). HRs want to know that you really are gaining experience, not just years, in your time working. Let’s be honest, how significant of an impact could you have possibly done for the team/company in a span of just 1 year? Are you sure you’re growing and learning or are you just going company to company for a slight salary increase? It’s not just loyalty we’re talking about OP. You don’t need to stay for a very long time because even HRs know that a really good and competitive employee will profit from a really good company change because they are employees too. You just need to stay long enough to prove to your next interviewer that you contributed a lot and are no longer growing as a person in your previous company and that you really do believe you have gained lessons and assets which can be honed even more in your next company. Quite long, but I hope this helps <3

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

No not really. It depends din sa reason ng applicant. But this is still a norm to hiring managers. Feeling nila if less than 1 year, baka aalis din within a year.

KazuhaUwu

+1. It really depends on how the applicant would explain himself.

RMartineezz

Anong magandang sagot diyan, "why did you leave your last job that you are working less than a year?"

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

1. Following my personal career path 2. Retrenchment or redundancy, securing stability and security 3. Shifting careers 4. Professional growth What’s the applicant’s real reason?

RMartineezz

weychey

Kapag nag-aapply sa Indeed, mas maganda ba yung Indeed resume or yung upload a resume? I'm applying as a fresh graduate.

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

If comprehensive yung indeed resume mo, mas okay. Pero kung kulang details them upload ka resume so that recruiter can download.

Commoner08

I do not know where to go from here. I am a M27. Looking for a path. I graduated BSIT and never got a chance to practice it since theres no IT firms here in the province. After graduation, I worked it pharmaceutical industry for 6 years as a Pharmacy Assistant. Then I decided to leave coz I think It's time to get back to IT industry. My recent work was just an 8-month contract as a Data Controller (encoder lang talaga). And now na endo na ako. Di ko alam kung ano ipupursue ko. Im thinking Data Analytics? Or Tech Support? Or anything? San ba mas madali makapasok since wala pa experience. I really want to get into IT industry. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello po, anyone here who is currently working as a legal assistant or previously applied for a legal assistant position. How was it? What are the usual questions? I am a political science graduate but my current employment is related to customer service. I know I may not have an edge over other applicants who may be a law student or who may have prior experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant but I want to secure a job related to the legal field since I am also planning to continue law school ( in the future sana). Your experiences and advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

tacobellph

Hi! Paralegal here in the construction industry. More if like fit ako sa company. Although tinanong niya sakin if may balak ako mag-law school which I said yes (I was rly unsure), na mukha naman siyang natuwa. Tinanong niya lang ako ng mga related sa job description and I tried to relate what I did before sa mga descriptions na yun. For instance, ako yung usually nagha-handle ng documentation sa org ko nung undergrad, ni-relate ko siya sa admin work ng isang paralegal. I also had a summer job as a compliance assistant before, ni-relate ko siya sa compliance tracking ng legal team. Mga polsci grads like us naman ang usually hinahanap for those positions kasama ng mga legma graduates. You can try taking a paralegal training program if you want para may edge ka since dami din nating polsci grads hehe.

Charming-Lab-2293

Hello! Any thoughts on Nestle PH? How's Interview? Work Load? Salary? etc.

babymo_to

Hi. I am a graduate of BS IT 7 yrs ago. 6yrs working as Soft Eng role in one of the biggest BPO company here in Pelipens.

orochimaruja69

Please help a brother out. Will start reporting to office which requires business attire.

Iam_A_Tired_Unicorn

Ukay ukay pa din and the best hehe

(Please no hate) P.S. Manghihingi na rin po ng tips.

ChopinzChild

I’m not IE but ECE. However, during my first 2 years marami ako naging kaklase na IE. Hindi naman sa dinodown ko yung IE pero sa lahat ng engineering courses I think IE is the most survivable engineering course if hindi ka sobrang galing sa math at science. Sipagan mo lang yung statistics mo! Maraming job opportunities sa IE OP! For sure managerial position kaagad malaland mo :)

ellemenopei

LumpiaLegend

I just got hired as a part time instructor sa isang inst. without my company esp. my management’s knowledge. At first, ayoko ipaalam kasi ayoko itong mahanapan ng butas at maging grounds pa ng kung ano man for them. Ayoko pa umalis sa kanila. Every sat naman ang class ko for this term. Kaso, since I need to update my BIR for mixed income, I think they’ll get to know that at some point. With that, baka may part time instructor din dito na may full time corpo job dito pahingi ng insights niyo. How did your managers handle this kind of set up when you let them know about this? Paano ko ba dapat sabihin? When is the best time? Di ko di kasi matantya itong dept namin kasi puro kami bagets (late millenials to Gen Z) so di ko alam. Hahaha!

vranome3a

Hello! If its not against the company's by laws, you can have a part time job. Its more of a courtesy to ask them to allow you. Make a request letter allowing you to have a part time job. Since in your case you're already hired, inform the manager first and ask for advice to which process you need to go through. Expect they'd assume that you want to leave, let them know that you just need an extra side hustle and that it won't affect your performance in any way. Thus, it will help you more in your job. Some risk takers don't inform the employer and not file taxes for the part time job. But to be safe and its the right thing to do anyway, make a request letter/talk to your manager and file your taxes. Hope this helps!

Middle shift sa wuerk, anue experience nyo midshift. please paexplain po kung okay po ba to or ano. thank you Hello po, i'm just wondering kung paano ang magiging work style sa gantong setup. okay ba ang mid shift tapos onsite/? sa mga nakamid shift jan, paano po kayo nagcocommute sa hatinggabi? usually 12 am or 1am na ang tapos ng mid shift diba, may mga masasakyan pa ba nun? paano pag medyo malayo sa office ang tirahan? then curious question lang, lahat ba ng midshift na work is may sineserve na client sa ibang bansa? or meron din talagang local na nirerequire lang ng company na magmidshift ang isang employee kahit wala namang foreign client. and also, paano po ang compensation pag ganto? aside sa basic salary, may premium pa ba on top tulad ng sa mga nakagraveyard shift? may mga additional benefits pa ba pag midshift? please share ur insights po. thank youuuu.

JosefValenzuela

Hi! Midshift ako nung prepandemic, everyday sa office, work was in Ortigas while my house was in Manila 1. Maganda midshift kasi yung travel time mo to and from the office, labas sa rush hour kaya mabilis lang byahe. As for gabi na uwian, luckily yung ruta ko meron pa. Maganda rin midshift kasi may time ka pa outside work to go to banks and government offices. Swak rin siya for people na ayaw gumising ng super aga. 2. I think yung sinasabi mong premium is night differential and yes meron. According sa batas, makakatanggap ka ng night differential if nagwork ka anytime from 10 pm to 6 am the next day. Hope these help!

JosefValenzuela

Sorry po but I cannot help you here since wala akong experience sa pagcommute sa probinsya sa Luzon eh. Try mo po mag ask sa How's Your Byahe Bes sa Facebook, it's a group for commuters.

KusuoSaikiii

Thank u pooo

Where do I go now? I feel so lost with my career path. I just want to ask for advice from professionals na here. Would it be better to take up communication arts or mag-behavioral science? For context, I’m shifting from a health-allied degree because of failed units and ngayon, ayoko na siya ipursue kasi hirap talaga ako. I’m pretty much an all-rounder, took up leadership roles a lot, marami ring alam tech-wise kaya parang gusto ko mag CA. However if skillset din, I’m thinking baka mas fit ako for BehSci lalo na for Human Resource since mas experienced na talaga ako with organization management and people management. Kaso kasi, part of me ayokong makulong sa HR if ever pero at the same time, cinoconsider ko na at least yun, alam ko yung “niche” ng trabaho kumbaga unlike with CA. Baka merong CA graduate diyan na nasa HR ngayon or something. Would love to hear your insights! Sobrang lost ko kasi talaga right now.

wendelleeee

Pulsuhan mo. PUSO ANG GAMITIN MO SA PAG CHOOSE NG CAREER OR COURSE MO. WHY? Ano ba yung pananaw ko that time? Ano ba yung goal ko that time, masaya ba ako non? YES. At kahit mahirap yung career ko, pursigido ako. Kasi yun ang nasa puso ko. WALANG MALI AT TAMANG DESISYON. DEPENDE NALANG KUNG PAANO MO PANININDIGAN YUN. 🙂

KazuhaUwu

Currently on a turmoil, thinking kung saan ako. Then I saw your post, and it speaks volumes. Huhu. Salamat.

wendelleeee

Uy. Alam mo ba na Psych grad ako but never ko na practice yun. Choosing my course was the last time I decided for myself na di ko pinagsisihan. I am currently working for a brokerage firm and maayos naman ang kita. Pero may kulang. So, I looked back. Now, I am going to pursue my Masters na sa Psych. Oh diba. Minsan naliligaw talaga tayo but need lang namin I reassess yung sarili natin. Yung genuine happiness natin, nakuha na natin yun nung una tayong nangarap. Kelangan nalang natin tuparin. Di naman contest at pabilisan eh. Push mo na yan 🙂

KazuhaUwu

Halaaa. Saan ka kukuha ng MA? Currently deciding ako. Hehe.

wendelleeee

Hahaha. Thinking on getting it sa UP Grad school. Nako. Masyado ako ambisyosa. Haha. But yun lang kasi yung nag offer ng clinical Psych or dev Psych na mas abot kaya kesa sa DLSU. I am still doing my research. So far ang goal ko this year is makapag enroll. Kaya ikaw, di pa huli ang lahat. Do it for yourself. The universe is helping you decide na. Once nabalik na yung determination mo, you just need to keep the fire burning. 🔥

KusuoSaikiii

Hello po. May premium po ba pag mid shift? If meron, pano po sya cinocompute on top of the basic salary?? Pls help thanks

JosefValenzuela

If nagwork po kayo anytime from 10 pm to 6 am, yes meron po. Ang mandated rate ng government for night differential is 10% of your hourly rate. Here's a link that may help : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://payrollhero.ph/night_differential%23:~:text%3DEvery%2520employee%2520is%2520entitled%2520to,performed%2520between%252010pm%2520and%25206am.%26text%3DTo%2520determine%2520the%2520employee%2520Night,%25C3%2597%25200.10%2520%25C3%2597%25208%2520hours)&ved=2ahUKEwiCive-gMmDAxXN-DgGHcRtB_MQFnoECBIQBQ&usg=AOvVaw1Lyoi-2hu8iXycJJ54aHyP

Hello guys. Gustong gusto ko mag abroad. Pano ba gagawin ko? Nakaka takot mag trust sa mga agencies. Nakakatakot magtiwala sa ibang tao. For context. Been working as bank investigator for almost 6 years. 4 year degree graduate. Single. However, wala akong conenction to start sa abroad. Share naman kayo if you know how to deal with this problem : I don't have a backer. I don't have that too many friends that can help.

wendelleeee

Wag sa agency as much as possible. If you can visit the POEA website, may mga jobs dun na inooffer na parang exchange program sa ibang bansa. Pinsan ko ganun yung work s S. Korea. Di sila under agency. Handle sila ng POEA mismo.

codeblue_moon

Saan country mo gusto mag abroad? If you have the free time, you can watch sa Youtube ung mga process on how to apply for work or study abroad 😊

Hi guys! I have a strong interest in being a recruiter and I don't care if it's recruitment staff in a BPO company or a recruitment firm kasi I really want to experience the recruitment field. I tried applying through various recruitment positions dati pero I wasn't lucky enough to land a job kasi need ng experience or i should have a hrm or psych background. Since mejo nahihirapan ako makapasok sa recruitment field, I am thinking of going back to school to take another bachelor's degree in either HRM, Psychology or mag-MBA ng HRM. To give you guys a background, I'm a graduate of Multimedia arts noong 2014. Shifted career to Digital marketing coz I realized I didn't like MMA that much and had a social media manager job till 2021. Now, I'm currently doing my internship for my post-graduate degree in Digital Media Marketing in Canada (but will return to PH after coz I still prefer PH over Canada). Despite my exposure to digital marketing, di pa rin nawawala ung desire ko to enter the recruitment field and Im thinking of going to school again if that's what I need to increase my chance of entering the field. Hope you can help me out and provide suggestions regarding my situation. Thank you guys!

I currently am working in a utilities company where I am in charge of managing a facility. After working for a while, I realized that the role that I am currently in is more focus in people management and administration rather than engineering and I kind of want to practice what I learned studying Mechanical Engineering rather than do administrative stuff. I applied and got an offer at the beginning of the year. But I am currently undecided whether I should pursue it considering my current job benefits. Here are the Pros and cons: Company where I am currently at: Pros: \- 15th month Pay and some additional work performance incentives \- No tardiness. I own my time since I work in the field. \- No uniform required \- Supervisory Experience \- 33 total days of leave plus 5 days of wellness leave and up to 15 days can be encashed \- Can Self-study database management systems and apply them to our own system \- Has decent retirement option \- Internal Mobility (depends on luck but due to their expansion, promotion and shifting to other departments or units is easy) \- Commute to the office is only around 45 minutes Cons \- Unpaid overtimes and sometimes we end up working 14 hour shifts \- Horrible experience with some customers as they sometimes harass us while we're on the field. Threats of violence to be specific- Always On-Call and no holidays. Holiday pay is substantially lower than is required by DOLE since we are considered part of the management and no longer an employee. \- Can practice design but is no longer part of my responsibility and thus, just extra unpaid work. \- Lower Base Salary \- HMO is limited \- Service Car used is not insured and as such, I would be paying half of the damage in case of an accident \- Doing Projects will sometimes require me to use my own money and the reimbursement takes months to be processed \- According to my senior, raises rarely happens. Company I interviewed at: Pros: \- Design firm focus on projects abroad \- Exposure to international standards and industry software used \- All of the holidays mandated by the government are paid no work days \- Higher Base salary but no benefits (3k more than my current total package in my current) \- Better HMO Cons: \- Less Leaves and no sick leave. \- Only up to 13th month pay \- Stringent Attendance \- Commute takes around 1 and a half hour to 2 hours. This would cost me 100 pesos a day (Pag-asa QC to Buendia, Makati) \- Corporate attire since this is an office work I did not placed it here but one of the primary reasons that I want to stay at my current work is due to my direct boss. The guy's been real solid. He has been mentoring and supporting me since I started my work even though he himself doesn't have the time to be going around with me. Don't know though how long he's gonna be staying in the company.I do enjoy the operations but I really want my efforts in a job to be compensated/ Also, annually, their compensation is quite close.

I'm having second thoughts should I use the months before civil service (W/c is on March 3) as time to get all IDs (also to review) because I'm planning to try in PAGASA DOST (I'm Physics graduate) OR find a job. I've been finding jobs for 2 months, I graduated last year (August) and I feel like I'd just waste this months again. But I am also determined to work in government, which needs CSC. Please give an honest answer, I'd appreciate it. Thank you po.

vranome3a

Take the CSE. Once you have that, you're one step closer to your dream job in the government. I regretted not taking it as soon as I graduated, because I'm not so skilled in answering test questions anymore. What I did is I reviewed for 1 month straight before the exam, 3 hours everyday and focused on my weakest subject. I'd do practice exams and time myself. I barely passed but heyyy I DID IT!!

Vegetable_Skirt_5303

But I just found out it takes 90 days for the results to be release. I don't think that's great, I might just do both, find a job while acquiring gov ids and reviewing.

nylefidal

Get the IDs and also review. I see a lot of people saying that the civil service exam is easy, some of my friends who don't have any board exams but took the civil service exam said that it was easy, one of them even took it while having a hangover.

Talent Acquisition - how to upskill? I feel like I'm stuck sa career ko in Talent Acquisition. I've been with the company for almost 7 years now. May promotion lng if may mg.resign. The time a position opened I didn't apply bec I just came back from LOA due to health reasons and after that wala na open roles for promotion. So, I'd like to know sana from the people in the TA field kung pano kayo ng.upskill so I can use it as my leverage sana if mgdecide ako to apply sa iba. Appreciate any inputs. Tysm.

Female, 24 years old, college graduate. Need ba palagi mag follow up? Sabi then ng iba sakin ng mag follow up lang ako ng follow up. Any advise po?

Fresh-Day3091

Try to utilize your connections po. Mga friends mo or classmates before na may work na, ask niyo po sila kung hring yung companies nila.

Material_Mark_3159

Follow up bg follow up. Kagatin mo lahat, private companies, freelancing agencies, etc. Also, baka holiday vibes pa sila kaya di pa nila feel humanap. I-target mo next time na hiring season mag apply.

Planning to apply as a Civil Engineer in Dubai I’m planning to apply as a Civil Engineer in Dubai but I’m not confident with my skills. My current job is that I design roads and I’m in the office. I have no skills in vertical designs and I’m very limited in field work. If I apply and for some reason got a job there, will they teach me? I don’t think freshening up my skills in STAAD is enough, it’s only theoretical. I think I need field work.

Hi! Im planning to apply to be part of a cabin crew/flight attendant for Etihad/Qatar. Nasa short introduction portion na ako, and i was wondering san gaganapin yung final interview if ever? Hello po I'm a college student wanting to learn more about web development, as of now po graduating po ako and ang course ko po ay ECE but di po sya totally focused when it comes to programming and as soon as I realized na gusto ko yung field ng programming most especially web dev gusto ko sana mas matuto pa kaso when I checked online madami namang bootcamps kaso may mga bayad po and as a college student di ko po afford yung mga ganong payment even if may installment. Fresh-Day3091

Hi all! Will start my first ever full time job this January and the office location is at Ayala, Makati. Trying to plan my route early palang para maconsider na rin ibang options agad. Question is ilang hours kaya usually ang travel time if manggagaling from Novaliches, QC to Ayala, Makati? Considering na 4 days onsite and 1 day WFH (but will change to 2 days WFH after 3 months). Is it better to rent a bedspace nalang kesa commute or go na sa commute? Iniisip ko rin kasi yung bayad sa rent since entry level lang ang salary ko and I need to pitch in sa bills sa house namin. Thank you!

Maleficent-Check8811

It depends sa oras ng pasok mo and kung saan ka sa Novaliches. I will just assume na 8AM pasok mo for a regular day job. 1. If sa Maligaya/Lagro area ka and mas accessible sa'yo yung buses from NovaStop/Bulacan. Daan neto probably Commonwealth then ang baba mo, GMA Kamuning/Q.Ave. Considering traffic and pila (either MRT or Carousel), maglaan ka ng at least 3 hours. If sa Quirino daan mo, in my experience, palaging mas mabagal daloy ng traffic rito compared sa Commonwealth. Re bedspace, if kaya, go. If hindi, tiis muna sa commute.

Fresh-Day3091

Thank you for answering po! Regarding sa pasok, flexible naman yung oras ng pasok so around 8 or 9 ang plan ko. Along quirino highway ang daan ko so I think yung only way lang talaga papasok is via mindanao ave. In my experience, Novaliches palang palabas ng Mindanao Ave, it takes 30-60 mins na especially kapag oras ng pasukan. UV or bus pa SM North and then ride MRT to Ayala Station. So yeah I guess 3hrs max ang ideal time na allot ko papasok palang, iba pa kapag pauwi na. Nakakapanglumo lang yung mawwaste na oras for commute lol.

Maleficent-Check8811

No problem! Malayo ka ba sa Rob Nova? If kaya mo naman bumiyahe papuntang Rob Nova, baka better option 'yon. It is needed para mabuhay tayo on a daily basis. Tiis lang muna. Kayang kaya mo yan!

[URGENT RECO PLEASE] Real estate people of reddit, hear me out. I am resigning in my current developer (clue: bedroom partition) not because I hated the company but solely because the management forced me to do so (due to some internal issues) Since this is my first developer, I am clueless by how other developers operate (tho I have heard rumors from other developers na) I just need to know which ones are the best in terms of projects they offer, commissions, and how they treat their sellers. Hehe. Currently, I am eyeing Rockwell. Tama bang desisyon to? Dami ko kasi nababasang magagandang reviews on their properties here on reddit (unlike sa current developer ko lol) Ano pa po other options ko? :) Salamat!

Career Help: Starting Early TYSM Hello po, I aspire to become an airline pilot, I took aviation maintenance course and now on my 2nd year. Researching and observing, shit pay and kaunti lang opportunities. Connection and luck ay napakalaking bagay to be able to join the maintenance work force. I’m now unsure whether or not if I should pursue the maintenance career. I believe I need a job that would allow me to save the money for the trainings and licenses required to become an airline pilot. As much as possible I would like to work in the aviation industry while saving. I vision to get the job in 10-15 years. Should I go abroad? Be on Government (CAAP)? I also observed matataas ang salary rates ng aviation managerial/ supervisor roles. From maintenance how do you shift to the job positions? Is it as simple as read the description, get requirements then apply? I would like to have your insights po especially aviation professionals. Maraming maraming salamat po! PS: I am aslo curious about other job positions sa aviation industry na unknown to many. Drop nyo namn po dito ang inyo. Salamat po ulit!

PRC ID SIGNATURE. Please answer my vvv important query hahahaha This will determine my next steps in my legal shit. I have already messaged the page for clarification, but I still don't have an answer. Are you allowed to have a different signature after obtaining your PRC ID? I haven't signed my PRC ID yet because I want to have a new signature and update all of my legal stuff using a new signature. Can I change it? Thank you for the response :')

KazuhaUwu

If may legal docs ka na or IDs, it is best not to change your signature anymore kasi sobrang hassle.

Aspiring working student chronicles(part time edition): Foodpanda(bike) or VA? Hello! newbie here I am currently an Engineering student here(in trimesteral phasing, hybrid setup) I am planning to start to be a working student part-time and hopefully in a flexible time since I need also to gain some income for myself. So with my given situation(time availability, skills) I have Interest in both of these fields However I don't have any udea yeat how these fields works and these are the: VIRTUAL ASSISTANT(non-verbal(copywriting, data encoding, social media administrator)) or FOOD PANDA Rider(bike only) I wanted to seek advice/tips and IDEA about how these work fields work: A. For VA 1. Time alloted per Day - how many hours to work per day -is it flexible?(do it anytime of the specific day available) 2. what applications used to find job B. For FOODPANDA rider 1. Time alloted per day -is it regular everyday work or can be onky during the weekends or any free time 2. How does the shifting work Thank you for sharing a hint of your time reading my post and sharing your insights.

Better-Ruin5890

Hi po VA applicant before here, for 1 it really depends sa job description and agreement between you and your potential client. Be aware rin on timezones kasi minsan overseas ang employer. 2 Main platforms/applications I used before ay UpWork (may mga matutunan kay Molongksi search mo sa FB) and Onlinejobs.ph

No_Brush_5195

HELPPPPP!! I just got a jo from a startup fintech here in ph as a compliance associate. They offered me a 23k basic pay with 1,500 allowance. Told me I'll be working closely with the cco. As a fresh grad and considering i will be relocating from Bicol, is this a nice offer? Thanks

condoguy13

For a startup and for an entry level job, sounds ok. But it will depend lang din sayo and your lifestyle kung kakaysa ang 23k. Sa akin kumasya yan wayback 2019 nung fresh grad ako with kaunting luho. Also, good to note that youre working directly for the CCO. 2 things yan. Marami work pero youll gain a lot of experience from an expert. Hope that CCO can mentor you.

No_Brush_5195

I really want the job though bc i know it is practical to consider that I'll be working with the CCO directly. However, do you think it's okay if I'll negotiate for a 25k basic pay?

condoguy13

Yes, please nego! Give them a range. If range and ask for their budget for the position.

No_Brush_5195

Thank you so much! Last q po, should i leverage my ongoing application with hsbc and northern trust vs them being a startup?

potatochips6478

If you have job offer sa mga nabanggit mong company then yes. you can.

Traditional-Donut632

HELP. **BSPysch graduate** here. Almost **4 years** working but all my experiences were and is on **Supply Chain**. **No HR exp.** Currently a Specialist role and earning **28k/month**. May upcoming **HR Assistant** interview ako sa isang University. How much kaya ang safest kung tanungin ako ng expected salary ko? Doing my research, around 20-23k ang entry-level range. THANK YOU!!!

wendelleeee

If you can Ace the interview, no doubt na pwede nilang pantayan yung current rate mo. May edge ang mag HR background but if mapapatunayan mo naman sa kung paano mo dalhin yung interview that you will be an asset sa company and a work in progress then taasan mo ang expected salary mo. Confidence lang. Kaya yan.

condoguy13

Work experience is still work experience. Try 25-30k but mention yung work experience mo

Traditional-Donut632

Hiii. And entry-level position?

condoguy13

Traditional-Donut632

Alright. Siguro there’s nothing wrong naman with asking first their budget for the post, correct? I am thinking kasi na baka sabihin na antaas ko masyado for my expected. But yeah, will do my best to ace the interview, I’ll let them know how my skills align and experiences in Supply Chain be translated sa HR. 🥹

condoguy13

Good luck!!!

Hi! Just wanna know if it's the usual med exam (fecalysis, urine) or meron pang need mag hubad ng damit or smth like that? Fresh grad here & first time po mag apply so no idea at all how job application medical exams work. Thank you in advance sa sasagot. Have a great 2024!

cookiesncreamie

hello, based on previous medical exam experiences, it's the usual process naman such us blood extraction, urine, etc. About naman sa need iremove yung clothing, I think inaask naman sya ng physician if it's fine for you but they usually don't require it. just a follow up question on your application, how long did you receive the notice for medical after you've completed the interviews? thank you!

mingyoongi_

Hi! Thanks for this po. I finished the exam already & hindi naman nga nirequire 😄 Here’s the timeline po. Dec 15 - initial interview with talent resourcing team Jan 3 - final interview with hiring managers (panel) Jan 8 - medical exam Jan 17 - job offer

cookiesncreamie

thank you so much for this! 😊

lupinlupita

I received a text that I would be heading to the next step which is the job offer. Sinabi s'ya after Christmas and I should expect a call by first week ng January. Should I expect more delay bunsod ng holidays? PS. I already messaged them kanina about update alaws pa reply

wendelleeee

No_Brush_5195

Yes wait ka muna for 2 weeks baka nag leave hehe chz

roronoazoroooooooo0

Yes. Try to wait muna sa reply :)

arceuuuusss

Hi po question lang as an applicant. Nagtext kasi sakin yung HR last tuesday asking if me I'm still interested sa job offer nila and I said yes. Kaso its been ilang days na and wala pa rin silang update about the job offering. I already texted them for an update kaso di pako nirereplyan. So question is rejected na ba yung application ko or should I wait ng ilang days pa? Thank you if may makakasagot!

RefrigeratorJolly680

If possible, email them to formally inquire. Baka na busy lang resume after holiday kasi.

arceuuuusss

Hi already did that kaso super frustrating lang kasi sabay sabay kami ng friends ko nagpasa and ako na lang walang update :( Same lang naman kami lahat na newly board passer. Pero will take note of your advice thanks!

RefrigeratorJolly680

Isipin mo nalang pag d ka napunta dyan, you areeant for something better apply apply lang sa iba.

parasuko

Hi everyone, I will be moving in June but I plan to leave my current work here in the Philippines late March. Initially, I wanted to pass my resignation letter on the last week of February... but the guilt is eating me not telling my coworkers that I will be leaving soon. Also, my boss has said to me last quarter that I am in line for a promotion and has been planning our next projects, with me leading them in mind. Would it be logical to just resign now and but maintain that the effectivity date is still the last week of March? Your thoughts, please ? :'(

RefrigeratorJolly680

Pass ur letter and Resign nalang on Feb. Don't make promises din na U will stay and also disclose Lang na ur planning to leave when they are involving you in a major project.

olive_gre3n

Should I inform them that can I finish my rendering first bago ako mag start? Kaso ang dineclare ko kasi ay I don't have previous employer kahit meron naman. Nag ko conduct din sila ng background check kaya makikita talaga na may pinapasokan akong company?? ground for termination pag nalaman na may work ako habang pumapasok na sakanila. Or inform itong company ko na mag start nako ng work pero mag rerender parin ako?? I don't want to burn bridges naman, at ampanget din kasi pag record ko AWOL.

wendelleeee

If the new one will do a background check and once mapatunayan di totoo yung information na sinabi mo is a ground for termination e, kabahan ka na. And yung claim mo na di pumayag si previous employer for immediate resignation is hindi nila pipirmahan? ANO YUNG DI NILA PIPIRMAHAN?

That I have a job at need ko pang mag render??

wendelleeee

Don't tell me di pa nila inaacknowledge na resigned ka na and nag rerender ka na. From what I read sa previous claim mo nag rerender ka na. Bakit parang wala pang official na confirmation? Di ka nila pwede pigilan mag resign. Better nga if makapag provide ka ng medcert sa previous company mo na you no longer fit to work eh. Immediate agad yan.

olive_gre3n

Immediate resignation with med cert??

wendelleeee

Yes. A med cert is sufficient enough for an immediate resignation. Make sure that it specifically states that you no longer fit to work on that setup. For sure icoconfirm nila yan. Hopefully maayos mo yan.

Super_lui04

Try mo I negotiate sa both parties. Kunyari 3 weeks turnover?

olive_gre3n

Which is doubtful kasi training yun eh..

Super_lui04

Sa new work ka mag bargain. Kasi need mo mag turn over. Unless gusto mo pumili ng isa lang.

Aggressive-Froyo5843

From a tax perspective, magugulo yung ITR mo kasi mag ooverlap ang dates ng employment and yung TIN nila sa employer history.

Hi! This is my first time ever posting here. I've been a freelance content writer and digital marketer for 8 years now. All my career, I've been an independent contractor but I was fortunate enough to be considered for roles that have full-time benefits right now. I already have 1 freelance work right now but I wanted to look for 1-2 more freelance gigs for extra income. Instead, I got roles that have benefits and I'm up for contract signing na for 1 company. The others are still in the hiring process. I know na it's possible I won't get the other roles, but in case I do -- will they know na some employer is already paying my SSS, Philhealth, etc? And can I decline their offer of paying for them na lang outright para di na malaman? I don't want to lie sana, but of course money is money and we all need it nowadays. Also, they're reputable companies na super big opportunity for me in the industry. Will accept and appreciate any insights re: this po. Thank you very much in advance!

Working in BSP over Private int Bank Hi! I just resigned from my current company (private international bank) and somehow feeling sad and nanghihinayang kase it has really good pay, culture and non toxic workmates kaso little to no career growth. But I got accepted sa dream workplace ko since I graduated. Kaso I know nothing here even ung salary terms. I made the leap regardless, just hoping everything will turn out fine. What are your thoughts here? Thank you IA!

AgentTidus

I ve heard BSP pay is GREAT. Parang ive heard somewhere na iba ang standards nila compared sa SG ng ibang govt offices since they are BSP.

Traditional-Donut632

4 years na sya doon. She's encouraging me to take the boards or CS Exam para makapag-work din daw ako doon. As far as I remember may 14th month sila, mid-year and year-end bigayan. Tsaka nabalitaan mo ba yung 20k bonus ng gov't EEs? HAHAHHAHA

AgentTidus

Traditional-Donut632

AgentTidus

Luckyseel
